@infringinator Probably still is. I haven't had it in years, and my older reviews (pretty much all of 2008) are crap, and I'd take them with a grain of salt.
I love how the guinness beer performs in the glass when poured so i'm gonna love how this one perform's. even thought i live in ontario i don't see this one sold in most liquor store locations i been in but i have a can 2 try. havnt seen a beer perform that way in a while since i had many a guinness b4 but not in a while cheer's.
@samm1809 I agree. The nitro widget is purely a marketing thing when you think about it, but then again, it is not bad. Sometimes I like the extra creamy feel it provides.
This is a heavier, thicker beer than most lagers without quite reaching stout territory. "Guiness light" is a pretty accurate description. Nice color, smooth and creamy head, goes down very well. One of my favorites. :)
@TommyUB i have this beer some cold shots(used 2 like them way more)and some other beers. if you came over today lol id give ya a cold shot 2 drink cheers
in my opinion all these "irish cream" beers have a better sounding name than the actual taste of the beer. I've tried lots and over the years i've realized i'm just not an irish cream beer. but to each his own, cheers!
It'a just a good session beer. I like it when out at our local pub, but like you said, not even close to a Guiness. Goes great with deep fried mushrooms, and chicken wings! Cheers!
@MephistoWaits I would not want to find out how one would feel after drinkig too many Guinness! I am drinking a can of Devil's Pale Ale 666, and it is fantastic! Made in Ontario by Great Lakes Brewery. 6%, 666 Kilos of malt, 6.66 kilos of hops, 66.6 min of boiling! On the back, it says "The devil made me brew it"! Cheers!
@flatliner35 You must be gettin' paid well to commend carbonated trough water you fuckin' panzy. You can take that pathetic shit and stick up your boyfriend's ass.
@Kurplutzo You are one dumb little puke........if someone needs to tell you what a session beer is, you really shouldn't drink.....stick with your Kool Aid son.
@flatliner35 You got big words for someone who drinks commercial piss water. Do you think Ballpark franks are filet mignon too? Do you know what filet mignon is? Have you ever actually drank a fuckin' beer in you life lol!!!
@Kurplutzo You now know what kind of beer I drink? Your something special fella. I drink all grain, and even kit beer, as well as macro beer, I guess I am just not good enough for the likes of you.....LOL! Get a life.
Nice color, and head due to the widget. Sweet flavors of caramel transitioning to burned toast but the burned toast is not off putting. More malty then hoppy. One of my favorites
from what i have understood there are another type of kilkenny too, Kilkenny Irish draught beer or something.... cant get the irish cream where i live, but another kind of kilkenny
fuckin lovely drink is Kilkenny! nice smooth texture, slite sweetness in the back of the mouth, bitter and the head, oh the head is beautiful... just watchin the ale stir n change after pourin it is a thing of true beauty, its magic before ur very eyes :D also comes in a nice lookin can :D
No aroma cuase it's canned, nothing scientific, but never had any good experience with canned beer, they usually taste flat n no aroma.
Don't many people say Bud Light is agreeable n smooth? so I'm not sure if agreeable n smooth r good things. I'll just stick with Rougue Chocolate Stout, lol.
You should try german ALT beer. I would say it has quite a strong and dark taste, but I believe people who like stout will also learn to love ALT. Sadly i cant find any ALT in Finland :(
@oler00 It has apparently just been introduced to the U.S. in 2010 and has not made its way all that far from pub life. Very hard to come by at this point but is slowly spreading.
Whe reason why the foam is to thick, is because you shacked it before pouring it and because you waited to long also... like you said. You can get a perfect foam with it everytime... so its not because of the can.
Well, you can find the cans here in Canada, and probably in most countries that it's imported to. As far as Slovenia goes, I have no clue, man. If you can get it in bottles, stick with that.
I didn't quite have the can at a 45 degree angle, but it was a decent pour.
Not good with the foam? A good head makes beer drinking all the more enjoyable, especially when it's a creamy one like with Kilkenny or Guinness. Presentation is part of the enjoyment.

i didnt say it doesnt look good but it takes longer to settle and the beer might get warm..cuz i cant drink enough for it not to get warm waiting for it to settle lol.
Kilkenny is deffinetly my fauvorite irish beer, guinness and other stouts r rly good but Kilkenny haves that kind of incredible smoothness and drinkability that i dont know in any other beer xD
i cant find kilkenny anywhere! is it worth buying?

i'll be honest, i prefer carbon dioxide to nitrogen. the nitrogen just seems like nothing more than a fake advantage to me.

@flatliner35 I actually prefer this to Guinness. It's much easier to sit down and drink 6 or 8 of these than doing the same with the ol' black stuff.

oler00 3 years ago
I wouldn't know. I assumed it wouldn't be hard to find in the USA, as it's a fairly popular beer.
elharlock 3 years ago
wee bit of info man- The thicker head probably means you started with a "warmer than reccomended" glass. Its usually the same thinckness as guinness.
rogerthetodger 3 years ago
Interesting. I'm going to have to test this. Thanks.

Great review......the Irish Tasters Pack is a great buy, and I'm about to enjoy a Kilkenny right now!
Also, Kilkenny isn't available in the US.
MephistoWaits 2 years ago
@elharlock we don't have it here. Besides, I doubt it would be the same. Like Guiness, it would probably be watered down anyways.
