  • the BUYBULL is a fairytale.

  • Uh, the original was 'though shalt not murder' and applied only to jews killing other jews....

  • Aww, don't be so hard on the Schlafly. It's obvious that the liberals made him do it.

And yes, many facepalms are in order here. Once I stop laughing so hard.

  • Aww, don't be so hard on the Schlafly. It's obvious that the liberals made him do it.

And yes, many facepalms are in order here. Once I stop laughing so hard.

  • from an evolution point of view, we need diversity, so we gotta keep idiots like this around in case earth got hit by a brain wave scrambler and only ultra conservative nut-jobs can survive.

  • @aierce

Fuck that. I'd rather cockroach men rise to sentience and take over the world.

  • hey now wait a sec... if andy replaces the word 'kill' with 'murder' it can rightly be said god murdered people in the flood

and he'd be saying god promised to make people miserly...

    i'd

    /facepalm

for you but i'm laughing too hard

  • Conservapedia is the TRUTH. Now only Liberals and Atheists go on Wikipedea for their bias trash. I am proud to be a CHRISTIAN and love my country AMERICA and when I want the truth about things like Evolution there is only one place that will give you both sides of the issue. In Nazi Germany they would only give one side and force you to agree and pay your tax dolllars to teach their Evolutionist propaganda, but the Bible DISPROVES evolution. Wikipedea should be called Nazi-pedea!!

  • @DarthHater100 Hey shockofgod, you know what would make this more compelling?

    A. Not hiding behind a sockpuppet account like darthHater100,and,

    B. ALL CAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could you have beelined a little faster towards Godwin's Law? Reading all those big words made my head hurt.

  • @moopism I am no sock puppet. Us Christians are growing in number here on Youtube. I am sorry that you hate the TRUTH, but here in the USA atheists and liberals are in the MINORITY. If you don't like it move to Germany or France. I am also sorry that evolutionists don't like to be compared to the Nazis but if the the mustache fits. . .

  • @DarthHater100 And he goes straight for Godwin's Law!!!!!!

The only place you are growing is your waistline. You can stop the bullshit now- I'm not buying it.

  • @moopism and like a typical atheist, he goes straight to swearing. Cant you write a response without vulgarities? And guess what, there is no such law a Godwin`s Law. It is just something some dude said. It`s a red herring to detract from the LEGITIMATE comparisons to Hitler and the Nazis. I am sorry that your ideology is basically the same as Hitler`s. You don`t like it, stop lying to your and leave atheism before it rots your brain. Atheism is MADNESS.

  • @DarthHater100 So when you go on one of your spittle flecks rants, how do you avoid water damage to your keyboard?

as far as madness goes..... I'm not the one with an imaginary friend.

  • @moopism yes I guess you dont have an imaginary friend. Hitler was real. . .

  • @DarthHater100 Wow, so all you've got now is slander?

And you have the unmitigated gall to question MY language? You're a real piece of work.

  • @moopism Slander? You don`t think calling your creator an ``imaginary friend`` is slander? You don`t have any evidence atheism is true, it`s just your opinion. I was an atheist until I went looking for evidence and found none. Christianity however has a TON of evidence. And not the fraudulent kind of evidence like you get with evolution. Evolutionists find a tooth of a pig and construct elaborate drawings and theories. That is because unlike Christianity, there IS no evidence, jus

  • @DarthHater100 "You don`t think calling your creator an ``imaginary friend`` is slander?"

Prove there is one and I'll gladly retract. However, calling me a friend or sympathizer with Hitler IS slander.

"That is because unlike Christianity, there IS no evidence"

    Again, prove your contention.

  • @moopism Proof? Ever hear of the Bible? Where is atheism`s bible? Oh that`s right, you don`t have one. Sorry, but when you have a book written by the creator of the universe, then we`ll be on equal footing.

Oh, and you want me to prove there is no evidence for atheism, here is the perfect proof: You provide evidence that atheism is accurate and correct. If your response is anything other than a numbered list, you lose. Please tell me your evidence, this should be hilarious LOL.

  • @DarthHater100 You don't have a book written by the creator either. Even IF i was willing to give you the a priori that there is a god, biblical criticism doesn't state the scriptures were written BY god, but by men INSIPIRED by god. Not really the same thing, is it?

So now you not only make unfounded assertions concerning the existence of a deity, but you compound your cluelessness by misunderstanding what Christian scholars do claim about the bible. Cute.

  • @DarthHater100 when are you going to show me evidence that you are not shockofgod?still waiting this should be hilarious

  • @DarthHater100 darhthater100 is aka shockofgod this is the name he trolls under.

  • @alltiedup217 Nobody asked for you two cents dummy. Leave me ALONE.

  • @DarthHater100 its you tube shock people can say what they want..you don't get to censor comments on other peoples vids they way you do on yours. This iswhat will happen when you troll.

  • @DarthHater100 "Cant you write a response without vulgarities? "

I can, I just don't respect you enough to bother. Happy?

  • @DarthHater100 Retard.

  • Well, I don't know who Andy is, I fell into this video by accident. He is right on the Kill->Murder one though. I am no scholar of ancient languages, but can access the works from Strong's concordance.

The word translated Kill in the original text is: [ratsach raw-tsakh' a primitive root; properly, to dash in pieces, i.e. kill (a human being), especially to murder:--put to death, kill, (man-)slay(-er), murder(-er). ]

  • Strongs concordance gives it the number 07523 and other places in the old King James the word is translated in the flowing ways: manslayer, slayer, murderer, slain, killing

  • Andy's legal skills in a nutshell:

"I'm gonna sic my professional lawyer mommy (who's made a career out of of telling women to stay in the kitchen) on you."

  • And the Lord's greatest commandment was, "Thy right to bear arms shalt not be infringed"

  • Satanbrake, Andy asshole!

  • Unbelievable. This Schlafly guy is so dumb. Just plain stupid. I ask myself wether he was born such an idiot or if he learnt it somewhere. And if so, who were his teachers?

  • As a dystheist I don't often find myself on the side of the Bible... but this is an exception and a half...

  • Conservapedia is like a modern, discredited and powerless version of the Spanish inquisition, although they probably don't want to inflict violence. The nonsense on there is so obvious, so so so obvious. How could ANYONE fall for it? Some of them must realize how absurd at least parts of it are, surely???

  • some people are just psychotic. People with big egos like Andy scare me for the effect their arrogance might have on history.

  • Inbred fucktards like Andrew Schlafly are the reason we don't have a cure for cancer as well as several other scientific advancements that people of the past thought we'd have by now. Religion impedes scientific process... it should be destroyed.

  • Never before has any man read the bible and told his friends, don't read that crap its liberal spin-doctorin'!

  • I have seen that Andy Schlafly attended a private catholic boys' school in his youth.

When I think that I'm originally a catholic.

I have progressively taken my distances with my religion.

When I was a boy my father was forcing me to go the mass every sunday.

Since I have been an adult, I don't go to the mass any more.

I really have difficulty to position myself toward my religion.

I have been disgusted by the behavior of some fundamentalist catholics.

I think I have become an agnostic.

  • God will take no offense because God is at Andy's orders.

  • I found jesus in a burrito on Sept 18th, 1985 in Omaha Nebraska. It was cold as dog shit that day! I ate that motherfucka and doomed the world to eternal godlessness. Big fuckin deal. Get over it!

  • This actually makes sense when you think about it. Religious fundamentalists are encouraged to be ignorant- that's kind of what evangelicalism is all about. You see, the more ridiculous the shit they believe, the more "faith" they have. It's a genius catch-22 concocted for morons, and it works. Conservapedia is proof.

  • Seriously what the fuck is wrong with this guy. How can someone be this willfully ignorant. I almost refuse to believe it.

  • This Conservative project disgusts me completely. But this is no proof that liberals are saints either. We got Bad Guys everywhere. Capitol Punishment?=Conservative solution to eliminate the criminal from causing more harm to society. Abortion?=Liberal solution to.................what again? but whtever Im just one person who dosent support killing in general, except if it at all stands for self defence. which capitol punishment comes closer(but can definatly be corrupted).

  • At least liberals don't totally re-write a holy book to suit their biases.

  • @BoredomCorner that's hardly fair. As a liberal, I do think that the liberals have taken a much looser interpretation of The Bible than the conservatives. That's not to say that what conservapedia is doing isn't ridiculous, but just saying the left has twisted The Bible to meet its needs as much, if not more, than the right.

  • At least the left doesn't try to depict Jesus as Hitler.

  • @BoredomCorner You're arguing that the religious right attempts to make Jesus look like Hitler?

  • no he was talking about Nazi Germany. scroll down, you'll see it.

  • lol ok there obviously is no such thing as an intelligent conservative...

  • This project is brilliant, increadible, its like, right out of the halls of minitru

  • Goatspeed!

  • IT's what the far right did in Germany in the 30s, in Hitler's United German church.

It was pretty similar, blue eyed blonde Jesus.

But also all of the other stuff too.

Interestingly, many of the German annotated bibles at the time made if into the USA via the conservatives and American fascist league.

They are also considered the root American Evangelism.

Luther was a vicious anti-Semite, that will be the next as the conservatives add Jewish banking conspiracy just like last time.

  • And Liberals make Obama lok like Jesus. No different. Ones Nationalistic the other, Hail Der Fuhren. There has to be a Median, Far Right, Far Left. but are shit. 'Medius' is where I stand

  • nope, they are just bloody glad it isn't the republicans and are giving President Obama support and encouragement.

The vast majority are fed up with the us and them politics of the right.

Just look at you ranting about liberals, and it is backed up by slurs and inequality.

People want a sane mixed economy, competition to keep it efficient and cooperation to keep it stable and regulated.

The politics you represent failed big.

bubbles kill your own markets and bring everybody down, including you.

  • Umm no you dont use Jesus' image to describe some1, its blasphemes for christians and should be offensive to christians if it wasent made by one who is. How does a Middle stance bring everyone down? its called objectiveness. I dont know why they think its ok to encourage some1 by making them look like Jesus. Im ranting about both sides bro.

  • whatever

  • I would have thought that comparison to the ultimate noble and charitable man, would be the highest compliment (at least if done properly).

Isn't the whole point of Christianity to emulate Jesus anyway?

  • Umm he didn't say anything about Jesus.

  • ItalianMan, I've NEVER seen anyone say Obama was Jesus -- except for sarcastic pricks on the right.

Besides, it misses the point -- The Bible ALWAYS had some liberal attitudes, yet these fundies can't accept that.

  • Actually I don't know anyone who makes Obama look like Jesus.

  • The Schla-fly or Con bug has a propensity for landing in a nice liberal environment and setting about destroying it untill it is unrecognizable. Once all has been altered the Schla-Fly will find that it has created an unlivable environment And will move on to look for a new nice place to destroy. The con bug needs a liberal dose of truth sprayed on it at all times or it will spread out of controll. I prefer DE-con!

  • Ecce Homo

  • These conservatives have pretty much admitted that their interpretation of the bible does not really mesh with what it actually says, so they have to rewrite it to fit their agenda. They've basically just admited thatthe bible is not the "literal" word of god.

  • Ohhh, your going to hell. I'll pray for you but I doubt it will do any good.

  • Andy Schlafly, it seems, proves by example and intellectual fortitude (or lack thereof) that evolution must be a hoax, surely it couldn't have created him. Then again, if God did, doesn't say much about his work either.

  • He's made of dirt, don't expect to much intelligence.

  • i wonder if the good ppl at conservapedia read the part of the bible stating it is against God's law to take from edit put in to or change in any fashion th word. oh well have fun in hell conservatives

  • That's very easily explained with a little thing called double standards. See, while the rest of us have to follow the bible to the letter (lest we be branded liberals by Andy and his minions), it's okay for them to disobey god - you see, they think they're doing god's work.

It's sort of funny - even if there were a god, Andy would go straight to hell for what he's doing right now. Not to forget all the other sins they've committed over at Conservapedia. Whooo boy, are they wicked!

  • @bulldri9

They not only read it, they changed it so it reads that it's okay to change the words so long as you preserve the meaning.

  • This guy seriously believes that Dinosaurs existed 6000 years ago, Noah took them on the ark with him and are only "generally believed to be extinct" along with citations of Dinosaur sightings today?!

  • Of course dinosaurs were around 6,000 years ago. Don't you know anything?

I bet that means that you probably didn't know that cavemen used to ride on them like horses too. It was glorious.

  • :O!

Well if they're still around maybe I'll just find one and start riding it around to work and stuff.

No insurance, no fuel cost... I'll just feed it whoever pisses me off along the way.

  • Go for the ones that eat trees. They're more common and easier to train.

  • Honestly, what is wrong with this guy?

  • Oh and another great video. 5*

  • All right now this REALLY pisses me the fuck off!! Not only has he been proven a liar on several occasions, now he's trying to change the words and actions of someone we Christians ultimately want to emulate.

WTF is wrong with Andy?! Christianity is supposed to be about forgiveness, compassion, and humanism! Damn it, I wish I was a hacker so I can unblock myself from his shitty site and epically own that fucktard.

  • I fully agree. I am a Christian too and conservatives like Andy and his like are destroying the reputation and credability of Christianity in general.

If they start changing the bible then thats it. There gone. They are nolonger Christian and have officially become a cult.

  • I'm Wiccan and even I'm pissed off about this. not because I think the Christian God would be offended (he might be, but I don't know the guy so I won't say one way or the other.) I' ticked because I hate it when people change the rules.

  • 4:50 WTF? How the fuck is Conservapedia Communism? Communism has to have Socialized Medicine. Conservapedia somehow turns socialized medicine into an evil thing. This is retarded. The videos you have are good, I thought you were intelligent, and then you come out with something that stupid.

  • Thanks for the comment. Perhaps I should have been a tad more clear, you're quite right that it sounds incorrect with the way I worded it.

Let's examine a communist state - the USSR. Every person working toward the same end with no individual gain, a fascist regime in command, and all undesirables are "removed" and all traces of them erased.

This matches, in my opinion, the Conservapedia policies of unquestionable rule, with bans and deletion the primary methods of controlling any opposition.

  • So, to that extent, I wasn't refering to communism as a political ideology, put more of how we have witnessed communist states acting in the past. I should have put more info into the video to make this more clear, as the ideology behind communism is, as you say, not like Conservapedia.

  • Comment removed

  • To be fair, I have read from many theologians that the original Hebrew word in the commandment "thou shall not kill" is more accurately translated as "murder". So Bible versions do use the latter word.

  • I can't say I was aware of this. I did scripture classes when I was younger, and I noticed that every version of the bible uses different wording, but I'd never come across "murder" instead of "kill".

I don't doubt what you're telling me is true, and it's certainly something I'll be doing a bit of looking in to. I don't believe that any God would see a difference between murder and capital punishment at any rate, it's still killing someone, no matter what it''s called.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Well I will agree with you on most of the actions taken by Il Duce of Conservapedia, Andy. However I do think that yes, looking at the Hebrew, murder is the best English equivalent, which makes sense since the Bible doesn't appear to oppose warfare, those in the military, or even capital punishment (considering how many offenses have that penalty in the Bible).

  • Quite right, the Old Testament is full of actions that can apparently warrant the death penalty, that's for sure. Such as having to kill a disobedient son, I'm sure that would go down well; it's probably just as well people pick-and-mix which parts of the Bible they pay attention to. John Paul II was against capital punishment, as he felt there was no justification for it in modern times.

I just can't see how someone can be pro-life on one issue and pro-death on another.

    Interesting stuff.

  • I know Pope John Paul II held that position, does the current pope too? Wouldn't surprise me if he did, even though he is more conservative. Of course that just covers Catholics. Is Andy a Catholic? If so I would be curious how he reconciles that, or the Catholic church's stand on evolution.

  • Benedict is a fence-sitter, he has made the claim that diversity of opinion (on this topic) is legitimate. The latest official position given was that of John Paul II in "Evangelium Vitae" - capital punishment should only be used to protect society, which is rarely (if ever) needed with the modern penal system. I guess Benedict doesn't want to piss anyone off by taking either side.

According to an announcement printed in the NYT, Andy had a Roman Catholic wedding, so I daresay he is a Catholic.

  • Most bibles translate Exodus 20:13 as "Thou shalt not kill" (including the King James Version, which is by far the most popular English translation throughout the world), but some versions translate it slightly differently. For example, the New American Standard Bible (very popular in some parts of America) says "You shall not murder," while Young's Literal Translation (another fairly popular one) says "Thou dost not murder." But yeah, most simply say "kill" and leave it at that.

  • Indeed, it appears that I was incorrect on this particular issue, and I'm not above conceding the point when turns out I was wrong.

It is certainly interesting that the Bible can be interpreted so many ways. It seems dangerous in a way, basing one's life on a book when there are so many disagreements on its passages.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • Andy is doing what people have done for ages. Adopting the bible as needed to control/lead the people. But he certainly has delusions of grandeur, to think himself as that influential to think he has that much of a following.

  • Specifically Kings and other Rulers have altered the bible in an attempt to control the populace. Makes one wonder what Schlafly is trying to accomplish.

  • @Retact Wait...what? I've heard this theory a lot of times. The problem is I can't accept it. See, I read Greek...I read Hebrew. What we have today (if we look at the original language and compare it to the scroll fragments and complete scrolls we have in museums and institutes throughout the world) is the same. We can date some of what we have to be not more than 50 years after authorship, most is not more than 140-150 years. That's better than Homer by 400 years!

  • The Bibles we have today is most certainly NOT the same as the original, they aren't even the same as each other.

I've the notion of kings and rulers changing the bible stated as fact, more than I've been able to verify. The only specific instance I can find is that the passage Exodus 22:18 in which the English word "Witch" was put in place of a Greek or Hebrew word (sources differ) better translated as placer of curses. Supposedly, kings and rulers omitted sections that they disagreed with.

  • @Retact Ya, some of our translations leave something to be desired, but we do have good English translations too (ESV, for example). Now if "kings and rulers" have changed things, I don't see how. Did they go back and erase/rewrite? Uh, huh. Saying that kings and rulers changed things is a cop out, and a bad one. Not all us 'religious folk' are stupid and just blindly accept what we're told. Some of us actually look for ourselves and crazy enough, we believe all the more that Christ is Lord

  • I know that not I religious people just blind accept what given them, my mom is Christian and she accepts that the old testament is not completely accurate, but she still believes. My Uncle, on the other hand, believes that the King James Version of the Bible is the true and complete account of the bible and that every word of the bible is absolute truth and gods word made print. BTW: I'm not an atheist, I'm Wiccan.

  • @Retact Well the thing is this: I can read the Greek and the Greek we have today (obviously) is the same as the Greek back during the time of the Apostles. Now there are a LOT of nuances that are lost in a xlation, unfortunately, but our screwed up English language is helpless when it comes to that. The KJV is a horrible xlation - it comes from 2 sources which are both bad sources (Latin vulgate and textus receptus). If we had access to an OT (which we do) from before Christ (which there is)

  • @Retact then we could confirm it's accuracy (which we can). I mean for someone to say "the bible is not accurate" assumes that that person has access to historical documents and/or recordings to prove that statement. Now if you've actually done the comparison between what we have today and the original or close to original documents...you'd find that there are few inaccuracies. Besides, say there was an error in xlation, should that mean that we throw God and Christ's saving work out the...

  • @Retact ...window? I mean, in that case we should never trust what we're taught in schools, we should never trust what we read in the paper, or magazines, we should never trust anything or anyone. That's just silly! The fact that the NT has made it for 2000+years and the OT for 3 to 4k years with the few 'mistakes' it has should tell you something about how sacred the texts have been for the Church AND for the Jews! It should tell you something about this book...it may be worth trusting.

  • Aside from warping what I stated beyond recognition and insulting my mother's religious beliefs, do you have anything worth offering to a discussion on whether or not the bibles been altered? If not, BACK OFF! If you do, than state it.

  • @Retact There is more evidence to suggest that dung beetles are baby pieces of dung with brains than there is that the Bible has been altered. I can go through all the various scroll fragments with you and compare them all to what we have today but that would take a long time. You can do that footwork yourself. The only 'changes' you'll find in todays TRUE translations (ESV, RSV, NRSV) are the attempts made at taking greek nuances and making them work in English (which is almost impossible)

  • I have ALREADY stated that I was unable to find any specific instances of the bible being intentionally altered, but when you hear the same thing stated repeatedly from multiple different sources it merits investigation. I am "doing the footwork," I'm trying to find where this story came from. So, you have nothing new to offer and you didn't apologize for insulting my mother's religious beliefs, you merit getting fucked in the ear. back the fuck off.

  • @Retact...not to sound stupid, but specifically what story? Because I want to make sure before I reply that I'm replying with the correct data. And as far as ur mother, it was not my intention to insult her, so if I did I'm sorry.

  • The story that kings and rulers in the past have altered the bible through changes in verse and complete omission of specific stories that the kings and rulers in question disagreed with.

  • @Retact Ok so as I've said before. We have Thousands upon thousands of ancient Greek fragments and scrolls, some dating to within 50 years of original authorship. We can compare those to the Greek scriptures we have today. They are the same.

  • And as I said before. I doubt very much that the versions of the bible we have now are the same as the original bible (dead sea scrolls or that Greek one they're putting back together online) because the versions of the bible we have today aren't even the same as each other. I've also already said I'm looking into it. I'll let you know If I find something definitive one way or the other. Perhaps you can do the same.

  • @Retact I do the same as part of my seminary education. The versions we have now are in fact different from one another yes. Some are transliterations, some are translations, some are translations of translations. Some of paraphrases. I'm not talking about any of that, I'm talking about the Greek. There are about 1/2 dozen or so historically and theologically accepted Greek New Testaments on the market today. The differences....minor and NOT doctrinal in any way!

  • @Retact With regard to the Old Testament, there is really only 1 or 2 Greek texts that are universally considered reliable. The Hebrew Old Testament HAS been cleared of any accusations of changes with the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and other documents that we continue to dig up (literally). As the days go on, more and more is being found to substantiate the historical value of both Old and New Testament. It's amazing to look into.

  • there is this one Greek bible that is the oldest complete bible in existence and was separated so different museums could study it. Now, thanks to the Internet, it is being put back together - Digitally. You should look it up. So far they made one important discovery, There WAS something between the cover and the book of Genesis. They don't know what, yet.

  • @Retact Interesting. I have to wonder though just how old it is. If it is in codex form, it can't be too close to the original. Well, they were playing around with codex in the 2nd century, but...And, what is it a copy OF? It could be a 'textus receptus' which wouldn't surprise me. As far as what was between the cover and Genesis...the only trouble is that other parts of Scripture, inc. the New Testament are pretty clear in calling Genesis the first book of Torah - of the Jewish canon

  • (About Genesis being the first book in the Torah) I know, that's makes this so weird. Maybe it's not a 'book', that would keep Genesis as the first 'book'. I wonder if that is an example parts being removed by some king or ruler. It might be, but until something says otherwise, I'll assume not. I need DEFINITIVE proof. Still, interesting stuff.

  • There is a 95% chance this video is awesome.

    I will give it a 2+2(+1) rating.
