The only flaw in Joy's logic is that the child isn't asked if it was the right decision. That's the main driving factor in the mind set like hers - It's not about the other people that are affected by her decisions, it's only how she feels. Also, Tebow's mother was told to get an abortion because her life was at stake and she refused.
I don't get why its a choice. Honestly, there are contraceptives to prevent pregnancy, if a girl can't keep her legs closed and gets pregnant than she should just have the baby. The dilemma is false when you argue it the way you have. I do value life equally. At least in human terms. The life of a human will always be of more worth to me than the life of a cow, for instance. A Muslim Iraqi citizen and a newborn human fetus have a very serious and urgent right to their lives. Where, exactly, does the pro-life view collide with the view that the existence of a man or woman born in Iraq and raised a Muslim needed to be thwarted and ended? PRO-LIFE. Get it?

@Lambeaux people are sad when someone dies because they will miss that person, they are sad for that person's family who will miss that person. so life is nothing more than the sum of a person's experiences. a fetus has not had any experiences. therefore, in the event that having a baby will impose economic/social hardships on the mother/family, it is justifiable to take its life (granted, again, that you even first accept that it is 'living')

I don't get why its a choice. Honestly, there are contraceptives to prevent pregnancy, if a girl can't keep her legs closed and gets pregnant than she should just have the baby. @Lambeaux i would say that we only value life insofar as someone's preferences are presumably being (unjustifiably) denied (i.e. that person's preference to live). therefore, it's morally wrong to randomly kill a human being without any reason as a general principle. fetuses, however, do not have preferences. so even if they are biologically alive (which itself is a scientifically debated statement), they do not possess sufficient characteristics to give them moral salience.

@drankin2112 we will have to agree to disagree! You CAN NOT "guess" at "who" was aborted...rapist or president. BUT I'll ALWAYS take the good with the bad and vice-versa. so to deny the world a Tebow just so we don't have a "potential" Rapist is dumb to me. @TEBKOE and THUS Joy's comments ARE TRULY Uneducated!! As for the ad...it IS a MORAL AD as far as Tebow is concerned. Whether or not the ad might be used political has no bearing on him, as a football player, partaking in it. I wouldn't consider myself "political" but if either side had an "ad" for something I truly believed in, as part of my moral being, I WOULD participate...and it would represent ME not my politics. So, I applaud Tebow and don't find it to be a problem whatsoever.
