if we move out of california to live in tornado country, I would have missed the earthquakes, but it looks like oklahoma offers the best of both worlds!
A study of seismic activity near Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport by researchers from SMU and UT-Austin reveals that the operation of a saltwater injection disposal well in the area was a "plausible cause" for the series of small earthquakes that occurred in the area between October 30, 2008, and May 16, 2009.
lol i hate it when people have a friggin 3.1 or 4.0 and people get all scared and freak out and think theyre going to die and all. try a 4.4 on the epicenter, try a 4.8, try a 5.5, try a5.8 , try a 6.0, try a 7.2. Jesus people, grow up. anything in the 3's or lower 4's is nothing really to talk about.
@TheBassguy1 when you live in an area where earthquakes are not a daily occurrence it is a big deal. Just like people who do not live in tornado alley make a big deal out of an EF 0 or EF 1 tornado or people who do not live in winter storm prone areas close down school/business for 2 inches of snow. It's all relative.
@futrphd Earthquakes have their intensities whether youve felt hundreds or none. The 4.4 we ad, the intensity reports on earthquake.usgs.gov said that regular people that made a response said mainly III or II. This Oklahoma one the people responded with IV and V.

Are you aware that most Oklahoma home owner's insurance does not cover earthquakes or earth movement? I'm adding it to mine.

I was really surprised to see that OK had earthquakes frequently. I saw the history on the USGS earthquake page.
