I've witnessed the boyfriend thing happen to a few people where they decide to study in their own country to be with their boyfriends and then later breakup which I think is kinda like a waste. Its not a bad thing for some who may really may prefer it but I think it is better to explore yourself rather than being tied down early in your life. Which is why for me I try not to get too attached to guys as much... lol sorry for the rant xD anyways good luck to you and to everyone too ^.^
Japanese take more time to establish relationship than others. Especially when talking to foreigners, they become very cautious not to hurt them. So, don't worry about it so much.
you sound very paranoid in your video. i can imagine the culture clash you must be going through but you have to also consider when you move back, what will you do then? lets face it leaving the country is probably the best thing a college grad can do at this point.
(Deleted being) I lived a month on a train and I had about 5-6 conversations with people while on the train. It did give me time to reflect on things. Just don't over analyze things. Once you do that you will tend to make the negative your main decision.
People are different in all cultures. Japanese are known for being respectful and reserved people. Hispanics are very loud and upfront for the most part. You come from Miami, a city that is loud, rude and upfront and you create friendships by being the same way. this also leads to culture shock when you go some place else that is like Japan.
I can relate to your experience. I lived in Spain and traveled everywhere in Europe.
I would have to say at this point, I've concluded that Cuban is the opposite of Japanese, save for the fact we are both kind of short with dark hair. It takes some adjusting to and surprisingly my Japanese friends have started adjusting to me. I am less loud and crazy and they are more open to telling me things they would never tell a Japanese person. Thanks for the comment. I'm actually feeling better than the day I made this video.
You are in danger of having a lot of Japanese people saying stuff to you. They aren't all doing this because they are confiding in you. They may be doing it because you are gaijin and they know you can't tell anyone else. It's their way of blowing off steam and not embarrasing themselves. Japanese society is NOT based on a Judeo/Christian/Moslem underlying morality. You BETTER LEARN SOME JAPANESE or you will just be a "baka gaijin" or "henna gaijin". Good luck!
hey I am going to be an english teacher in the miyagi prefecture this spring. thanks for the videos...it gets me prepared for what i'm getting myself into.
also since you been there you don't seem to smile as much as you did on your others videos. and you have such sad eyes...you need plenty of nice big hugs and kind word and kisses from the people whom love you most.... sorry to sound so soft but when you think a lot it makes you empathic

Sounds like you are growing up. You are leaving the childish girl behind and turning into a woman. Best of luck!

Yeah, I'm actually thinking the same thing. As for my paranoia, I'm afraid that occasionally gets ingrained in my personality

Do it. Even though I'm whining in this vid, I'm actually learning so much just by leaving home. It opens up your whole way of thinking
