I like Vanguards the same reason Mr. Sark would...shotguns. Plus you get pull which is amazing plus shockwave. I played through the missions where there are husks and shockwave is just jezus.
I played as a vanguard and I hated it. I don't like getting close up it leaves you extremely vulnerable but I don't discount it being a great class the vanguard powers are amazing but I prefer the Infiltrator/Soldier/Sentinel. I just started an Engineer play thru and I like it but not as much as an infiltrator.
Personaly i love playing as Sentinel he is ready for every situation.... overload for shields, warp for bariers and armor... and then there is tech armor because of which you are almost unkillable... its just mine opinion no need for spreading it around... :D anyone can play what they want its theirs bussines.. :D

Rumor has it that all classes will be able to use all weapons in ME3. The catch being that, for example, the soldier be able to carry like 4 weapons at a time whereas the biotic, for example, would only be able to carry 2.
I'm on board with that, personally. Infiltrator being able to stealth up to a target and unload with a shotgun sounds fun to me.
@SageVallant You are indeed Correct. in ME2 all classes can use any type of gun. I would assume that Soldier get's 4 slots, vanguards and infiltrators get 3 and the sentinel, adept and engy get's 2.
I would also assume that come classes get weapon bonuses, similar to how borderlands worked (in the fact that Mordicai had a better proficenary increase rate for snipers than the soldier type guy)
every class is extremely good if you know how to lvl it. i personaly like the vanguard cuz the battles are very dinamic with him. in the early game playing him is more difficult and dangerous, but if played rignt you can anihilate the enemy. and in the late game he is just unstoppable.
but every class has his strenght i like them all... ok i almost all, i dont like the infiltrator, cuz of the cloack, and the soldier cuz of his rambo looking style. but they has their good sides too
Infiltrator class really rocks if you want to play as stealth and killing enemies 1 bullet at a time tactically , i use Armor Piercing Ammo + Widow Sniper Riffle(upgraded) + Incinirate ability or Cloack when Eliminating Enemies on Insane mode. Just Pick a Squad member with Warp or Overload , use em First to reduce Barrier and Shoot a Head Shot easy.................Draw back you need to time your shots and pick em Carefully 1 mistake and your dead meat , may preferred class in the entire game
I would never dream of playing as anything other than a infiltrator, tried playing as a soldier and didn't even met Wilson in the first quest (to generic for my tastes)
Vanguard is really the best, why ? well fully upgrade the shotgun, go with the fast firing one, heavy charge, and choose heavy slam: you will totaly rape

Soldier = Pick the Mattock heavy rifle, The Phalanx Pistol, Geth plasma shotgun, The Widows sniper rifle. If you have upgraded every sniper rifle upgrades a clean headshot deal over 1900 damage which is enough to take out at least 2 layers of protection in 1 time and the Mattock can fire faster than a Revenant if you tap the mouse button fast enough. The Phalanx pistol is more accurate than a sniper rifle and the Plasma Shotgun is okay. 1 Thing Adreline Rush Widow Sniper Headshot = Instant death

Then once i got the revnant machine gun w/ accurecy increase it was a tank and a half. Especially if you took on Grunts fortification power. Basicly a walking Tower shooting out an 80 ammo clip of fire for organics or disruptor for mechs. If there were lots use an adrenaline rush and mow em down. was awesome
Sentinels&Vanguards = Tank classes. You can walk through enemies and leave a trail of bodies without even losing a drop of health. These classes can regenerate their shields at will with Charge and Tech armor. For the beginner pick the Sentinel which is surprizing since the Sentinel is the specialized class yet seems to have a lower learning curve than the Vanguard which has to continuely play smart and grab cover while using charge as much as possible. The Sentinel just has keep tech armor up.
Soldier&Infiltrator = One Man army classes. You can wipe out entire platoons in seconds. Soldiers are more general and can fight in any spot, Infiltrators are more specialized and have to hide and conserve ammo harder but reap plenty of benefits. For a beginner, pick soldier. After your first playthrough, you should have enough skills for the tricker (not exactly better) Infiltrator.
what are all these people talking about? you can start a new character on insanity (although some classes are MUCH harder than others). i started a vanguard out on insanity and it was fine. i did die ALOT at the beginning but once i got the claymore i raped everything. right now i just started an infiltrator on insanity and its really fun
It's still one of the lesser abilities of the classes. Shotguns lack accuracy and vanguards cant get the collector rifle which leaves them with the choice of the collector shotgun (which isnt quite as good as it seems) or the ability to wield a sniper or assault rifle. It still has its uses but on insanity its often more a suicide then a good tactic. The other classes tend to have a easier playthru on higher difficulties due to better abiities to use. Plus it does pretty much no damage at all.
@aranhar Thank god Bioware released that Eviserator shotgun that actually packs a decent punch and is usable at medium range. If not for that Vanguard would suck even more on the higher difficulties.
Sometimes using that ability against just 1 enemy is suicide as you die in 1 second after using it. Do not even think about charging a group of enemies.
@drag0nfis7 Who cares if they recharge your shields when they are destroyed in 1 second? I have played Vanguard on Insanity. You charge somebody and if you do not kill them in a single burst of fire they kill you in about 2 seconds. If you reload you die. Perhaps it works better when you have decent gear and some levels because otherwise you are made of tissue shields or not.

only if you import a character that you finished ME2 with. So if you played a playthrough in ME2 with any class, start a new game with that same character by importing it.

I think the deadpixle is a fucking idiot meat-head who only likes to shoot shit on video games and doesn't care at all for a decent story, hence why he likes Halo so fucking much. later in the game you get to pick a weapon specialization. it is during the first collector ship mission and you can pick a claymore shotgun, a sniper thing or an assault rifle.

@djdilstar I chose Vanguard because I had the ability to learn weapondry as well as biotics (Including Warp ammo, charge, slam, barrier etc) you can choose w/e you want. But its you choice overall. Btw, I chose Tali the first time.....*SPOILER* Soooo dissapointed you didn't get to see her face

I hate the soldier, at least in mass effect 1. Went up and beat Feros, got tired of it and quit. Came back a year later, retried as a vanguard and i love mass effect now. Glad to see my class is a whole lot awesomer now. Can't wait to see CookyNinja Shephard in ME2 soon, after i beat ME1

Sentinel IS the best class in the game. I'm not being a fanboy or defending the class, it just is. If you play on Insanity, Sentinel is the best and most flexible with every situation. In my opinion, this is a list of what I think are the best classes when played on INSANITY.
1) Sentinel
2) Adept / Engineer (too close to call)
3) Infiltrator
4) Soldier
5) Vanguard

vanguard is the best class i finished the game with infiltrator and it was easy on normal and it was awesome but now that ive finished the main story there is absolutely nothing to do thats why im returning it but i give it a 9/10
Soldier <3 i like the Incendiary ammo, the Revenant LMG and the Cain, Took down the last boss by first spraying him with disruptor ammo in the face a bit then 1 shot with the cain and BAM, down "it" goes :D
solider class is in my opinion the best. best weapons, you can slow down time to like 30% speed so everyone is just standing still and you do extra damage when you do it. also you can train and get a biotic power like slam or something like that. also every type of ammo, and skills like commando are amazing. I've tried other class's but they just aren't as effective. and biotics are down played in this game so they kind of suck, and that teleport thing is suicide on harder settings
if you play on a harder setting dont use vanguard. the teleport is suicide if you jump into a group of 3 or more. they just gun you down, stick with soldier
yeah any class can get any gun later on in the game in the Collector ship. The bad ass AR, the GETH widow sniper, or the Korgan model shotgun. As a Sol class I did 3 play through and got all 3 of the beast guns.

i have all the upgrades for my machine pistols, i've only found 1 other machine pistol, 1 heavy pistol excluding the one first given, 1 assualt rifle, 1 shotgun and the krogan shotung and the widow sniper rifle in teh collector ship. i'm on my first run through, hopefully there is more guns!!!!!!!!!

Solider: Shoot everything with everything, and go all matrix on em with adr. rush.
Infiltrator: Keep your distance, use tactical cloak, aim for the fuckin' skull.
Vanguard: Close the distance, tell em Fuck you, blow their face into oblivion.
Adept: USE THE FORCE SHEPARD!!!!! Make the battlefield your playground.
Sentinel: USE THE FORCE! and tech powers.
Engineer: Take them all out, Bill Gates style.
Do these things and you will most certainly own this game. :)

I went with Infiltrator in the first game. Playing through ME2 as a Vanguard.
I like the fact that Vanguards are built for close-quarters, but still have a few biotic powers to play around with.
Next time i'll try full-blown biotics and go with Adept.

Just play both at some time. To get the best out of ME2 you have to play it once with most of the classes, but not all of them.

I think the deadpixle is a fucking idiot meat-head who only likes to shoot shit on video games and doesn't care at all for a decent story, hence why he likes Halo so fucking much. I'm actually surprised he even picked this game up to play it, but you can clearly hear his disdain for anything other than killing with ME2.

later in the game you get to pick a weapon specialization. it is during the first collector ship mission and you can pick a claymore shotgun, a sniper thing or an assault rifle.

@djdilstar I chose Vanguard because I had the ability to learn weapondry as well as biotics (Including Warp ammo, charge, slam, barrier etc) you can choose w/e you want. But its you choice overall. Btw, I chose Tali the first time.....*SPOILER* Soooo dissapointed you didn't get to see her face

I hate the soldier, at least in mass effect 1. Went up and beat Feros, got tired of it and quit. Came back a year later, retried as a vanguard and i love mass effect now. Glad to see my class is a whole lot awesomer now. Can't wait to see CookyNinja Shephard in ME2 soon, after i beat ME1

Sentinel IS the best class in the game. I'm not being a fanboy or defending the class, it just is. If you play on Insanity, Sentinel is the best and most flexible with every situation. In my opinion, this is a list of what I think are the best classes when played on INSANITY.
1) Sentinel
2) Adept / Engineer (too close to call)
3) Infiltrator
4) Soldier
5) Vanguard

vanguard is the best class i finished the game with infiltrator and it was easy on normal and it was awesome but now that ive finished the main story there is absolutely nothing to do thats why im returning it but i give it a 9/10

Soldier <3 i like the Incendiary ammo, the Revenant LMG and the Cain, Took down the last boss by first spraying him with disruptor ammo in the face a bit then 1 shot with the cain and BAM, down "it" goes :D

solider class is in my opinion the best. best weapons, you can slow down time to like 30% speed so everyone is just standing still and you do extra damage when you do it. also you can train and get a biotic power like slam or something like that. also every type of ammo, and skills like commando are amazing. I've tried other class's but they just aren't as effective. and biotics are down played in this game so they kind of suck, and that teleport thing is suicide on harder settings

if you play on a harder setting dont use vanguard. the teleport is suicide if you jump into a group of 3 or more. they just gun you down, stick with soldier

yeah any class can get any gun later on in the game in the Collector ship. The bad ass AR, the GETH widow sniper, or the Korgan model shotgun. As a Sol class I did 3 play through and got all 3 of the beast guns.

i have all the upgrades for my machine pistols, i've only found 1 other machine pistol, 1 heavy pistol excluding the one first given, 1 assualt rifle, 1 shotgun and the krogan shotung and the widow sniper rifle in teh collector ship. i'm on my first run through, hopefully there is more guns!!!!!!!!!

unless you talk to your assistant a lot then you have dinner in your room and she notices them an agrees to feed them for you. worst part of the game when she is taken. because then i dont have anyone to feed my fish
