  • why no pythons?

  • im my opinion i think the benefits of having having snakes is the same as having a dog or cat. snakes also can be loving, caring and as weird as it sounds cuddler's, yes i said cuddler's my boa and bp like it curl up by my neck or the bend of my arm. and will even sit and watch tv with me. and like you said there very low maintance so if you go on vaca you dont have to get someone over everyday to feed them or take them out

  • there brilliant because if you don't like the neibours cat..... easy fix

  • amzing video well impreased man

  • apollo! name him apollo!

  • aww

  • choose odisious!

  • You really shouldn't turn the lights off in their cages because it is very bad for them cause all reptiles need light to live.

  • i just wanna clarify, whats the differesnce of a python from a boa?

  • @geomango20 Boas give birth to live young while pythons lay eggs. However they are both from the boide family.

  • well my reasons for keepin snakes besides the fact that they make great pets is that i have asthma so i can't really have cants and dogs running around the house.

snakes don't have fur or hair so their perfect pets for people allergic to cats or dogs.

plus if u don't like barkin and piss on the couch snakes are perfect.

  • isnt it dangerous to have a snake?

  • @halolis If you know what your doing than no. Most snakes dont even reach lengths of 5 feet. And most snakes are really tame.

  • @halolis Overall, it's probably less dangerous than having a dog.

  • @halolis it isnt dangerous if you look after it properly and handle it often

  • what is your longest snake and does it have a name?

  • i love snakes infact my hubby and i have 3 snakes and a skink. our ca king is shinobi our motley corn is bob marley and our ball python is atlas and the skink is bluebell. and mack1time i have always wondered, How old are you and how long have you been breeding and what are your prices for boas

  • @calkingshinobi

I am 26 years old and have been keeping or involved with reptiles since 2001

Check my website for prices and availability

  • i love snakes and lizards i got a ball python and a few lizards

  • well snakes arent a "huge" responsibility like a dog. but i guess they are if you have that many

  • BHB!

  • a better question is why not snakes!

  • i think that your a cool person and yes snakes are the coolest pets to have

  • awesome constrictors =)

  • fuck that is alot of snake i am geting my first snake a corn some time this week how many do you have

  • name: Hephestus the forge god

  • hey how do you heat your rack system

  • name: Ceasar

  • snakes are ammassing (unkike my spelling) they are passive creatures who rarely bite and are great if you want a low mantanense pet.

  • hey mack1time or anyone who sees this, i think i want a snake but im not sure, i think i could handle feeding frozen mice but i couldn't do rats because my dad used to own rats and i like em more than mice, but how do i convence them to even consider a pet snake? besides the whole "im resposible blah blah blah" i am its just that thats not the problem its what they eat, my parents both LOVE rats and mice. but how do i know if i want a snake? i think i do but again im not sure if ill like them

  • check my video called "why snakes

    "

  • actually garter snakes can be fed fish

  • yeah i've read that, seems pretty interesting

  • snakes are the best cause they dont bark all fucking day lol. no meow meow either

  • I would love to get a Snowcorn...but i don't have any money right now and my mom would flip out cause she hates snakes...

  • can you make a video of how to breed

  • atlas

  • i have 1 bearded dragon for about 3 months now and she broke 2 legs jumpin off a fuckin branch in her cage i mean wtf and she gets plenty of calciuam and vitiam d3 lol jus felt like sharin but im lookin into gettin a albino ball python if anyone thinks thats a good starter snake message me =-) or a cornsnake lol idk which tell me which is better message me!!!!

  • there both pretty docile boa's are the best and calmest out of boa's corns and pythons out of the 2 i would get a corn there not picky and have the temperment issues and shyness pythons can have

  • I love all of your videos, and am thinking of starting up a collection of my own shortly after I'm done University. In the meantime I'm enjoying my Honduran Milk Snake I've had for about a year now.

  • Hey Mitch...im getting really into snakes. I already have 4 crested geckos, and I love them. But i was wondering what is a good starter snake?

  • I would start out with a colubrid like a cornsnake

  • @mack1time hi ....what is the length of your three tier cage with the boas

    Thanks

    trentleevarga

  • @mack1time Do hognose snakes make great first pet snakes?

  • get a boa, boas are bomb.

  • absolutly awesome!!

  • Great video! Spot-on! You just can't beat snakes... So easy, so fun, so beautiful! :D

  • im getting a red tail boa ive alays wanted 1 so i explained this to my mom and now im getting 1:)

  • hey kool vid im thinkin zues...let me know what you think

  • hydra

  • got my self a cornsnake and a ball python because of this video. i remember watching this and realising i love snakes.. i only got my ball python yesterday, but i had my cornsnake since the 10th of march.

  • glad I could help!

    Enjoy your new pets!

  • odin if u never named one that

  • ive never had a snake. and this guy on craigs list is sellin a red tail boa with 20 gallon tank its 9 months old and it comes with everything. and another guy is sellin a ball python with 50 gallon tank with everything also both selling for 100$. witch one should i get? and do you have to get rabbits for the boa?

  • both snakes are great, i would personally go for the boa, i think they are great, but right nw i am in australia and cant have them xD

BUT since its gonna be your first snake, i think the ball python would be good for a starter, then are small snakes reall easy to handle and care. i like the boa cause it seems more exotic, and they arent snappy, they are very tame and handle easy, but they d0 get a bit bigger, ....soo bottom line...size what size you want? your choice, both great tame snakes :p

  • yeah idk what to get i found both on craigslist they seriously live right next to each other, but i dont want to have no 10 foot snake . he said its 9 months or 1 and a half years old one of those but how long would it tank to get to 10 feet i would like to have like a 6 foot one but idk what to do. there both for 100 bucks but one comes with a boa and small tank and one comes with ball python and big tank and they both come with everything for the tanks.

  • well you would defenitly have t buy a proper enclosure for the boa, meamine enclosures are ood, the are easy to clean and are cheap, a god 8 foot tank would be great

as the ball python the biger the enclosure the better!

lol anyway ur choice fr the size

  • i have no idea..

what would you get if ti was your choice?

ball python with 55 gallon tank or

red tail boa with 20 gallon tank

  • i would take option #2 and then sell that tank to get a bigger one. but thats cause i already have owned snakes, if u are really keen with snakes get the second one, if u are not to sure get the ball python

  • SNAKES ROCK!!! :D

  • the numer 1 good thing about snakes is the lasses love um, always a winner

  • Call em hercules

  • "TITAN " that would be an amasing name

"TITAN" lol think about it lol keep up the nice work man

  • They're quiet and don't make a mess. And also good for people who have allergies haha.

  • Snakes are aweosme!

  • have any of your snkes escaped

  • my kingsnake escaped 3 times, he was dubbed hoodini

  • what do u have as bedding???

    aspen??...

  • yea its aspen

  • Nice vid man!!! 5 Stars!!..

  • how bout hermes, or zeus. i think im a little late but o well. lol

  • I already got a Hermes and a Zeus so I went with Morpheus.

I am doing an update on the 4 this week.

  • It sucks that most people think snakes are gross, evil things, but once a person gives them a chance ,they realize how amazing they really are. And before you even know it they want one too! Religious people are the worst around snakes! Its so so wierd... but at least Ive changed a couple minds = ]

  • Tell me about it. I worked in a pet store and I've seen people literally ask if we have snakes and then leave before I say anything other than "yes...".

Its not really weird that Religious people are the worst around snakes, theres the whole serpent and garden of eden thing. heh. Although some people do come from areas with poisonous snakes, and I guess I dont blame them for their fear.

  • you could go with aries the god of war

  • how about pan the god of the wild

  • you should name him possiden :)

  • yup mu mom is 100% get me a snake thanx to this vid!!!!!!

  • Hey i have alway been fascinated with snakes although i dont have as many snake no were near it. I have three Corns a Amel Stripe a Arizonian Corn and a Ultra Motley Het carmel. For my Ultra motley i went for a greek name which is 'Amos'. I thought it was an awesum name and thought it was cool Whats your website?

  • Nice video, and some really nice looking snakes you have there. Thanks for sharing them.

  • Can you make money breeding snakes?

  • I would name the snake Apollo

  • Why not snakes is the question lmao

  • did u build the racks

  • fxxx cool

  • at 4:45... WOW what a gorgeous clean ,clean salmon!!

  • hey what type of bedding do u use i use aspen i was just wondering wat u use

  • various non scented aspen.

From the finer strands to the bulkier stuff!

  • have you tried the herpstat pro? it is a wonderful thermostat whick is what one would expect from this company.

  • I got the herpstat ND

    Thanks tho!

  • YW! Spyder Robotics makes a great product.

  • Excellent video! Now everyone go buy a snake! ;)

  • lol thats the spirit

  • dude that is so badass i em go in to buy a snake

  • hey what substrate you got em on ? that aspen shavings or whatever? i have mine on newspaper but i'm going to change cuz its sort of unsightly after a couple of days... how often you do a full substrate change? once every few months only eh?

  • aspen is the way to go, more natural looking, oderless and absorbs quite well.

I do a complete change 1 time every 6 months and spot clean daily.

  • alright i'm going to swtich over, thanks bro

  • another thing is if you have allergies reptiles are a perfect alternative i dont have allergies but some people do

  • hey im building a cage for my columbian im making it 5x3x3 is that big enough for an adult female?

  • my females are in 4 x 2 x 16 inches so you will be fine, check my custom enclosure videos!

  • It's nice to see a video highlighting this questiong. I have people thinking I'm a Satanist or have a death wish (because obviously ALL snakes are killing machines that will slide up next to you in bed and eat you!) lol. Some nice animals you have there. Do you breed them yourself? x

  • can a ball python live in a 20 gal ?

  • no not for too long...

  • then whats a good tank size

  • Amazing snakes! Absolutely gorgeous!

Hmm... do you have a Morpheus yet? Greek god of dreams. Was going to name our ball python that, until we found out she was a girl. :)

  • The Benifits of having a boa is totaly hours of fun with it!

  • i do not know the law's and cannot contact the code enforcment ppl till monday, but they are calling me a "breeder" and that i have 'exodic" pets. im unsure of what im alowed to have, and not allowed to have!

i do not know what to do, i want to keep my pet's but i cant afford to be evicted!

    please someone help :(

  • yup I would call the autorities but if it was in your lease agreement you may be hooped.

I have a full house and am good friends with the landlord so I was lucky, although all my pets were legal and so was feeding them.

  • Well i looked up the law's, it says all my pet's are legal, and the lease contract for the place doesent really say anything about exodic's.

I think we will be fine, but if the landlord keep's it up i think we will take it to chourt and charge her for invading our privicy and harassment.

we just signed a new lease about 6weeks ago for 6mth's so as soon as that is up (or we might break it) we will be buying our own house to avoid this sort of thing.

ill let you know what happens.

    thanks

  • they came into my appartment one day before a bug sprayer came in (we have had bed bug's for over a year from this place too!) without notice, we knew the bug sprayer was coming but NOT them, they saw the pet's and now they are calling all kind's of zone and code enforcement ppl, and saying they are going to evict us if we dont get rid of EVERYTHING but our cat!

  • mack1time, i know you had this problem a bit ago, so im asking you, and other herper's for some advice.

I live in a APT and they just found out about my pet's.

They knew about my lizards (4 bearded dragons, 1 iguana, 1uromastyx) but dident know about my girlfriends mice and hampsters (about 15mice and 2 teddy bear hampsters)

I breed some of the beardies and had a stirefoam incubater with about 32 eggs in it also.

  • You said they smell on a big crap day but you didn't tell the people how often they crap.... like once a month or so.... don't have to walk them, they chill with you and watch youtube... lol. Ozzy (3 yr old male ball python) watches youtube with me all the time... lol. I've been meaning to ask you... do you just use heat pads under the big boa cages? Just wonder. Really cool videos... Oh and Cats suck! : )

  • Artamos or Herakles

  • I'll never buy another animal unless it is a snake.

  • I agree; the main reason why I love snakes is because they are so fascinating. Probably the strangest animals on Earth. Also like you said, they're not high-maitenance or expensive so one can keep many of them.

  • very exotic creatures

    almost alien like

  • the boa at 4:45 is absolutely beautiful

  • thanks Hyperion is one of my favorites too!

  • As far as names how about Helios(God of the Sun) or Fama(God of Fame).

Let me know if you like them.

  • I already had a helios so I am not sure...

Fama is one to think about and thanks...

  • Thats good to hear! And if you dont mind if you ever do a shoutout vid include me.

  • not a god but one of my favorites is Ulysses, god it's been so long since i've read the stories i forget how to spell it :/ but nice vid completely agree although i couldn't live without my dogs...

  • same here lol i liove snakes couldnt live without my black lab or bisingy idk how to spell it

  • they are just amazing animals. even past the whole exotic aspect of them they are just fun to watch move around! cage setup is also one of my favorite things, making stuff to climb on and playing around with different furniture pieces.

    cody

  • yes making a natural looking viv is always fun!

  • my reson is that theres nothing els that comes close 2 looking like a snake and the colurs are amazing plus they are lovly 2 handle so intresting!!

  • great points!

  • the benafits for me are nothaving to take hours out of your day to walk a dog or get them groomed also you can get away with keeping them in no animal premasis coz there not noisy if u get me also there COOL how many people so u no that have got a snake if its britain not so many if its america and canada maybee a few more and they are cheap and can be left to do there own thing for a week no problem as lond of they have got heat and water~!!!!

  • wow i missed some good points there.

    No noise or whining!

  • egsacly

  • Nice!

  • I'm trying to get my mom to let me have one what should i tell her ? and does it hurt when they bite ?

  • Tell her I have over 40 snakes x 4 years and I have never been bit.

If you read your pet you will be able to tell the mood and stay clear of a peed or hungry snake. A good leather glove will help protect from any bites as well!

  • thay wont bite if u get the right 1

  • i hade whwn people say eeww why do you have a snake and alls i say is why do you have a dog think about it name 1 reason not to get a snake if you dont like the idea of feeding rats them feed them dead i mean im not a nerd lol but some people just say stuff that they dont have a clue about in other words snakes are fucking awesome petssss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • thanks

  • i always liked the name socrates ik it really isn't a greek god's name but it is cool.

  • Great video Mitch!

It's funny how several years ago I used to be afraid of these guys (due to lack of knowledge about them). But after actually getting to become familiar with them and finally getting to the point of owning one, there's just no feeling like it. You pretty much nailed all the pros to owning a snake, except for that feeling which can't be explained until they own one themselves.

  • Yup me too, I was deathly afraid till I leaarnt more about them, now I am like the snake whisperer and they never even try to bite me cause we are at peace with each other.

  • AIOLOS-

Means "quick-moving, nimble" in Greek. This was the name of the Greek god of the winds.

  • name the motley Zues or Achilles

  • I am liking Achilles

  • what morph was the boa at 0:33? nice collection and pints o n getting snakes. peace out

  • i have to get a snake lol

  • that was the point , so thanks

  • nice vid! I think a good reason to have snakes is that when you decide to get one or more there are sooooo many different different types! Cornsnakes, Boa, ball, etc.... and then theres are the morphs! the choices are endless! I still have trouble deciding what snake will be next?!? lol 5*****

  • BIG CRAP DAY lmfao

  • theres no way to really explain it snakes are just so sick.

  • call dat nigga hercules

  • name him prometheus after the god of fire

  • Awesome video man.

    5*

  • call him kratos, ghost of spartan. from gods of war

  • nice video. don't have a snake yet but i plan on starting with a corn in a next few weeks. names i like are Hephaestus: god of fire or Poseidon: God of the Sea

  • How Bout Ajax-the name of to greek heroes who faught in the Trojan war

Angra Mainyu - The god of darknes, death and destruction

  • i got the same blue paper towel substrate and i live in the UK how cool, great vid and wicked motley

  • how about ADONIS ..meaning lord

  • it doesnt just mean lord Adonis was a shepard who was killed why hunting in which the anename flower rose from his blood because aphrodite loved him. I was also going to suggest that

  • You should mention how beautifull snakes are lol.

  • Call him Erebus - God of Darkness and Shadows!

  • come on bro! ARES! the god of war! lol. thats the best one! im really into greek mythology too!

  • hypnos- god of sleep...lol...or

    Eris-god of strife and discord

  • how about the name DEIMOS it means terror in greek and is a son of the greek god ares.

  • u cant b alergikt to them 2

  • i know theyre not greek, theyre norweegan. but i love the names odin and thor. and if i had a rack should i get the side board all the way up,does you corn rack have enough stabability to hold leo hides n what not

  • Man everyone on youtube is having trouble getting High Quaity.

how the hell do you do it?!

  • Chicks dig big snakes!

  • One more thing to add why snakes. They dont have dander and people aren't allergic to them. Or leave your close covered in fur.

I can tell you who snakes have there rep to but i dont want to be flamed with hate comments lol.

  • boas rule

  • call him Argus, the guy with like 100 eyes.

  • Snakes are hypo allergenic.. which means.. people who are allergic to cats or dogs.. or animal dandruff dont have to worry about snakes..

  • kool vid 5 *

  • your pretty right on, i think. If people want a companion, and they want the hassle that can be, get a dog, but snakes can be very docile and make great pets.

  • do u breed your own mice/rats? or do u ever plan?

  • damn the boa in the middle stack cage is huge
