I've been inside one & the visibility is as good as any I've been in. as for the price it's not any more expensive then a comparable Pete or Kenworth.

As a technician at a local international dealer, the lone star is a decent truck for todays roads and drivers needs it has the comforts of home.......BUT THIS THING IS A BASTARD TO WORK ON, that slooped hood restrics foward access to front of engine, and not real crazy about the independent suspesion, should have kept the solid beam axle, the 13 liter is a better choice than the p.o.s ISX....bad day at work
@rpm371 i gotta disagree, i work as a towing operator and our international is always good never had problems except when it was in a accident but since it was fixed its still been running good. we had a peter and it was ok but broke down a few times, though it was more comfortable to me than the international. volvo i hear is decent or great, and mack i never heard anything but then again have they been used as tow trucks?
@JanusCarrera I love Mack trucks but there hasn't really been a 100% Mack truck since around 2001 before they were bought out by Volvo. The new models still use the Mack frame and camelback suspensions but I believe the engines are based on Volvo designs, which I've heard are more problematic than the previous Mack E7 engine. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I seem it funny they call truck for International. In Australia you only drive from city to City. So International mean to drive from Country to another Country. So why is it called International ? I find it kinda funny. It should probably be named intercity. Since only way they drive is from city to city not from country to country.

Anybody know what model they're drawing their inspiration from for this one? Looks like a nice enough truck, but that front end would be a problem for Australian operators. Australian trucks have bullbars; full body armour to keep stray animals out of the radiator. Namely things like 6 foot tall kangaroos. This would need a more complicated bullbar to accomodate that distinctive front end

Who bought these ? I drive for a courier company in New Jersey. I travel alot. From Mass to Maryland . I've only seen 2 in my travels and I'm on alot of highways. The first was an O/O on the BQE in NY when they first came out. The second time was on the NJ Turnpike last week. It was a MIDLAND truck.

Trucks and trains do consume a huge amount of fuel but when you divide that by the frieght they haul it is minimal. The wind mills are giving the message that this truck is better for our environment then other trucks.

Diamond International in Memphis has two of these sitting next to a ProStar. To me it looks like the only differences between the two are the hood and bumper. This is good--the ProStar is a nice truck, and it can't cost much just to put a different hood and bumper on one.
2010 changes all the emissions regulations for big trucks. You're allowed to meet the NOx regs in one of two ways: advanced EGR, and selective catalytic reduction. SCR requires a special fluid. International doesn't want to use SCR, and Cummins is an SCR company. So no more Cummins in IH trucks. The MaxxForce is a good engine. It will screw up a lot of fleets though--LOTS of us have big stocks of Cummins ISX parts.

Trucks and trains do consume a huge amount of fuel but when you divide that by the frieght they haul it is minimal. The wind mills are giving the message that this truck is better for our environment then other trucks.

@drummmnutt1 I guess I didn't get the message when I seen the wind turbines. Trains have the cost & green advantage over trucks for freight hauling. The rail roads lost influence in Washington DC & the trucking industry slipped in the door. As we move more beyond peak oil rail will be the darling for much of freight needs

@donyunger If you want your freight delivered to within 250 miles of your receiver & you have six months to get it there use the railroad. if you want it delivered in a few days to the receiver's dock call a trucker. Green advantage? really? each cylinder in a locomotive is the size of a 5 gallon bucket. if it weren't for Government subsidies all the railroads would have went out of business 50 years ago.

Diamond International in Memphis has two of these sitting next to a ProStar. To me it looks like the only differences between the two are the hood and bumper. This is good--the ProStar is a nice truck, and it can't cost much just to put a different hood and bumper on one.

2010 changes all the emissions regulations for big trucks. You're allowed to meet the NOx regs in one of two ways: advanced EGR, and selective catalytic reduction. SCR requires a special fluid. International doesn't want to use SCR, and Cummins is an SCR company. So no more Cummins in IH trucks. The MaxxForce is a good engine. It will screw up a lot of fleets though--LOTS of us have big stocks of Cummins ISX parts.
