It's so interesting. Combination of Instruments and styles from different cultures. It's new thing but so interesting. For example I heard Chinese music on Indian Sitar, So graet!
Saren Gaowa is Mongolian not Uighur. She studied song and dance from Mongolia, Uyghur people and other groups in that area like Khazak, etc. Former Chinese leader Chu En Lai saw her performance and said that she should sing and dance; so that's what she did. Dr. Lloyd Miller
Thank you for your comment. Right, the first part of the video, as was noted, is of two Uyghur musicians from Kashgar playing dutar & qijak who are very authentic. The last part is a song by noted Mongolian vocalist Saren Gao Wa who is also a dancer. Long ago Chou En Lai, after seing her performance, stated "she should sing and dance." I am sure her vocal is correct. The instrumental accompaniment is by me and maybe not perfect. I don't have a real morin hur but I tried to represent recordings.
this is not a traditional Mongolian music! clearly they DO NOT look Mongolian at all! Probably some where around Kazakh area. It might be their traditional music, but please do no the confuse the other cultural differences.
