Nope, he spin it, you may look closer, there is only one time box at all those three, it's not necessary to spin all boxes in time trial but only the time boxes are useful to freeze time.
you should have taken the timeboxes on the other side of the spike wall at the end, the big thing that blocks your way wouldn't block your way then. And your time would be 14:02 (if I see it right in the vid). I know you already know this (I first came up with this, and it is pretty obvious anyway), I just write it for the others, just in case. ;)
