A state Senate panel Wednesday advanced Gov. Bobby Jindal-backed public records legislation that would continue and expand the Governors Offices ability to shield records from public scrutiny.
A short time later, the Senate and Governmental Affairs Committee killed separate legislation that would have brought the same transparency to the Governors Office thats in the law today for other public officials and government agencies
Don't forget that Fema is starting to ask for their trailers back and these people don't have their homes rebuilt yet? I haven't seen Piyush address that yet?
Jindal is refusing any money that goes straight to the people.
Gov. Bobby Jindal said that his top legislative priorities for the coming week are passing a bill that lets money from an economic-development fund be used to support a North Louisiana chicken plant,
and defeating legislation that would clear the way for Louisiana to accept $98 million in new federal financing for unemployment benefits.
"and defeating legislation that would clear the way for Louisiana to accept $98 million in new federal financing for unemployment benefits."
This right here is one reason it would be a cold day in h_ll before I would vote for Piyush. If he doesn't care about the the unemployed, then I don't care for him and will vote against him.
I doubt that he will get that chance. Lets put it this way: the GOP lost the last election because they bet on Palin as V.P. Let me tell you something: has McCain picked Romney, Michigan could have gone to him because a lot of the UAW members like Romney due to the MI connection. My point: if they pick Piyush they picked another Palin which is another lose. Hannity and Rush had little to no effect on this last election.
I think you are right but Jindal has raised around 3 million so far and he will try to run.
I also think that if McCain had picked florida governor Charlie Crist , he might have won. We see that Rush has become the leader of the GOP so I think we see him back at least Palin and a outside chance of backing Jindal.
The only good thing is that if Jindal runs the national media will eat him alive and not even fox news will be able to protect him.
11,839 state workers have annual salaries of more than $70,000, which costs state government more than $1.1 billion in payroll, according to the records of the Department of State Civil Service, which oversees state workers.
Jindal has spent more than any other governor before him. He increased the budget by 1.1 billion dollars, He has grown state government by 4 thousand people during his so called hiring
freeze, He gave all his buddies big raises.Louisiana now has a 2 billion dollar deficit. Now he wants to spend 1 million dollars of stimulus money on a bridge off of a mud road for a
private enterprise. Jindal is nothing but big spending and more government.
You keep spouting this everywhere and in place you even say to research it to "see for yourself". Well I have researched and found nothing to verify what you state here.

Republican Gov.Jindal`s $50 million appropriation to keep a chicken-processing plant open in Farmerville may help Gov. Bobby Jindal win legislative support for an $85 million Superdome overhaul at the other end of the state, some lawmakers say.
Is a chicken plant going to make me like this (Saints deal) better? Probably so," said Rep. Noble Ellington, D-Winnsboro. . This gives me a lot more reasons" to support the use of surplus state funds for the Superdome project.

That is very good point and some of these people are still working to rebuild there homes.
Jindal is only looking for things that will help him run for president in 2012. I think the national media will eat him alive if he does run.

Cancel Pityush's support from the poor and people in need. I guess he can be the rich people's candidate, another Dan Quayle.

Gov. Bobby Jindal wants to accept more than $2 billion from the federal economic package.
Davis said the governor plans to accept:
$950 million to $1.1 billion for health care.
$580 million for education.
$430 million for transportation.
$129 million for budget stabilization.
$24 million for child support enforcement.
Much of the money will be spent over two years

You mean he now wants to take stimulus money that he refused upfront? That is really Alaska of him?
ChicagoJoe57 2 years ago
Yes it is and he always planned on taking stimulus money, this was just a political stunt
It is sad enough that Jindal is screwing louisiana, but no way should this clown be allowed to screw the nation.
spock8585 2 years ago
Is he taking the unemployment money or our his unemployed suppose to eat dirt like the unemployed in 2004?

I agree with you and this shows Jindal does not care about the people he only cares about getting a chance to run for president.
The governors office was just another stepping stone for Jindals career.
