  • The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) is a nonprofit mental health watchdog, responsible for helping to enact more than 150 laws protecting individuals from abusive or coercive practices. CCHR has long fought to restore basic inalienable human rights to the field of mental health, including, but not limited to, full informed consent regarding the medical legitimacy of psychiatric diagnosis, the risks of psychiatric treatments, and the right to refuse any treatment considered harmful.

  • Good job man, ive felt like ive had this strongly recently or somthing along the lines but now I dont know, i think that yes, it is quite a negative thing to diagnose oneself so I don't know really but yeah I'm understanding more about all mental health. Keep going dude.! =) and how did you go to hospital? Did someone take you?

  • A friend of mine who i've known since my school days has bipolar. I thought it was my fault, but no. He gets voices in his head that tell him to kill himself and other things. He also cuts his arms. Good luck buddy, never give up :)

  • -All the best!

  • i really like ur videos, im young, im 16. but your experiences relate to mine alot, but mine arent as severe, but they are breaking me down so fast and so hard

  • Thank you so much for these videos. Theyre making me understand more about the disorder.

  • Life is beautiful my friend!! Keep going on bro, there are great things in life. Im from Venezuela, my greetings!!

  • Thanks, it's great to receive greetings from so far away. Take care

  • Not trying to say by any means your condition

could have been avoided-of course not. I do think "Stress," is a major trigger. We live in

artificial times (un-natural stressors), there will be even more problems from troops in the USA coming back from war.All the best-people will drive one insane and they will also be the ones who help save you.

  • I can relate to that; when I have been in hospital there have been people whose behaviour I have found challenging and others who I have looked up to. I think I have learnt from these experiences and sometimes it has been the people I have struggled to get on with who I have learnt from the most. Thanks for a very thoughtful comment.

  • I feel like that sometimes.

  • I hope that know where to get help if you need it.

  • Lizzie sorry I deleted your comment by mistake. I am quite pleased about these videos I admit. I have been honest about a difficult subject and I'm pleased I did so.

  • my first hospital admission = traumatizing

    i have nightmares, seriously.

    keep fighting the good fight

  • I'm sorry to hear you have nightmares. I am lucky in that respect; however bad things have been for me at various times I have always been able to escape once I fell asleep. Take care

  • I admire you continuing bravery for making these video's.

  • Demonwolf, sorry but I never got an e-mail to tell me that you'd commented on my video. Thank you for your support, to tell you the truth making mental illness videos is easy, I haven't had a single negative comment. When I stray onto other subjects the feedback is more mixed!

  • Yeah thanks anyway now I'm drinking wine and having fun with you Americans. You know your problem, left and right are too certain you have all the answers. I just heard 9 million kids in the USA have no medical insurance. That's shameful for the world's only superpower but tell people and they just call you a leftie.

  • Too true...anyway, just wanted to post and say that I found your videos and watched a couple and wanted to say thank you. It's nice to see an actual human being with this issue instead of someone trying to teach it over again. Good luck to you! Wish you all the best! :)

  • Thank you very much, I don't feel I have a duty to talk about it but if I'm ok doing so then I know it's a good thing to do.

  • I notice you've got a video from the Ian Curtis film Control. i can't wait to see it. I love Joy Division, I used to work in Macclesfield and I knew someone who worked with Ian at the Job centre and someone else who went to school with Stephen.

  • Wow! Small world! lol. I can't wait to see Control either. Huge Joy Division fan.

  • I saw Control recently and loved it, it made me cry at times. I do think it's right that people get some understanding of what it must have been like for Deborah.

  • Wow, yeah. I've been dying to see it. Nice to hear you enjoyed it! That's a good sign! :)

  • I went to an afternoon screening in Liverpool, it would have been good to go to the evening screening because Deborah Curtis was there to answer questions.

  • Thanks yankhadenuf, touchwood I'm ok on Lithium but thanks again, it's kind of you.

  • i know what you are going about, you cant do things to make you better like hobbies cause you have no motivation or desire to do it, i think external influence needs put on you, something positive to occur, people or something to give you the strength to put yourself on your feet its too hard to do it alone.

  • Yes a few years later I made a new group of friends who accepted me as I was and that helped. I wish I'd met them earlier. Thank you for the comment.

  • hey hang in, it gets beter. ive had many days and nights like that.you must be in england? in michigan we would have your ex boss ass in a vice cutting his nuts of lol jk. but im type 1 for 30 years back when they gave u darvon for it ,ill just say it made me worse.but now they under stand it better be cool bipoler mike

  • Mike, thanks for your positive comment. Yes it does get better, I can see that myself now. This video deals with events 10 years ago. Maybe back then I wanted my ex-boss to suffer but now I bear him no ill-will.

  • Thanks MrLuvus, today the weather is beautiful and I'm not working so I'll enjoy myself this afternoon.

  • keep up the living spirit, mate.

  • Yes I've since been on wards that were nowheere near as good. I share your views about nature, thank you for the positive comment.

  • You were really lucky to find a good psych hospital. Glad that you have been enjoying the weather. What keeps me going is seeing the beauty in nature. Looking forawrd to future instalments.
