  • 1starbo7 is me so check out my vids of this pt gt HO on this profile (starionboi).

  • You all need to check out our pt gt HO that I built with NO TUNE. We put WRX's to shame and STI 's and evo's and srt-4's.

  • wow whats stupied wrx had a start on him bye like 1 sec look for selfs real close

  • hey this guy is cool, even though he lost he still posted the video, much respect man.

  • @firefightjason, So sorry, I accidentally deleted your comment when I meant to answer it. Your question was what speed did the PT top out at ?

The PT in the vid before its driver let go of the accelerator made it to about 180km/h. At the time it didn't have the legs to have any chance of catching the WRX which had also got the jump off the line.

  • That was a damn good run! Shoulda done a roll. haha

  • hey I tell you what you my friend has a wrx open exhaust and my girl has a pt 06 with after market dual exhaust intake and a boost controller and she rips him everytime

  • Larger turbo isn't a must to beat a WRX. Once I had opened up the exhaust (3" turboback) and upped the boost to 18 psi peak, holding 15 at redline, he refused to run against me ever again until he sold the car. I had plenty of top end then.

  • Turbo PT Cruisers are pretty quick. However, they cannot compete with the WRX. Perhaps if a larger turbo, and other modifications are installed then possibly a PT Cruiser could beat a WRX.

I have a PT Cruiser Turbo with a cool air intake, performance muffler and catalytic converter and beat an older Ford Mustang 5.0. Then again the older Ford Mustangs with the 5.0 are not too fast compared to more recent sports cars.

  • hehe, you've never raced my uncle's mustang or my camaro, i've got a 91 RS and he has an 88 GT. I'm just gonna say that his stang runs 11's on 8 in. street tires and my camaro isn't far behind on 7.5 in. street tires

  • I think he means those being in STOCK form, not modded. Even with nitrous ANY car can go 11's.

  • well when he raced his down the quarter when it was stock, it ran 12's. he doesn't use a clutch to shift. neither do I. my camaro runs low 12's right now.

  • oh, and btw. my dad has a stock pt cruiser, auto and n/a. I've run it down the track and it ran 15's

  • Stock turbo? There is no way mine would run 15s even with the back seats out.

  • I just said n/a. naturally aspirated. and it's an automatic too. It ran a 15.82. not very fast but it's quick for a naturally aspirated, automatic little car. and I'm talking about the 1/4 mile also. not the 1/8th

  • I'd have to actually take it to the track to test mine out. It doesn't feel fast. However I plan on giving her a little more punch soon.....without adding a turbo.

  • well my dad's doesn't feel very fast at all. but I know it beats the shit out of little riced out hondas and acuras. I've even raced a turbo scion tC in my dad's car and beat it. I don't know what it is, but the little cruiser is just quick.

  • Good to know. I'll start with taking the back seats out, cold air intake, free the exhaust and maybe lighter rims and MAYBE a dependable chip.

  • haha, well his car's staying stock. and the camaro's been gone, so now i guess it's just the neon. 1997 by the way, 5 speed, sport model. it should be quicker than my dad's car, but I have yet to run it down the track

  • Back seats are a hundread pounds even, Think may be a 1/10 faster at the end of the ¼ mile MAX. If what you call a "cold air intake" is an exposed conical air filter somewhere under the hood, don't bother ! Been there, done that, tested it on down the ¼ mile and was slower than the unmodded stock air box w/ a paper filter. Replace the tubing between the airbox and the turbo by something unrestrictive and put a K&N in the airbox, then you'll be quicker. Larger exhaust, yes ! Mopar S1 too.

  • @QcRoman the back seats are 100 lbs or even close to it. one year we took it to the mopar meet in sac to race, well we were impressed with only 300 bucks into it, it ran a 14.03 at 106mph but thats with a 5speed. now we just have 800 bucks into it and it still does the same time but no traction until we hit half track. fallowing mods now is 735cc injectors/ hard pipes 2 1/2 inch/ 3 bar map&3 bar tip/

  • @1starbo7 / ported head that i did/ home made steel intake pipping running to the stock air box with k&n filter/ sent the stock ecu off to b&g mopar to get a 23 psi flash along with no speed limiter or rpm limiter/ stock turbo/ home made exhaust(side mount 3 inch) solid motor mounts. i know i am missing some but we still have under a grand in it and sti's and evo's and s2k's dont have a mtach along with srt-8's lol

  • @1starbo7 the belts broke and got sucked into the timing belt when we were racing a stk-supercharged, well we were pulling on him with wheel spin untill it all got sucked in and broke.. luckly its a free floating head so no harm but before we take it out of our shop its going to have a header along with a holset hx40-r witch is a hybrid, bigger intercooler, 264 cams, fuel pump and a new b&g mopar retune at 25 to 30 psi with meth pre sets, luckly we built the head with arp head studs.

  • @1starbo7 and if you want.. i have a few vids of it before it broke with only (less then a g) in it.

  • yeh i feel you no top end in are cars sucks huh

  • well that blows you know what that means bigger turbo more hp but more lag
