I think more emphasis should by payed towards "ding bu". It's easy to forget the whole purpose of taiji quan is to not only fix the body posture, but harness the vast strength good posture can manifest. However I really like the flow here. The player has a great grasp on incorporating formlessness. Also great transitioning;impressive gong!
in english dong is often spelt tung.try to find the clip of tung pushing u will have no doubt of his ability.his fast form is also quite a nice form.u can get films of dan lee doing this form
Omg. The forms here are EXACTLY the same as those in 115 Yang Style Taichi. Whoever "invented" this style merely took the 115 Yang forms and practiced it using a flow that's very similar to that of Chen Style and called it the Dong Family's Taichi. Omg = ="
Then again, who am i to critic this? Can't put someone down for trying to innovate.
But imho it's best to practise Yang Style with Yang movements, and Chen Style with Chen movements to reap the best benefits. If one's doing this one might as well learn Chen Style. Again, it's only my OPINION.
Omg you are right that Dong was from Yang Style.Dong was the disciple of Yang Deng Pu and Dong was quite famious in 1960s in Hongkong.See Ming has performed very well.Congratulations.Paulchew
Lol. Please don't be mistaken. It's just that i got a shock when i first saw this video. Wasn't trying to be sarcastic or anything. I later went to check out about Dong style and found that it does exist, but Youtube doesn't allow us to delete our comments. So that's why. Hope that you don't take offense for it. Haha. =\
