Crysis needs so much system resources because I thas so many particles fling around everywhere. try getting a new GPU with at least 512 mb of VRAM and at least 192 cores. Sadly I myself cant afford an amazing gpu right now. on high setting I get about 32 fps.

i have Crysis and i cant get it to go to very high settings. why is this it just apears as white and the rest is green where i can select high, medium or low settings. why is this?

Are you using windows vista, if not then you can not have Very High settings because very high settings require Direct X 10, and only windows vista supports it, although you can try and get a custom config file for Crysis that will allow you to run Crysis as good as very high, on High settings.

@mattyovers1 did you know you can EASILY do a 1007 barrel explosion in realtime with only a little lag? its so easy just press , right after you shoot at the pile of red barrels and look away until you think its not going to fry your pc i did it with MY ATI Radeon 3100 lol in realtime so you should not have much lag as me try it and tell me what happens

Yeah, I've been looking and found a 8800 Alpha Dog that I'm gonna get, and I've also decided to get the 750i on the P5N-D instead of the P5N-E. I was just kinda feeling out how accurate the reviews of the 8600 were, I really don't trust word of mouth without a proper sample size of people, and it is worse and the 8800 is only 20 or 30 bucks more on TigerDirect, now all I have to do is wait on that damn paycheck.

yo we got like the same pc. I recently bought the 8800 GTS g92 alpha dog as well, and the same 750i P5N-D motherboard. I'm not sure if they still do, but they had a deal on a quad core cpu, I would recommend looking for it. gives you a lot of peace of mind for the upcoming technology. i'll just say you won't be dissapointed. I can run crysis at 1024x760 2xAA, water/textures/sound/water very high and the rest high at like 40 fps. if you do end up buying it, enjoy :).

Yep, 1440x900 w/ 2xAA and pre buffered frames a little higher, they were out of the 750i so I did end up w/ the 650, but it runs everything well and no hardware/driver issues. Pleased with the graphics, patches just f**ked up my game and won't install right, and the story sort of sucked, but I got it and beat it, it's just a bitch keeping the comp cool when my house is like 85* b/c of insulation issues. But great card, decent game, and gotta love the Q6600, way step up from T7400 C2D laptop chip

Well i had Vista Home Premium and Ultimate on this machine at one stage and XP just gives such better performance.

That just depends on the hardware, to me I have to restart my computer if I want to run Crysis on really good fps, if it has been on for at least, 3 hours then Crysis with lag, the fps will drop, dont no why, its strange.

I don't have super hardware, but its ok, and I did dual boot at one time, depending on what you have running on Vista e.g. Windows Sidebar, DWM, Aero, they use allot of hardware all put together as with me I have them all turned off, using Windows classic style, causes less crashes and exceptions, and runs so much smooth.

The 8600GT is a crappy card, you should have bought the 8800GT. In tests the 8600GT that you have has actually been proven to be slower than the old 7600GT.

The 8600GT is much more better than the crappy 7600GT, forums meen nothing, its all about facts, the 7600GT does not support vista, or DirectX 10 and only has pixel shader 3.0, not only the 8600 is better for graphics, it can render multiple tasks at once. There proven.

Yes, in this video I am running Crysis at 15fps in Sandbox, that was because my GFX drivers were not updated and there was allot of background program in use. In the game by its self I get 35fps, 15fps at its lowest, 60fps at its highest. (not in detail in action)
