@GrainneMhaol We used to have it all the time when I was a kid, although it was bought in slices rather than the whole thing! Tongue sandwiches - yum! It has a quite a strong flavour. Very nice!

@GrainneMhaol Duck tongue is actually a very frequent dish in Chinese cuisine. I'm not sure about the rest of the cultures, though.

@GrainneMhaol - In Mexico beef tongue is eaten frequently. We eat in in tacos and they are very good. The tongue is boiled in water with salt, onion, garlic and bay leaves. After it is cooked, it is peeled and then cut up in small chunks. Then you put in in small tortillas for tacos and you top it off with a delicious green salsa (made from roasted tomatillos and serrano peppers), fresh cilantro and onion. My son is seven and he loves tongue tacos!!!

This really was a great show so much better than watching some celebrity chef prating about with balsamic vinegar. I love that, for a vegearian, Sue was always very game when it came to eating odd bits of dead animals.

Many people find Giles lack of manners in this program disgusting but I don't. It would be plain and boring if he ate properly. His behavior with food is cute. Besides it's just for the show I don't believe that he eats so in real life.

@xHelenPx I have to say from experience, you're right. Food is rare and usually quite functional, if not truly awful, in boarding schools. You get it, you shove it down and you go off to do something more productive. Public school may be posh, but luxurious it ain't.... it takes a wife from a good girls boarding school to set the table manners!
