@chico3jones lol it would seem that way but it's really not. A successful Kpop artist like Lee Hyori would sale 100,000+ albums in contrast to a successful Jpop or even Turk pop artist who like Tarkan (turkey) and Arashi (japan) would sale over 1 million+ albums. While kpop does have a huge fan base they have a hard time grabbing fans who would actually buy their music rather than illegally downloading it from the internet. YouTube views really don't mean a thing when it comes to album sales.

@chico3jones TOTALLY AGREE with you on that!!! but like i said that's just the way the run business and no actually Japan has and continues to sell 100x more than K-pop could ever dream to sell, just look at the year end world charts, Japan is the ONLY non English nation to rank in Top 40

Im pretty sure AVEX is partners with youtube like Korean companies so their profiting from dvd sales + youtube partners.

@genmcd Good thing (for Avex) they aren't, a big YG group like Big Bang will only sale 100,000~200,000 albums while a big Avex artist like Koda Kumi will sale between 500,000~2 million albums. Avex's strategy may not make many fans but it prevents their videos and music from being downloaded illegally which is the biggest problem in kpop. Giving fans a little taste like Avex makes you want more (even might make you made) and you just might by the album.
