  • @Crystallographer00 most definitely

  • @OrionWong1 Isn't it obvious? It's about how people sit idly by and watch wars, genocides and blood being shed like it was some kind of entertainment show. It's about how people are politically apathetic and find the horrors in the world to be nothing but entertainment, instead of being moved and angered by it.

  • Can someone tell me what is the message of this song? Is it about horrible celebrities?

  • i need 3 colors of herman millers now white green or black is fine also

  • escuchen riesgo una de las mejores post-punk bandas dl mundo. la pueden oir en youtube solo escribiendo riesgo señal

  • haha when i turned 18 i was going through a mad gang of four fase and this was muh track...

  • @hilltoppin you are mistaken the ak-47 takes a 7.62x 39 cartridge however if your talking about the Romanian WASR 10 ak clone it can be bored for a 5.56 or 5.45

  • @cptdickjackman

If you look closer you'll see, I said AK-74, which was chambered for the 5.45x39.

  • Not their best song, but nice.

  • I've just seen Gang of Four in Pordenone (it) .Fantastic , Wonderful ,I was in Pordenone to see Iggy and the Stooges , but honestly, I really like most Gang of four! they hit me!

  • genius this track and album makes Crass look like hippy crunch. har har har.

  • An interesting tie in: 5.45mm was widely used in AK-74s in the soviet war in Afghanistan. Guerrilla war struggle, indeed.

Whether this was intended or not is to be decided, but I love looking for double meanings in music, the first obviously being 5:45, quarter to six.

  • wow. 1979? really? has it been THAT long?

  • still body now no movement yet

five men lie die flat on their backs

where they born to lie in state

    defend the ever stagnant great.

  • PANGIT

  • @jetthepogi MAGANDA!

  • stupid question (I'm sure) but the song is called 5.45?? Does that have something to do with an old floppy disk?

  • 5:45 pm - that's the time when news used to be on the television.

  • Oh.. got it. thanks

  • Thats a wonderful Correlation MarkedwardBlacksmith

  • @MarkEdwardBlacksmith its also the time wwII started

  • Quarter to six, aka 5:45.

  • yyy2012yyy are you a retard thats the time news use to be on at

  • the actual name of the song is "5.45". filippopri has the songs listed. I have the album. I had to look it up though, as I just put it on and listen. Great track 'ey?

  • Yeah this ain't the Entertainment version. I know that one and the build is much more dramatic.

We used to hang out in my room rockin out to that song...

  • is this live or a session? or is there another version on different releases of the album?(as the info, despite how little italian(unless its catalan or something?) i speak(none) seems to imply its from the album?)

    nice upload all the same

  • I'm Italian, and I can say that's not from the 1995 version of Entertainment!; sounds rather like an earlier version of the song...

By the way, the caption says: "British post-punk band, one of the most imitated on the last two decades".

  • Gang Of Four's music is paradoxical: both cold and exciting. They don't make music like this today...

  • ironic, considering i think this is the return the gift version which was release relatively

  • @lyonslaforet Yes they do! Check out Fool's Day by Blur!

  • @lyonslaforet Well said!

  • @lyonslaforet I love how you put that...it's so true! Gang of 4 blew my mind in 1982!

  • @ROCKSLIDZ They're the best post punk band in the history of rock with Wire! I've seen Wire live and I would love to see Gang Of Four live!

  • @lyonslaforet Guess what? I hope to see them very soon, they're on tour :)

  • @ROCKSLIDZ I'm seeing them in about 3 hours...

  • And the award for "Creepiest Song Ever Based on a Harmonica Riff" goes to...

  • I think the sound comes from a melodica, not a harmonica.

  • *inserts adjective*

  • Rad.

  • amazing lyrics

  • best song ever

  • godlike

  • "Why Theory ? by Gang of Four, was inspired by Gramsci !"
