  • fucking bitch

  • @ismcb4sc Amy is not a bitch she, is a foolish girl.

  • To me, the scariest things about this is the music, and the girl yelling "JIMMYYYYYYYY!!!"

  • @wileyk209zback Amy the girl in this advert, is very foolish, but Jimmy is much sillier to go into the substation and get fried silly lad.

  • @rojblake82 I also want to see the version of the British railway safety film "Robbie" where he gets electrocuted trying to retrieve his soccer shoes tossed onto an overhead electric railway line. The only one online right now is the one where he trips and falls on the track as a train approaches.

  • So what if AMys frisby is melting a frisby can be replaced a life cannot, Amy gave Jimmy foolish advice but Jimmy went along with it and got himself killed by letahal electricity silly lad.If Amy was my sister, and we lost our frisby in a substation and Amy said go on get it I would say Amy for goodness sake woman the frisby is in an electrical substation full of dangerous live electrical apparatus if we go in there we? will get a fatal electric shock. Amy we will buy another frisby.

  • Amy was a very foolish girl, and Jimmy was an even sillier boy Amy says go on get it and Jimmy goes into the electrical substation and is fatally electrocuted silly lad.

  • Amy s a foolish girl, but Jimmy is an even sillier boy by going into an elcetrical substations and getting a fatal electric shock silly boy.

  • JIMMMMYYYY!!! I swear I made that exact same noise when Stephen Hendry beat Jimmy White at the last UK championship.

  • Oh my god, they killed Jimmy! You bastard!

  • @Minervasux Amy was a very foolish girl, and Jimmy an even sillier lad because he went into the electrical substation to retrieve Amy's frisbee and he got a lethal electric shock.

  • @Minervasux Amy was sure screaming Jimmy when he was fatally, electrocuted.

  • She lied to him. There wasnt a gap in the fence. Not until he forced one with a plank of wood.

  • @webbhead92 The girl Amy in this ad gave foolish advice to her brother Jimmy but he should have done what I would have done if Amy was my sister and we lost a frisbee in an electrical substation. If Amy said to me go on get it, I would say Amy don't be so silly woman it is a substation full of dangerous live electricial apparatus and going into substations is wrong anyway we could get a fatal electric shock and be burnt to toast Amy. i would say to Amy we buy ourselves, another frisbee Amy.

  • @rojblake82 You are very wise and make a good advice. It is always good to choose safety over a dangerous thing. You never know, a dangerous decision could make you die sooner than you would die if you had made a safer decision! You can have fun with safety too and you do not die as early.

  • @grits207 I would have said Amy would have been traumatised over her brother Jimmys death, and she would never have fullyy got over it. Amy gave foolish advice to Jimmy but he was daft enough to go into, the electrical substation and get a lethal electric shock silly boy.

  • @rojblake82 Electric shock are not for kid! That much is a fact. If Jimmy knew it was not a safety decision then I don't think he would have went into the electric shock cage. Amy is very sad that Jimmy did get a shock to become dead but she should feel relief that her brother's death has made the entire Earth more safer with this video. Very good video but a bit sad. I show it to all my kids and do tells them they don't need to go in a electric cage for frisbees and to be of a safer mind.

  • @grits207 I don,t think Amy would ever completely get over Jimmys death by lethal electricity, I would hope she did not end up committing suicide if she had it would have been very sad. Amy gave Jimmy, foolish advice but Jimmy should have said what I would have said Amy substations are dangerous places to go into woman and we must leave the frisbee and buy another one Amy.

  • @rojblake82 i think that jimmy really wanted super electric powers that he could shoot through his hands thats why he did it...

  • @JustAnotherOne1 Jimmy was a very silly lad, and he got as we saw a fatal electric shock and he was fried. Amy his poor sister, would have been very traumatised over the event for a long time poor girl.

  • To me this ad was never scary but I did learn many things from it never play near electricc substations, or electric pylons with frisbees or toys of any description. Amy the girl in this ad is very foolish, by advising her brother Jimmy to go and get the frisbee out of the substation. Jimmy is daft enough to go into the substation and he ends up dead and fried silly boy.

  • Always send Milton Waddams to retrieve articles from the substation.

  • hahah the girl well at least i have this other frisbey

  • @1111JackRabbit The girl Amy is giving foolish advice to Jimmy her brother, but he is daft enough to go into an electrical substation and get a fatal electric shock and also get himself burnt totoast silly lad.Amy is not to blame for Jimmys, death Jimmy was responsible for his own actions he ended up dead and burnt to toast silly boy.

  • If You Touch The Powerlines a boy or a girl should surely Die.

If Someone gets Killed, Everyone will be very very sad.

  • funfact: he wouldn't have been shocked IRL.

  • I think the little girl from this is Bianca from eastenders, but now JIIMMMMMYYYSSS dead, its RICCCKKKYYYY.

  • @JordanEmonds The little girl is Amy she is not from eastenders.

  • @rojblake82 - It was a joke about 4 months ago.

  • @JordanEmonds I should imagine the actrress who plays Amy is this ad is out of acting, by now and doing some more regular job with a regular income.

  • Schmokel Kokel Ruhb Ruhb Ruh this guy is toasted now :)

  • well... call me insensitive but... AWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA OWNED... to failblog with you mr. 'frisbee or die'...

  • JIMEEEEEEEHH

  • (((O) (O)))

    Yikes!

  • bk then kids were told the truith. now theyre just shelterd from everything

  • @bartsambo Isn't that the truth, now you screw up, it's always someone else's fault, wasn't enough signs, or fencing was insufficient...

  • thes a lesson here dont listen 2 girls

  • that would never happen now....kids to go outside anymore

  • @mariatas @TheOpenMinded12460 That was 1979, now today is 2010. Kids are so obese they couldn't get into a substation.

  • back in the day kids were told the straight up truth nowadays kids are just coddled to death

  • I think the US needs ads like these, the one about texting and driving from just a few months ago made me think.

  • Tragic.....think of all the meals that were ruined in the power cut that evening

  • @GibbletsMcGinty wtf thats the same joke used on the other video

  • @GibbletsMcGinty This ad is nothing to joke about Amy was a foolish girl, but Jimmy her brother was an even sillier bot to go into the substation to retrieve Amys frisbee. Jimmy got fatally electrocuted and fred to toast silly boy, he should have say Amy leave the frisbee and buy another one woman.

  • I once saw a man in outpatients who had received a massive shock from a pylon as a kid. He had a huge area of scarring that still required periodic surgical intervention 20+ years afterwards. I wont go into details but I can still remember this guy from circa 1985. Stay away from electricity sub-stations kids !

  • 0.53 - 132,000 volts?!? Jesus, that would be one hell of a shock!!!

  • Some of our pylons carry 400,000!

  • I bet they didn't have too many issues with kids breaking into substations after viewing this one. Too bad the kids also probably couldn't sleep for two weeks afterwards.

  • Well, thats what our commercials here in England were like. I see your from the U.S., what were yours like? The ones ive seen havenet been anywhere near as scary or gruesome, just some guy saying "dont do it"

  • for the most part, that's true, but the U.S. did have some great anti-drug PSA's.

  • @waveali

Seen it I don't know how many times, sleep like a lamb...

(NB this is the sorta stuff I look up regularly so industrial accident's really have cost me sleep since I was 7.)

  • wow that video is just shocking

  • That was quite a good throw i must add!

  • LMFAO!

  • Then when Jimmie woke up he realised he was different, thus Electron Man!! was born. Lets admit it, this is pretty tame compared t some of the "real life" videos running around the web of people getting electrocuted with steam coming out their ass and ears.

  • lol

  • LOL!!!!!!

  • If your stupid enough to go get your frisbe then you deserve to die.

  • Girl: Go on, get it Jimmy.

American 2009 Jimmy- GO F**K YOURSELF, B*TCH. YOU GIT IT.

  • LOL

  • @cocoaviolinist lol damn right that is what he would say

  • @cocoaviolinist I think Amy is one silly girl, saying go get it, but really Jimmy her brother is a very silly boy to go into the electrical substation to get back Amy's frisbee he ends up dead and fried to toast silly boy. Jimmy is responsible for his own actions, not Amy Jimmy should have say no Amy I am not going into electrical substations to get back a frisbee woman forget it we buy another frisbee Amy.

  • WOW I never knew America was so sensitive.

  • Welcome to reality : P.

  • @GhettoAttitude One doesn't get to have a huge empire without being somewhat violent. Or vulgar on regular occasions.

  • The music is creepy!

Substations always used to creep me out for some reason, now, much more so

  • This use to well freak me out as a kid.

Hope she's proud of herself - "go on, get it"..

  • Stupid Kid he was.

  • Hang on, when it shows other substations they are surrounded by chain link fence...... hmmm.

  • @aramanth

    Don't follow, "hmmm" what?

It's not impossible to defeat chain link, the advantage to the vertical fencing is it would be difficult to climb. (Never tired it so I can't be sure.)

  • How about the girl who egged Jimmy on to break in the power station? Major guilt there.

Emma (I named her Emma) is now a 40 year old recluse who is forever haunted by the ghost of little Jimmy Pants-On-Fire.

Moral: Don't play with frisbees! They are modern silent killers. Play with safe toys like bubbles, legos, or matches.

  • Gas filled Bubbles + Matches and wielding Lego Weapons = World War 2.5 hahaha

  • Public service announcement: Don't wear shoes made of cemtex.

  • Shit this was scary especially when his legs caught fire. Hey, wouldn't this be a great one to show to death row inmates who are about to be executed on the electric chair! Just to take the piss.

  • jjjjjjjjiiiiiiiiiiiimmmmmmmyyy lmao he probably deserved it lool

  • How would you feel if you were in Jimmy's shoes?

  • jimmy suxs he deserved too die

if he was stupid enuff too climb power cables

i woudent feelanything i say the 60,0000 shox killed him instantly he had a quick and painless death he should count himself lucky

  • Hot! Or electrocuted or something.

  • Shocked?

  • That girl knew it was dangerous and sent that kid in deliberately! I don't blame her

  • Gosh, everytime I go to look at the related videos that girl's face is staring at me ;(

  • im a teen and i think this thing shuld be released again but also 4 places like building sites and near level crossings am i rite?

  • Kids! Keep away from the corona...and the coroner will keep away from YOU!!

  • frying tonight!!

  • the music is so memorable - it's like a weird 70s precursor to aphex twin

  • You'd think they wouldn't put up a rickety old wooden fence around a substation.

  • I remember this from the 80's

  • I agree we need to teach kids to play safe but this ad is over the top.

  • wow i was 3 when this came out i rememebr the part when he gets shocked funny that i remeber that part

  • The gang of kids who broke in were much cooler than Jimmeeeee.

  • Comment removed

  • Jimeeeeeeee(e) knew the dangers. He was trying to impress his bird. Plus ca change. As Freud said, the eternal Woman draws us ever and on. Death is but a small price to pay.

  • @HewieOfHG

You don't know much about electricity, do you?

  • OMG...

  • I remember this as a kid (would have been 7 at the time it was released), wasn't scary (but then I turned out to be a geek), but was , and still is a pretty shocking (no pun intended.!) advert, certainly got the message across.

Maybe that's why I love high voltage stuff so much now!

Had a frisbee just like that as well :-)

  • Oh the horror..! I was shown this is a small child in primary school in the 80s. Some of my classmates had nightmares over it! But it worked - to this day I don't like to be anywhere even remotely near a substation.

Suprising though that the burning legs at the end were only on screen for such a short time - the image of it was still clear in my mind even though it's been more than 20 years!

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Jimmy is a perfect example of natural selection. He cannot spawn...for his offspring would continue a very bad, socially draining and intolerable gene pool. This could have all been prevented if the parents were sterilized.

  • what they don't tell you is it's not the volts that kill ya.

    it's the amps.

powerful, powerful stuff. don't play near electrical plants, british kids.

  • That was f'in hilarious! Man, the Brits sure know how to make a point, don't they?

  • omg that's scary

  • Thank god that kid didn't live to reproduce.

  • EUGENICS RULES!!!!! You are correct sir!!!!!!

  • lol law of the playground

  • There was another substation PIF, a more much up-to-date one from that shown above. I'm pretty sure it was amongst a series of PIFs, which were all related to the National Grid and, correct me if I'm wrong but they were shown in the early 90s. At the end of each one - it had "keep away from" or "stay away from" e.g Pylons, Substations in bold yellow print.

  • You copied my post! Copycat!

  • Yeah there were several. There was one made in 1996 called 2Electric Graffiti" that scared me senseless when I was 9. A kid gets immolated in a substation, very graphic. Was that the one you were thinking of?

  • these vintage PSAs scare the shit out of me.....

  • It definitely scares the living daylights out of you for sure. Does anyone know where that PIF was filmed or which substation was featured in it? It's featured again in another PIF on here, which is the reason why I'm asking.

  • Jimmy's blodd is on her hands. Now she has to carry that with her forever.

Remember, kids--DON'T LISTEN TO YOUR OLDER SIBLINGS. THEY WANT YOU DEAD.

  • @funkmike I think your comment that Jimmys blood is on her, hands is rather harsh to say and this girl Amy as I have named her is not finding her younger siblings being killed by high voltage electricity entertaining or amusing. Amy is screaming in, horror at the sight of Jimmy being fatally electrocuted by the high voltage electricity and also Amy would have been traumatised for a long time after this event. What you are saying don't listen to your older siblings they want you dead is spiteful

  • It definitely scares the living daylights out of you for sure. Does anyone know where that PIF was filmed or which substation was featured in it? It's featured again in another PIF on here, which is the reason why I'm asking.

  • what was the other substation pif called?

  • There was another substation PIF, a more much up-to-date one from that shown above. I'm pretty sure it was amongst a series of PIFs, which were all related to the National Grid and, correct me if I'm wrong but they were shown in the early 90s. At the end of each one - it had "keep away from" or "stay away from" e.g Pylons, Substations in bold yellow print.

  • Do you know what the other is called though?

  • Wow.

  • Wow! That was scary!!

  • horrorshow. the government had no heart in the 70s. "Spirit of dark and lonely water" springs to mind. Well, these obviously worked!!!

  • The modern ones shown on TV today are MUCH harder hitting, VERY explicit indeed.

  • But on the bright side, that heartless government made sure kids didn't go into these places. :\

  • Wow, that was really harsh for a kid's commercial!

  • It's not just a kid's commercial. It's for the community.

  • Holy crud, that's a frightening PSA! The British really know how to scare their kids into following safety rules. Jimmy's death was all HER fault - he didn't want to go in in the first place...

  • anyone got the farm safety ones

  • Chilling yes but a lot more effective then some of the preachier(and sometimes unintentionally funny) American PSA's.

  • the kid deserved what he got. he was a national security threat

  • that had to hurt, huh? *LOL*

  • I like how she volunteers him to go while she stays behind. I guess he wanted to impress her with his pluck.

  • the freeze frame was priceless!! [lmao]

  • JIMMY! *five second pause*

  • jimmy destri!! noooooooooo!!! [weeps]

BLONDIE would never be the same without a keyboard player!! lol

  • that was awesome!!

  • JIMMY!!!! lol

  • Why couldnt it have been that annoying girl. Oh well..

  • pwnd

  • "If the ominous buzz wasn't enough of a warning for him, then perhaps is better for the world if little Jimmy does die. Hidden meaning in PSAs. "

    Darwinism at its best. LOL

  • we can rebuild him...we have the technology...

  • If the ominous buzz wasn't enough of a warning for him, then perhaps is better for the world if little Jimmy does die. Hidden meaning in PSAs.

  • Chilling, indeed. Reminds me a bit of Adam and Eve...

  • Happy endings. The parents will probably sue the power company and the frisbee manufacturer. They'll make enough dosh to sink the Isle of Wight and retire relatively young. Not bad, that!

  • all for a frisbie costing a couple of quid! that was always the good thing about living in the UK! they don't hold back on PSA's

  • LOL.

  • o_o Jimmy! (?) my god x____X

  • how sad!!!!

  • i think its a good idea, it scares you enough to make you never try it

  • LMAO dear god! Would Blair classify this as "domestic terrorism"? give the kids recurrent nightmares, that will ensure their safety. Come to think of it, show them autopsy photos every other night, better safe than sorry.

  • holy crap

  • He'd be alive if kids knew what "apparatus" meant.

  • My thoughts exactly!

  • @carymc

Not likely, I have a feeling they would have just ignored it, like they did the fence. (Plus 'Danger' should have been enough to indicate that "maybe we shouldn't go in there"...)

  • Looks like you guys had scarier PSAs compared to the ones we have in the states.
