Prolly the most hardware hog i ever tried.

Phenom II 940 @ 3.7ghz

4GB DDR2-1066

Nvidia GTX 280 1GB

Sometimes the framerate manage to drop to 45-46.... Thought this computer was good enough to play anything at 60+ constant but meh...

I run this game very bad on my hd4850 from Sapphire, i have overcloked the same settings ur using and still bad performance, i dont know why :(

probably my processor witch sux core 2 duo e4600 2.4 @ 3.0, small cache and stuff :(

the problem ain´t your GPU

it´s your CPU that´s holding you back

this game demands a lot from the CPU and the recommended CPU is a e8400

I did not tried to run mine at stock speeds, but @ 3.8ghz i have a good performance.

Nvidia XP drivers have serious problems on this game, performance is horrible, absolutely unplayable on my 9800gt.

Not only with this game tbh, last 2 sets of drivers really sucks for XP. I'm using 182.50 atm and its "ok" anything after that is major failure :( Seem like nvidia don't care about winXP support anymore.

sometimes it dosent lag but everytime reach some places it become so lag example alot ghost coming out or lighting scene, the part when the hotel flooded with waters, alot of destruction going on it become too lag, i do not know how to overclock my cpu, if i overclock my casing will cannot handle it, i'm using NZXT alpha casing, my cpu is using stock cooler, my motherboard i think cannot make it too becuz its juz a budget system my motherboard is biostar MCP6P M2+ and sry my english is bad....

the reason why you can only "see" 3.19gb ram is because you´re running a 32bit Windows

install the Vista x64 version to use all of your 4gb ram :)

About the lags, i can´t rly tell you for sure why, but it´s obvious that is a CPU related problem and not the GPU (since the GTX 260 is better than a 4850 and mine is runnig better than yours)

I totally agree with the programers

the physics should be done on the CPU while the GPU should do graphics.

This game is the proof that it´s possible. I mean

it runs great on my PC, even when there´s tons of things flying around. Yes, it´s a demanding game, but let´s face it

Quads are going mainstream already. No gamers buy dual-cores anymore

So, i believe this engine is the future ^^

yea man like the Q8200 is one of the mainstream ones and so is the amd phenom x4 9100 series. probably most games will recommend quad cores in the near future. Duals are fine for most games now adays but aren't future proof i must say.

for gamers who want to futureproof the core 2 quad q6600 or amd phenom 9750 is the way to go!

but right now, i´m saving money for the future quads that should be released

Intel says that a 8-core cpu will be relased till the end of the year, or, until half the next year, so, the i7s should drop prices soon.

the problem with i7´s are the motherboards that are too expensive and ddr3 that´s waaay to expensive too

Well no,i actually bought a dual core,and yes they are still much more optimized for some games,and you can find great and cheap dual core processor.

Dual Cores are still the fastest ,we can say quad cores are still in beta,but yeah,at the end of the year new quadro core families will appear on market and then is the best to buy them(lucky you will :P)

Actually

a Q9450 @ 3.6 is the same as a e8400 @ 3.6

so, if you OC your quad, you´ll have the same performance as the dual-cores

4ghz 24/7 on a e8400 aint safe at all.

Dual-cores sure are great

I love my e8400, but i know that it won´t last as much as a q9450 for example, got it? ;)

I hate my PC. Running this game average 13 FPS with my rig, all max. Made me uninstall it. I really don't feel like buying both new Motherboard, CPU, and Ram memory. But i'll do that after the summer i guess. Great video otherwise.

Well this is not the game that demands a upgrade You should save your money for the things that´s about to come :) the i7 should drop prices soon and some new phenoms should come out too :) About the game Yeh it´s damn CPU intesive and won´t run very well on slower CPUs... they recomend a e8400 (yes, i´m on the limite D:) Your CPU ain´t that bad... This game have really strange performance on my computer, if i play in 1024x768 i get total crap fps (5-15) but if i set the resolution to 1600x1200 i get 30-40fps O.o what the heck?

Hey man!

that´s because at lower resolutions, the game demans more on the CPU that is busy doing the physics

when you raise your resolution, you transfer the graphics esclusivly to the GPU, that´s why you get better fps on that resolution :)

but, if you´re planning on buying it, i would recomend the HD4770

it costs the same, overclocks a lot and has almost the same performance as the 4850

Bets by far the 9800GT

But if you already have the 9800gt (wich is a good GPU), you might run this game maxed (if you have a good dual-core cpu)

It should run

but remember that this game is rly CPU intense

all the physics are done on the CPU

that´s why they NEED a good dual-core CPU to run it

some cpus like the Pentium D 2180 won´t run it.

I believe graphics are the same, maybe a little better on a good PC since you play on higher resolutions, and of course, i think playing on a keyboard/mouse is a lot better than playing on a dull controler :P

Hey man!

the lowest fps is caused by your CPU

this game has lots of physics and they are made on the CPU, so, when there´s too much physics calculations going on, your CPU gets overloaded and drops your fps.

Even though your CPU is OCed to 4ghz, it has small caches, so, it can´t manage all that work. For me, while recording, the lowest fps was 25, when fraps is turned off, the fps won´t go lower than 50.

Well GamingFr34k has a 8800GS wich should support GPU Physx.

GamingFr34k go to nVidia control panel, from the left choose "Set PhysX configuration" and make sure that "enabled" is chosen.

even without the multiplayer, they did a good single player campaing.

And c´mon, this is not the first single player only game :P

take a look at Bioshock. No multiplayer and still, it rules.
