What is amazing about this performance is that when he's done, there is five *full* seconds of clearly awestruck silence before he says "Thank You" and the audience starts applauding furiously. This *never* happens with artists these days. Incredible. Beautiful. Enormously powerful. It stays with you long after.
Only time I've seen tht kind of reaction was when I saw Tom Waits in '76. He closed with Tom Traubert's Blues, just him and his baby grand alone on stage. A few seconds of that "awestrcuk silence", then an old fashioned standing ovation (no yelling, whistling, etc., just deafening applause)
When the house lights went up, the awestruck silence returned, and everyone just filed out in a daze. You could hear a pin drop
Those of you that are citing other artists should really check out Philip Glass. Stevens does musically cyclical things in many songs that echo Glass's work, such as Glassworks, Koyanisquatsi, etc. Really beautiful stuff...but not for everyone. Oh, and also Sigur Ros (if you don't mind not knowing the language most of the time).

I saw him at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville while he was on this tour, and let me just say... it was quite possibly the greatest concert i have ever attended.
Every song was absolutely perfect.
The best moments of the entire night was when he started off with Sister (the version i'm currently watching), and the acoustic encore later on (There were no microphones, so the sold-out crowd had to be totally quite to hear him talk/play).
It was so beautiful, and I hope to see him again someday.
I can't wait to see him live some day. This song is very beautiful. The live version might be better thant the album version. But anyway, Seven Swans is a masterpiece.
this is easily the best version of this song i've heard. i can't believe i couldn't find a better version of it as an MP3 (no offense to you, the quality is fantastic for a cam copy! thanks so much!!).
I don't know what it is, but this song takes me out of this world. I have the most profound thoughts while listening. Perfect melody. Can nayone recommend any other songs or bands like this? really chillin melodic music?
I think this is one of his best tracks, just because of where it is placed it the album. I got this album on Christmas day and sat listening to it, i thought it was great, but the tracks merged a bit until you reach this one which just blows your mind.
Yeah, this track IS mindblowing.

It's a shame this song is only 6 minutes long... He could have easily stretched the instrumentals another 20 minutes... I wouldn't mind.

The way he commands total attention and silence of the crowd during the piano part is phenomenal
and the way he says "I'll show you the sky" - immeasurably beautiful

I second Bon Iver. Beautiful and true. Also Avett Brothers are beyond imagining with honesty and being genuine in music and person.
I would check out "For Emma, Forever Ago" of Bon Iver for starters.
Enjoy.
