  • how high can that tower ladder reach?

  • @r1ninja17 it depends. most are about 100 to 110 feet

  • Is this fire station considered a "Super Station" or anything? Because it's huge!

  • @FmasterJG The developer of the high-rise office tower above the station, 125 High Street, offered to build a new fire station into the complex in exchange for incorporating the footprint of the old fire station into his project. With that negotiating leverage and the developer's deep pockets, the BFD could likely be generous in specifying what they wanted for a new station.

  • Tower Ladder 3 has the siren that ALL fire apparatus should have imo...

  • they got a new engine

  • Boston Sucks Go Yankees

  • @xst276 HELL YEAH!. SCREW BOSTON, FOR REAL. NEW YORK CITY (my hometown) & CHICAGO ALL DAY, BABY!.

  • Boston sucks they need to update!

  • @xst276 THEY DO, INDEED, SUCKS MAJOR ASS, SERIOUSLY!. & PLUS, THEY DON'T DESERVE TO HAVE SHIT, SERIOUSLY!. NEW YORK CITY (my hometown) & CHICAGO ALL DAY, BABY!.

  • That was the ugliest spare I've seen. They should have had their 1995 e-one with them. Was that rig out of service at the time?

  • Why didn't the Ladder use it's Q?

  • @marcsw5000 are you retarded?

  • Comment removed

  • @aceofspades245

No, I'm not so please don't say that!

People with disabilities, like me, find that extremely offensive you know.

All I was asking was why didn't the Ladder keep it's Q on?

    That's what I meant!

  • @marcsw5000 lmao bro i was kidding calm down

  • @aceofspades245

    Its OK, don't worry!

Just had some bad experiences before that's all.

    Peace! :-)

  • That Q gave me a stiffy

  • @stallworthjr14 A WHAT!!?. WHAT'S A STIFFY?.

  • i thought blue lights were for police?

  • @RickySouthwell They are but Mass. law says that all FD trucks have to have 1 blue light on the back all the other lights are red

  • That is a pretty bad spare for engine 10. I've seen better. Or is that the regular apparatus they used?

  • I'm thinking, yes! They're finally using the Q! Then as they round the corner, damn!

  • well boys one thing is for sure the day of this video it was god dam cold did ya see the fog from the exhaust, just love the low whine of the siren and the air horns nothing beats it.....

  • @smokeydabear17

    Yeah, it was cold!

  • thats a pretty awesome lookin fire house

  • @firebuff107 Hey no problem i appriciate the apology though.

  • nice tower truck love the blue light on the back

  • @jhamp2578 Most fire trucks in Massachusetts have them.

  • they have a new engine now

  • @bfd98 YEAH!. SO!. THEY (Boston) STILL SUCKS TESTICLES EASILY!. NEW YORK CITY (my hometown) & CHICAGO ALL DAY!.

  • @TLJAWSIMIB K...

  • @bfd98 WHATEVER!.

  • @TLJAWSIMIB Wow. STFU. You post that on every Boston Fire Video. NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU THINK.

  • @matredsoxfan YOU AGAIN!?.

  • @TLJAWSIMIB Yes Me Again. I live outside Boston. If I lived outside New York I would probably like it but don't bash another town just because you live in New York. I have no problem with New York so why do you have one with Boston.

  • @matredsoxfan IF YOU DON'T KNOW!.. NOW YOU KNOW!. NIGGAH!. HUH!.

  • dam...besides the ladder,which is buetiful, u gotta get a new engine

  • I don't know about Mass. law but in New York State they had to change the V & T laws to allow Police cars to have blue lights facing the rear and the reason was for better visibility. The vollies in NYS have blue lights.

  • @Wonkawillie77 A flashing blue light in the back means that is is owned by a municipality.

  • @LiberalNoob Every state is different as we have just proved. Stay safe.

  • @LiberalNoob The blue light on the rear of fire apparatuses in MA is put on trucks that respond to calls on the highway. It is so the drivers approaching the incident on the highway dont mistake the red light as a brake light and that its actually an emergency vehicle

  • Hmmm thats how it was explained to me. Do you know if the rear facing reds for PD is true? I havent seen any cruisers without rear reds except sturbridge.

  • way to use the real siren tower7

  • Isn't Engine 10 the fire station apparatus over by Children's hospital boston over on Longwood Ave?

  • There's nothing on Longwood. You're probably thinking of 37 which is a couple blocks away on Huntington, although 80 years ago 37 was on Longwood more or less where the Brigham is now.

  • Oh Yeah, It's over on purchase street which is kind of near Longwood, my mistake.

  • Nah, it's not even close to Longwood ... take a look at a street map.

  • no its on purchase st.

  • Thats what i said to mpflynn47

  • what the heck ? Time to make a new video guys. those are the old engine. But anyway I drive by this station many times. I think is is where you take the firefighter test also.

  • what a great tower ladder. nice real Q

  • nice midmount

  • Engine 10 looks old.

  • Probably a spare.

  • GO BOSTON FIRE

  • "Q"

  • BakupAlarmIsPow3rcal u suck mass is the shit u can eatt its balls fucker lol

  • it sher does! sorry guys but that engine is just terrible

  • well well well, look who's back!

  • you suck!

  • who me?

  • no, PowercallSirensSuck7 sucks ;-)

  • Do you realize that you're making a complete ass of yourself, not to mention pissing on your family's legacy by publicly using your last name in this context? It's not as if there's a bunch of Magoons in Boston Fire on whom this idiocy could be pinned. There are actually only two and I have a very hard time believing the elder would stoop to this level of childishness.

  • Yeah I have seen you at fires I was sparking at. I have to admit that at first all I saw was an overweight ginger kid. Then I saw you fire into action. Being a Jake is in your blood. It's all you know. I bet you come from a long line of unsung heroes and patriots. I was proud to give you water and help you make up. Semper Fi Mac

  • they do look tough, have you ever seen engine 21? now thats tough

  • have you ever seen me? I'm tough.

  • Oh man! Those new Pierce tower ladders look tough as hell in Boston =)

  • Nice house, E21s quarters are better

  • nice station

  • what the fuck is wrong with you? Go suck a dick

  • nice ladder

  • engine 10 is old or reserve

  • Thats a wicked old spare. They now have a 09 or 08 E-one

  • WTF?! Boston Fire Department STILL runs apparatus with open cabs/jumpseats? Or is this a Reserve Engine?

  • chill out man thats a reserve.they run a new 2008 e-one now.before they had a 1994 e-one.thats prob a 1988 e-one

  • That reserve is an 87 and 10's old piece was a 1995.

  • yeah iknow i made a mistake and 42 is a 95 to

  • I have to agree that they have an impressive Q but division 1 isn't my style. I like dirty neighborhoods that like to burn. A lot of wood out in Division 2. I'd like to spend a day downtown to learn high rise scenarios, but the heart of the Boston Fire Dept. lies in Division 2. If you want to talk salty, talk Dorchester.

  • too bad mass. sucks balls

  • it does..

  • Hey nice Q on that ladder........well, it WAS if you know what I mean.

  • Please explain me what is a Q, and what do you mean about WAS ?

  • They let the Q die down and turned the electronic on as they turned the corner.

  • ah, okay, thought you mean the Q was disposed in Bosten. I'm relieved now :-)

  • The Q is the mechanical Siren. A Great example of it winding up is at :41 seconds

  • oh, i know you mean the Q-siren i think, but i still wanna know what's about your WAS

  • @MadMaxturtle what RDG484 meant was the q was nice while it lasted, but after it went up & down once, the guy turned on the sad electronic.

  • wow that is a nice ladder truck

  • Cool Vid, that blue LED in the back looks really cool.

  • This fire station is under a giant tall building. i think place is where you are taking the test to become a fireman.

  • Is that Malibu a Chief vehicle?

  • As far as I know, all DC's have Tahoes and above that they use Suburbans. It's probably an inspector or something along that line.

  • o

    ok

    thnx

  • Hey tmsboston122 we hear what company the tillers are gonna be i dont think e-1 makes tiller Pierce then?

  • Just a heads up to the guy mentioning tillers, Boston is ordering 3 for delivery in early 2009.

  • Well im not sure where you heard that because thats old news and im pretty sure there not because one of the tiller was supposed to go to ladder 1 and they just got a new truck...so 09 will bring 3 pumps and 3 rearmounts like this year did...they dont have the money to buy the tillers they need too many trucks right now

  • I know, the new rearmounts have already or soon will be delivered and will be going to ladders 1, 16 and 28 I believe with 1's pierce going to 11. I just saw some of the papers and noticed that they were 100's, not the usual 110' and for some reason that stuck with me as them having ordered the tillers even though it obviously did not indicate that.

  • love the tower ladder

  • We're this station at?

  • This is central, I believe... On Purchase St.

  • yes it is

  • COOL!

  • does anybody know the NFPA standard on how many lights a truck has to have ?

  • If i had a volunteer dpartment i would have the apparatus lit up like christmas trees

  • hey, dont bash the blue lights, they are twice as bright as red lights at night....

  • I Like The Second Fire Trucks Sound Better Then The First One!

  • Im A Firefighter=D

  • I do agree with having tillers. Boston needs tillers. Should be more like the Philadelphia Fire Department...

26 of its 29 ladder companies are tillers.

Anyway, one of my favorite tiller fleets is Philly's FD.

  • i dont like the blue lights on the trucks

  • The blue light is department preference, but is becoming more common on apparatus around here, my department runs one blue light on the drivers side rear as well.

  • Actually, the blue light is required by MA Law for apparatus that will be operated on the interstates. That's why 99% of the departments in Ma have blue to the drivers side rear.

  • Yeah MA you cant have any blues in the front but its required to have at least one rear facing blue. And for MA police its required to have rear facing reds.

  • Eh i guess it increases visability. All i know is all LEDS get my attention.

  • Hahaha I myself are a Masshole, and live in one of the most stuck up towns. But i agree our state has a unusally high number of dumbasses.

  • priceless

  • @68Engine68 : Obviously you have never been to the deep south....you want to see an unusually high number of dumbasses try Mississippi, Arkansas or Louisiana....holy shit!....they are as dumb as a box of rocks!

  • @Wonkawillie77 Oh i have been south, some places in the north have very retarded people. But i agree i dont think ive had such an urge to hvae road rage as when i was in the south.

  • Question...why the single blue light on the left-rear step and nowhere else on the rig? Is that a state requirement or department preference?

  • good amount..yea why from a buff standpoint

  • Know a lot?

  • no i live near boston...know alot about bfd

  • It actually is corrected once in and watching the video, but when listed with all the other videos it still says Engine 5....wonder why?

  • Yup, much better.

  • yeah, I know :-) You guys are from the BFD?? It was my first visit to the USA, and I was so impressed when I saw these awesame trucks in reality. I was invited to do a shift with the guys from North Reading Fire Department on their engine. Really great

  • yea...it i wasnt pissed lol was just telling you

  • Excuse me guys, my fault... Now it's correct, right?

  • running a spare rig...engine 5 is in eastie thats purchase st engine 10 TL 3 and Rescue 1 with division 1

  • its engine 10

  • How do you know that's Engine 5?
