  • what a great band, I love this song I heard it the first time long ago, in my childhood actually, I did not know what it is about, now that I speak some English I understand it and let me tell it goes with me.

  • Saw Dave Mason in Austin, Texas in 1988 and let me tell you, this guy is the real deal. And as a drummer of some note, HIS drummer, Rick Jager just blew me away. Tight is the best word to describe him. Dave, you're one of the most underated stars in the sky. But I and many others know where you are.

  • this song sheds light on it we just disagree. There are no bad guys ,there are no good guys.We only disagee cause there is only you and me.It is OK to disagree.

  • Beautiful Song. Incredibly well done live. 29 years old, just heard this song on SIRIUS radio and fell in love with it. Robotic music out there right now is so pathetic and terrible. This is music!

  • This song reminds me of my brother we just grew up diffrently

  • Friendship. If you find one true friend in life, hang on to them.

  • I LOVE YOU DAVE!!!! Loved spending dinner with you years ago. would like to have another with out the "possee" :)

  • ok... wilco.... now name a 60s act that is this tight. 0.

  • This song takes me back to long ago when life was a little easier than it is today.

  • I try not say the F word on you tube.... BUT I have to say.. I FUCKIN FUCKIN love this song... almost makes me cry.

  • It prompted me to file for divorce and I'm not even married! Just seemed like the right thing to do.

  • Great to see Dave..still makin money from his past :-}

  • Was a kid in the 70's and remember driving in parents car to this song. Boy they had good taste in music back then

  • @chefchris64 Do you remember Nights Are Forever Without You? lol Those were the good days!

  • The original is the best. the version by billy dean is good but doesn't touch this!

  • That comment about Freddie Kruger probably sounded funny as it bounced around in your pea brain.

  • damn this song is awesome, I know every fuckstick on youtube says this but im 21 and will be listening to this song forever

  • @tbirdsport302 I played bass with all of these guys when you weren't born, 69 70 Credence ., the whole scene, all of San Francisco, many recording studios, enjoy that 21, 60 creeps up on all of us. We all wish we could have had you with us back then, your turn now!

  • @tbirdsport302 love it i am a fine cat girl of 46 and i like that your digging.......... 1 of my fav'''s

  • that pretty much tells it all

  • always loved this song

  • The drumming was not way ahead, or rushed. It was fine.

  • Been away, haven't seen you in a while.

  • Seen him perform as part of Fleetwood Mac back in the late 90s in Charlotte NC. This song was the highlight of the show!

  • Jim Krueger actually penned this song. check out some of his stuff with Dave. They were the Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds of their day.

  • @DIRTKNAPFX - WOW! FREDDY KRUEGERS BROTHER?

  • wow...the drummer is WAAAAAY ahead of the beat. Dave....good call on getting a new drmr. That was really hard to listen to.

  • awh he is...great!

  • 12 strings of amazing...

  • holy crap that was good......not many can pull even their own songs off live and that was perfect.....the backing vocals are spot on....

  • Nice to see Dave's voice is still strong and crisp after almost 35-40 years of performing this song

  • watch?v=Hpy-psuDz6U

  • you dont find many people that can play a 12 string these days wish there were more like this!

  • The percussion is.... wonderful!! Crisp, thuddy where it needs to be, etc...

  • great job live on classic oldie...

  • This concert was 2007? He was 61 yrsold here then. Sounds real good.

  • @Grendelmonster8u june 5 2001

  • Great oldies...

  • I heard this the other day on the radio on the way to work and it has been

haunting me. It's so beautiful....they lyrics and the music. Timeless, it's true.

  • LOVE THIS SONG. Saw him in concert in Poughkeepsie area many years ago!! Long live Dave. Thank you.

  • this song kicks arse

  • AN OLDIE BUT GOODIE- ONE OF MY FAVORITES OF ALL TIME.... PLUS; BEST DESCRIBES MY LIFE ABOUT NOW!

  • what a grrreat fn song!

  • 7 people agree to disagree

  • Sweet

  • Great Live band...wow!! I'm amazed by the playing and singing all live!!!!

  • @123wesn You see unlike today's artists who need auto tuning and need to lipsync to sound good, these people are true artists! And i am would love to wake up my generation of teens to wake up and go back to the true music of yesteryear and give up the overdramatic sad gimic that artists today have reduced themselves 2!

  • I hesitate to write it, but... it's timeless. I heard this so long ago. The Eighties I am sure and it still shines just as brightly now as it did then. Real music. No throngs of choreographed dancers, CG, and auto-fader. Wow.

  • One of the best songs ever written, IMO. Mason's such a brilliant singer/songwriter... There are artists today who may well reach the iconic staus that Mason and his contempraries have, but they're few and far between. Ahh, the memories!

  • @rivetgun2000 AMEN!!! just as good as the album version, huh?

  • @Beechbaybee at least as good

  • dave mason is my uncle on my dads side. no lie my names brad mason.

  • @RoadWarriorsCarClub i just landed on the space shuttle

  • I found Dave Mason when I was 17, many years ago, he was so cool! And he still is! You go Dave! I hope to see you in Snoqualmie.

  • Yes open E tuning...

  • Is this in open E?

  • Great to see Dave sounding as great as ever.

  • To me this song is about what would happen if the me of today would meet me from 15 years ago. Don't mean to trip anyone out but life's events, trials, and tribulations can change a man.

  • This man has real soul. What a talent!

  • nice,,,,!!!!

  • i'm going to see Jeff beck on 28 March and Dave Mason 8 of April can't wait wow

  • Was this a recent show? He still sounds great.

  • going to see him on april 8 can't wait

  • One of the songs I'm writing is inspired by this sound. Beautiful song....

  • Awesome!

  • say thanks to jim kruger, he is the bald guitar plyer on this stage. Jim wrote all you quote. God Bless Jim Kruger

  • @brian1861 Yes I am aware of Jim Kreugers contrbutions to most if not all of masons music. He has been Dave's guitar player since God was a boy. But thanks for keeping me honest. Great combination of talent.

  • these cats still rock........

  • I remember seeing Dave back in the 70`s. He played a solid show. No B.S. Just a great night of music. A good time was had by all...

  • awesome song..makes me think about someone i dated at 15 and dated again at 40 something and it just didnt happen

  • Dave did a great version of All along the Watchtower.....

  • Dave carries me back many years when i first became a DJ on a freestyle rock station...his voice is still just as clean and unmistakable as it was then...i think my favs are this one --of course---will u still love me tomorrow, and let it go, let it flow. THANK YOU DAVE FOR SHARING ONE OF YOUR MANY TALENTS WITH ALL OF US! NIK

  • can anyone say that this song hasn't applied to their life at some point? classic lyrics...

  • Timeless classic. You're first pulled in by the acoustic guitars, and the lyrics keep you, with their sad story of two people who've grown apart. And he can't help but entertain one last thought of giving it another go ("...have you got a place to stay..."), which is a place many of us have been, and have tried. And finally the sad but peaceful resolution ("...so let's leave it alone...there's only you and me and we just disagee...."). Beautiful.

  • front row for this show he opened for deep purple awesome show

  • im sure theres lots of people who can relate to this song- its all so true.....in some caes;(

  • Phenomenal!!!

    Bravo!

  • Great artist - great song! Kids take note on how to write & play & sing. There is a reason why they call it CLASSIC rock. I can't help but compare to the low-talent over-produced-crap that is out today and pity the people that know no different!

  • Short simple and melodic... I still sing it in the shower.

  • Saw him last night at Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA. AWESOME. Honestly, didn't even realize he was the front man for Traffic. Last night's concert was incredible. What a talent.

  • Such a great, great song by Dave...just goes to show you that the real good music is between the 50's, 60's, 70's, and the '80's.

  • tspoon

I'm sorry sorry to hear about your loss, Just know she loved you and she always will.

You are not along brother , Many people have there thoughts for you. Be blessed and know that She is still watching you and you are not alone.

  • Great song-it always moves me!

  • unbelievable how good this song still sounds

  • this song will always remind me of URI and Rick who played it 50 times a day!!!, but i liked it!

  • 2nd concert in my life at Lehigh University along with Kenny Loggins. It was the only song I knew by Dave Mason. I always loved it! He still sounds great.

  • What a classic song..............today we have Justin Bever ! Wow, how times have changed!

  • As a young kid in the 80's...I always loved this song. However, I enjoy this powerful song more now then ever. Great version!

  • I like this version with the piano even better than the original with the organ. The rawness and power of the piano compliments the 12 string perfectly.

  • "We were friends, but now's the end of our love song" gotta be the saddest words written for song - in the top ten anyways.

  • Love it! This guy sounds better today than he did in the 70s-and he sounded great then.

  • This song has no personal meaning to me really, but man...what a powerful song.

  • I can't stop listening to this song.

  • To tspoonhunter: What a beautiful tribute, my man. My thoughts are with you, I hope the services went well and you are healing. Music is the best thing to help that along. My folks both died within three weeks of each other and the music I played at their services helped me cope. Take care.

  • I've always liked this song, and this makes me like it even more.

  • dedicated to my best friend joey.. he died of cancer.... i loved him and miss him

  • I played and sang this song to my ex-wife after being apart for about 6 months; she's now a Dave Mason fan.

  • Mr. Mason Dave, you have been an artist that has brought beauty and joy to my life through your music. Double Live ROCKED!!!!!! I just do not know what to say. Saw you once in Kansas City, MO. during the '80's. Let's talk. Email me. God Bless you and yours. Kooks do not bother.

  • 1:38 how bout you, have you got a place to stay why should I care, when Im just trying to get along...

  • sad but beautiful song 2 people drifting away from one another............

  • WOW he still has his voice! It hasn't changed on bit, what a talent...!

  • Great song. Thanks Dave.

  • Say Dave Mason once along with Elvin Bishop and Great Southern , but he

    stole the show !

  • Dave Mason is my uncle. no joke he drives a bus now. its sad but he's the best.

  • Ppl need to take this message to heard, A cry for love and understanding.in our modern World. More of this would be cool!

  • I love this song. My fondest memory is about 5 years ago . My three sons & I sang this song at a friends wedding dance. It was great .

  • I miss my ex wife, She doesnt know how much this song means to me. I cry

  • To all those who lost a love one, God bless you.........I lost my mother in January 2006 , I miss her so much, everyday is a struggle, This music does me real good. I love Dave Mason, I remember my mother telling me to turn the damn music down. LOL..I miss that woman. I still cry fo her.

  • AWESOME DAVE.........

  • tHIS SONG MAKES ME THINK ABOUT MY BROTHER WHO PASSED AWAY June 27 2008, Great times miss and Love ya Rusty!!!

  • These lyrics make me think of the last one.... I am nauseous about it and it's been over a year.

  • dave opened for deep purrple and both showes were filmed

  • Jim Krueger wrote this. It's a great song to perform. Most great songs are based on true stories. Simple, strong, emotional and true. That's what a great song is all about. That's Jim for this great song. Yours truly, Vince Ravon. Canadian Songwriter.

  • To a wonderful lady, that didn't "swimmingly" didn't work out.

  • I have tickets to see Dave Mason & Al Stewart at the end of May.

  • A great song ... words so true ... and sometimes all that can be said about a broken situation. Thank you, Mr. Mason, for the great music.

  • a classic, sounds as good today as it did 40 yrs ago

  • All I can say Is Thanks to Dave for such wonderful music. My wife passed one week ago after 30 years of marriage. His song "Every woman" will be played at her funeral and a line from Let it go, Let It Flow will be on the Program Hand out. " A Rose is gonna Fall and an Angel's gonna Call on you, to help You on Your Way. Time spent together, like now is forever, Don't ever Let this Love slip away". God Bless this music and the beautiful mind that created it.

  • You have my condolences.

  • I am sorry to hear of your loss.

  • @tspoonhunter Oh how lovely ....She was lucky to have you <3

  • @kristlkrost Thank you very much. I was Lucky to have her.

  • @tspoonhunter; my condolences to you and your family..

  • @tspoonhunter Sorry for your loss, I am a fan of this song in particular, growing up as a kid when I heard it!

  • @tspoonhunter I'm sorry for your loss, may the music that you both shared remind you of wonderful times and you will always be together. Take care my friend

. PS : look up a poem called "Desiderata" maybe you know it. Google it and check it out. Peace.

  • @robzombay72 thank you very much, I will look up the poem.

  • @tspoonhunter I'm so sorry for your loss. I just read your comment and I just had to reply. It was both sad and beautiful. I lost my husband after 11 years. He was only 41. It was unexpected and very sudden. He was my bestfriend and I adored him. I've been where you are now. Take good care, grieve in your own time and in your own way and DON"T let anyone tell you to "Get on with your life". If they do, they don't understand. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

  • @Msdistarr . Thank you very much. You are right, people eho haven't been there really don't understand. I have had friends say things like "I know how you feel, I lost my parents a few years ago". They mean well but the fact is that one can somewhat prepare themselves for the loss of their parents, after all you grow up and move away or at least out of the house. But when it is someone that you have been in an intamate relationship for 15, 20 or in my case 30 years it is Different. Thanks again

  • @tspoonhunter Its so true. When you loose someone other than a spouse, you have your life to step back into but when you loose a spouse, life as you knew it is gone. Your stepping into a black hole that USED to be your life. Depending on your age, you wonder if it's worth starting over again. It's the most painful, difficult thing I have ever been thru. I've walked in your shoes and I know how you feel.

  • @Msdistarr Yes, and in my case she was very ill for a long time. I had been her primary care giver for the better part of 13 of our nearly 30 years together. so she WAS my Life and my Job as well. Although I would have done it for free even if I hadn't gotten paid by in home services. So here I am 55 years old and am faced with having to look for work and learn to live life entirely different. It is indeed a black hole at times. Thank you so much for you comments. They mean more than you know.

  • @Msdistarr Thank you. You are right. People don't understand. Some compare it to losing a parent but when it is someone you have been in an intamate relationship with for 30 years it is different. I also Lost my son one year ealier to the same genetic disorder. I now care for her brother who has the same disease and is nearing the end stages. Maybe thats what God had in mind for my Life. I can only put my trust in him and "Endeavor to persevere" Thanks for your kind words and God Bless.

  • @tspoonhunter Your a good soul for taking care of your brother-in-law. You've definitely earned your wings. Strangers that we are, I still feel your pain. My heart goes out to you.

  • @tspoonhunter You both are beautiful souls and will be together again as you were when you met someday, somewhere. Bless both of you.

  • @sclarks10 Thank you and thanks to everyoner for there kind words. I am finding that the old saying "Time heals all wounds" isn't entirely correct. This kind of wound never heals. The brain builds scar tissue around it to protect its sanity but the pain even though it lessens still remains.

  • @tspoonhunter You both are beautiful souls and will be together again someday, somewhere.

  • @tspoonhunter IM SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.IT IS A PRETTY BUT SAD SONG; BEST OF WISHES TO YOU- :)

  • @spoonhunter How are you doing brother? So sorry for your loss, Heaven is a great place though!!!!!!! Get there, Jesus is the way.

    God bless

  • @tspoonhunter Your reply says a helluva lot about you as a person. Your chosen words for a proper "sendoff" were above and beyond!! I saw Dave Mason for the first time when I was 15 years old. That was 35 years ago. As I travel through this life, those words and messages that he delivered via perfect melodies back then are still the standard today. My condolences to you and yours...I lost my Dad in April. Thanks for shedding some light on a previously dark area.

  • @tspoonhunter I am so sorry to read of your loss. I realize it has been 11 months, however, that doesn't mean you don't still miss her. You are in my prayers.

  • @tspoonhunter say thanks to jim kruger, he is the bald guitar plyer on this stage. Jim wrote all you quote. God Bless Jim Kruger

  • is that the foo fighters drummer?

  • @59simonh YES.

  • Mr. Mason thank you so much for wonderful music...lol I wasn't born until 1978 but am glad you started before me!!!

  • are you not entertained

    i am

it is a story about your life maybe you shoul take the 4.01 memory and remember her ,him youve been there,

  • saintgnarly;

You sound like one of those guys that think they can act like an asshole because they're big. All that makes them is a big asshole, man.

Plus, you missed the irony in your own statement trying to put mo9504 down for being in front of the computer on a saturday night. What the fuck were YOU doing in front of yours? LOL

Think of something real witty to say, (other than "oh, yeah?"), and you can tell everyone you got the last word in.

  • Mr David Mason, I am a Transit worker, I covered you on a photo shoot in b'klyn during the early 90's. Thanks for being a nice guy...I had a great time shooting you and your band. If you would like the shots...all gratis to you and to no one else.. I think the venue was 2000 something or other where travolta danced. . feel free to contact me

  • Great . . . .is this concert available on CD . . if anyone knows pls let me know. if been a fan eversince his days when he was with traffic and specielly when he left for going solo . . . .great singer - songwriter . . . :)
