2d is just better for some games like Metroid Castlevania,Mario and Contra, Its what made these games stand out, not because they were a FPS-esque Wolfenstein 3d clone like everything else

Metroid has one of the highest rated franchises in all of video games. I really shouldnt say more than that but it looks like this title will combine elements from super metroid (viewed as one of the best 2D games ever) and the Metroid prime series (one of the best trilogies ever) and even some 3rd person view gameplay which is new for Metroid. in fact I dont know of a game that uses all three views of 1st person, 2nd person and 3rd person all in the same game. so yes this should be an easy buy.

I should also mention that if you dont have a metroid wii game then the Metroid Prime trilogy edition coming out august 24 would be a perfect buy, all 3 prime games with wii controls (thats what made MP3 so great)
