@ThisHasBeenAlex Actually it's not so much upsetting, as it is delusional and actually extremely deceiving. The amount of cynicism you must have tells me that, no matter how many reasons your given to believe in God, it still won't be enough.
@Woreyel But if there's one thing I could say to you it is this: I know that believing in god gives you meaning and largely contributes to you being a good person, the problem is components of the traditional moral code are outdated and today cause more harm than good (just think of gay rights)... We as human beings should love each other by nature and it's possible to do that without excluding and hating non-members, as Christianity professes. In any case I wish you a long and happy life.
@ThisHasBeenAlex atheist, evolutionist, naturalist, whatever; cannot possibly be done consistently. When I hear about consistent atheists, they are rather dangerous people to be hanging around. You can believe whatever you want, God has given us free will to do so. Indeed I was an atheist once, as a young boy, I had absolutely no reason to believe that He existed. Now ultimate apologetics that there is a God, but are only effective to those who are willingly to be intellectually honest.
@ThisHasBeenAlex *sigh* :( so if Human kind is nothing but a chemical accident that are a product of a cosmic burp 14.6 billion years ago. There is no purpose to life except arbitrary self-given meaning, and to pass on your genes, so that the human race can evolve and have some more fun, and when people die you get recycled into a worm food.
I'm not going to try to persuade you of anything, because i know that that will be a complete waste of my time. I can tell you however, that living as an
This is great. The one thing I would have put in is when Jesus hung on the cross he bore the wrath of God in our place. The whip, and nail are bad but that isn't the reason we can be forgiven. It is because he felt the WRATH of God in our place. And those who arn't his children will go to hell and feel Gods wrath just as Jesus did on the cross in the place of his elect.
@Woreyel I know, its called evolution. There is indeed nothing that is interested in making us 'inteligent'. It is chance, people a born with different capabilities. This doesnt mean there is no purpose and the only thing that you can do is kill yourself. It means you have to define your own purpose in life instead of making the leaf of faith to which you become subject. And that is freedom.
@pgr83pgr83 You admitted it yourself. If there's nothing that is interested in making us intelligent (which is what your saying) then our intelligence is arbitrary, and ultimately meaningless, because we don't know whether what our brain is telling us about reality can be trusted. I could say that my purpose in life is to kill people! Isn't that a little unreasonable? If we, have to invent meaning to our lives, then that's just another chemical reaction, which serves no purpose.
God is the illusion you hold as the ultimate truth for coping with your absurd existence to which you cannot attribute any true meaning. Man requires a purpose in life but there is none. God fills in that void. Ignorance is bliss.
@pgr83pgr83 So the humans race is nothing but a cosmic chemical accident then. You should kill yourself, because you are a polluter of the environment... seems pretty ghastly don't you think?? Because If naturalism is true that means your brain formed by random processes which was not at all interested in making you intelligent, all it cared about was making sure you produce babies. So that means, you were formed by a naturalistic process that was not at all intelligently designed.
@Woreyel "So the humans race is nothing but a cosmic chemical accident then. You should kill yourself, because you are a polluter of the environment" I'm not sure I follow how these two connect, care to explain? I'd argue the contrary, that if a god or gods exist than life is inherently meaningless because the events of your life have already been determined by a devine plan.
@l3ete1geuse MAN created sin. God created man with FREE WILL. That's why you can turn from God. That's why you can sin. Jesus said a kingdom can't be against it's self, can't be divided. Otherwise it would fall. Why and how could God create something, then create something else so that it would destroy His FIRST creation? He would cancel Himself out.
@Obelisong If god created us so we could sin then he created sin. What is the point, if any, of god making us so we could misbehave and then punishing us most grievously? There is none, because it was a fairy tale made to by humans to cope with the idea of death.
@l3ete1geuse One possible answer is that the Good God did not create sin.
I figure that Earth as we know it could be seen as a realm between Heaven & Hell, where Good & Evil forces both have power. I imagine that the forms of consciousness which delineate an order of good in this world may collectively be the influence of what you could call a loving Good God. The opposing order of darkness could then come from a separate hateful Evil God. They may engage in war over this creation.
@theslothmonkey and yet you forget that it says in your bible that god created everything. How am i not supposed to understand that to mean EVERYTHING?
@l3ete1geuse Another possibility is that we are like children learning through experience why we should not choose to desire sinful creation, lest we endure suffering as a result.
@Driscotus As a matter of fact he did, and God poured his wrath onto his own son. You can go and reject that if you want to. But the only reason God DID do that, was so that you could have a relationship with Him. You should be thanking God that He has provided a way back to Him, because he didn't have to provide ANY way.
@Woreyel Don't you find it odd that his "gift" of eternal salvation is almost inaccessible in places like Tibet or east Africa because they simply don't have access to the materials necessary for christian worship? How could a just god make it easy for one person to be saved, simply by having them born in a christian family, while making it nearly impossible for people born into Muslim families to be saved, because they will be executed for leaving their religion?
@Driscotus No I didn't say that at all! Countless Christians friends of mine were born into non-christian and atheistic families, In fact there are parts of Africa that are MORE Christian than many parts of Australia which is where I come from. You DO NOT need a bible to be save my friend. You do not need to even hear the name, Jesus either. How it is that those people who don't will be save. I-do-not-know how. What I DO know is that God is just, fair and good, I hope that clear some things up.
@Woreyel That's an reasonably moderate point of view, the problem I find with this video is that it asserts that even good people deserve an eternity of torment, and can be exempt from this infinite punishment simply by accepting a "gift" that many people might live and die having not known about. My question to you is, if you agree with this video, why is an ultimatum such as "Jesus is the ONLY way to get into heaven" necessary if you can be saved otherwise?
@Driscotus You are falling into the trap that millions of other people have done before, by calling yourself "good". Good by who's standard of goodness though? In the eyes of God no one is God enough to inherit the kingdom of heaven, and that is why we ALL need Jesus, because he never sinned. Everyone is saved only through Jesus, but not by ONLY reading the bible. How does that work? I do not know, but I know it must other wise, God wouldn't be a fair judge.
@Woreyel So you've acknowledged that salvation by something with limited availability is unjust, but believing that God will somehow save them without it is a fallacious presupposition. Why would God provide eternal torture as a punishment if saving you from it is part of his divine plan? "I do not know, but it must be" is too weak to justify an illogical conception of god. Any number of illogical gods could be justified by being "too complex for human understanding".
@Driscotus God does things, is "too weak". That seems to me a significant inconsistent double standard. There are many things in science that we don't know about.. how things work, but they do, and we just accept them, and I know you would have no problem with that would you. It is the same as me saying, "I don't know how God could perform such miracles", but he does, because He is God and for the most part, is beyond all of our comprehension. You're now beginning to sound annoyingly skeptical.
@Driscotus What are you talking about? Not only have you changed what I said but assumed something to which you have very limited knowledge about. The bible teaches us, salvation is granted to us through Jesus Christ alone. It is open to all but effective to only those who accept it. YOU have more than enough reason to accept Jesus Christ, Just because there is something you don't understand about God, doesn't mean that He is illogical or unjust. And you saying that just because I don't know how
@Woreyel Does the bible say that God will offer Jesus to everyone, everywhere, somehow? That's a justification you had to have made yourself, and dissents from popular Christianity. The well accepted reality, supported by evidence, is that not everyone is going to be given the option of accepting Christ. People die everyday under the faith of Buddhism or Hinduism and there is absolutely no evidence that they were given any compulsion to accept Jesus.
@Driscotus yes John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." that reads crystal clear that Gods gift of eternal life is open to everyone. I don't care, about "evidence" because all evidence needs to be interpreted by a worldview.
Everyone is free to believe whatever they like. But what ever the belief. It should not be arbitrary, you should be worrying about yourself, and what you believe.
@Woreyel First of all, "him" is not capitalized, suggesting that a belief in Jesus, not just God, is required. This doesn't guarantee salvation to anyone who wants it because not everyone has heard about Jesus. Also your dismissal of evidence of evidence is not only dumbfounding but hypocritical. You use a bible passage as "evidence" but your interpretation is far from literal, and you claim that its "crystal clear".
@Driscotus Oh my goodness! Now you're being completely intellectually dishonest with yourself and looking for reasons not to believe! Fine. You don't have to. If your going to be so cynical, then nothing I can say will persuade you of the truth. And for that matter, I doubt that anything than anyone else says will persuade you either. But I hope I'm wrong about that. I fail to see that giving you anymore biblical evidence will persuade you, because it's not that you need more reasons to believe.
@Woreyel Academic dishonesty on my part is not the problem. You interpreted a bible passage very poorly and then claimed it was the crystal clear inerrant word of god.
Hey Ray have you ever taken communion? What do you call someone who eats human flesh? and what do you call someone who drinks blood? By your own admission you are a cannibal and a vampire.
"I cannot conceive of a God who rewards and punishes his creatures, or has a will of the type of which we are conscience in ourselves. An individual who should survive his physical death is also beyond my comprehension, nor do I wish it otherwise; such notions are for the fears or absurd egoism of feeble souls." -Albert Einstein-
To those with open ears, god loves us and he is the only perfect being and he can't be corrupted cuz he won't be holy, so for me to go to hell is just which I'm a man and willing to accept, BUT thankfully the lord loves us so much that I may be granted into heaven through his only BEGOTTEN son jesus. keep the word alive. Amen
read what I wrote to woreyel. And one more thing:
I NEVER ASKED GOD TO LIVE. HE MADE THIS CHOICE FOR ME. I never even had a chance to decline his offer, and if I would have killed myself, according to the bible, I would be in hell. So can it be FAIR to punish me for living a life that was forced upon me the way I want to live it? Is it fair to punish me for being imperfect even though I was created imperfect? Is this a just and righteous god?
@DieNeuePhilosophie Tough. I never asked to be born either.. no one was. You're just looking for reasons to hate God, because you don't want to live the way he wants you to. Fine, you don't have to if you don't want. It's your own choice, buddy.
I don t hate god, because I cannot hate something that does not exist. Did god tell you even ONCE what he wants? If he s real? If he loves you? If there is such thing as hell? No. You have an old book wich was mistranslated several times.
it should show that guy missing a hand, his tongue, labelled a eunich, and branded on his forehead "blasphemer"...to show how justice would work...yet, imagine this:
@movania89 the Gospel of Barnabas was written in the 14 Century! There is no question that it is a medieval forgery ... It contains anachronisms which can date only from the Middle Ages and not before, and shows a garbled comprehension of Islamic doctrines, calling the Prophet the "Messiah", which Islam does not claim for him. Besides it farcical notion of sacred history, stylistically it is a mediocre parody of the Gospels, as the writings of Baha Allah are of the Koran.
lol i m imagining me, living my awesome atheist life, and beside me, a guy living his christian life looking at me in envy thinking "your gonna buuuuuuurn" an then both of us get run over by some truck and suddenly we stand in some kind of court room and before us... allah. I would look at the christian and ... rofl
@DieNeuePhilosophie Yes, because EVERY CHRISTIAN looks at an atheist "enviously" and thinking they're gonna burn in the ashes of hell... yes because we have NOTHING ELSE to do... seriously, where do people get this ignorant perceptions of Christians from? It's really childish...
honestly? from christians. At least here on youtube. Although I should have said "creationists" to make my point a little clearer, but still, there are billions of believers that try to make people believe by threatening them.
@DieNeuePhilosophie I'm sorry but as a CREATIONIST and a CHRISTIAN, I have to tell you that not all of us evangelize this way and on behalf of those who HAVE, I apologize. Christ doesn't want us threatening people with hell. Hell is the destination for ALL before they meet Christ. After accepting Jesus, our fate is different. But the message isn't BASED on the destination. It's BASED on what Jesus did for us. The message isn't HATE, it's LOVE.
thx for the apology but I need to ask you this: am i going to hell? you will say yes. I will ask you what i can do about it . you will say repent. I will ask : or what? you: you ll burn in hell. how is this not a threat? I m afraid that your position forces you to threaten, no matter if you want to or not.
@DieNeuePhilosophie Well, truth be told, if you don't have Jesus as your Lawyer, chances are that may unfortunately be your final destination. And yes, what you can do about it is hire Christ as your Lawyer (figuratively, of course). His SACRIFICE was the means of freeing us from the debt we couldn't pay. We're sinners by nature. And I'm not really threatening you. See, I'm not the one sending you to hell. Neither is God. God isn't trying to SEND you to hell.
@DieNeuePhilosophie See, as sinners, hell would be the natural place to end up since we violated God's just laws. BUT, since Jesus paved the way so that those who believe and trust in Him don't end up there, the debt has been paid in full. All we have to do is let Him in our hearts. It's not really a big catch. He made it simple for us. Jews before Christ had to sacrifice lambs to propitiate sins. But when God the Son came, He made Himself the Lamb of sacrifice.
@DieNeuePhilosophie To threaten is to tell someone YOU'RE gonna do something to them. I can't send you to hell, I have no power or authority to do so. And God isn't trying to send you to hell. As sinners, that's the natural destination, like I said. But if you choose to, while you're alive, to accept Jesus Christ's crucifixion as the payment for your sin, you don't have to end up there anymore... It's a beautiful thing... something we didn't deserve.
Hm, allright. Before I give you an answer I need to ask you 2 questions:
1. I consider myself a good person, as do many other atheists. When you, me and those other good persons are dead, you are in heaven, we are in hell, could you be happy up there knowing that billions of good people who came to the wrong conclusion are burning one level below?
2. Can you give me a single reason -except the need for revenge- why god would send me to hell?
@DieNeuePhilosophie 1st Question: Well, if you analyze the message of this video, that question has already been answered. You could be the NICEST and most philanthropic person on earth but it all comes down to Christ. He loves EVERY, regardless of creed (that may come as a shock to you, but it's true)
I don t think that you answered my question. Let s make this real short: could you be happy in heaven while knowing that people below you are being tortured?
@DieNeuePhilosophie God has ALWAYS been almighty. And Woreyel answered your question before I got the chance.. I was at church :)
God created a perfect world... then sin came in and jacked it up from there. God's gonna end Satan's reign of sin and terror in this world, that's already been prophesied.
@DieNeuePhilosophie 2nd question: God isn't VENGEFUL. Satan is. Because Satan (Lucifer) was jealous of God's glory, He wanted to be God Himself. God LOVES but shares His glory with NO ONE. Sin and Satan have the same home: Hell. God loves us all despite our imperfection and it is BECAUSE of our imperfection that Jesus came to pay the price for our sin.
@DieNeuePhilosophie God IS going to end satan's existence, just not when YOU want him to. God's not this dude playing games with you buddy; he doesn't exist for us, WE exist for him.
There is this huge magical invisible allknowing space daddy who has existed since the beginning of time and then suddenly and for no reason decided to create a universe and fill it with billions of stars for no reason and made sure that we will be the result of evolution for no reason so that we can worship him because he has this major lack of self confidence. If we don t he will torture us forever but he loves us.
But because he did not love us enough to simply forgive us for being not perfect although he created us and always knew that we wouldn t be perfect, he sent him self as his own son on earth and contradicted everything he said in the old testament. Then he got himself nailed at a cross as sarifice to take our sins away, wich weren t even there if he hadn t created them, but this wasn t a real sacrifice because he is immortal.
@DieNeuePhilosophie Alright..so God should just forgive hitler for what he did? Because that is the reality for what you are saying. Jesus Christ SUFFERED. Jesus Christ DIED. don't tell me that that wasn't a sacrifice. You think he would just forgive us gratuitously, even if we murder a dozen people. NO!! God is just.. So God cannot and will not allow sinners into heaven. If you think there is no such thing sin, then go rape young girls. Go cheat on uni exams, and go murder people you don't like
WUT? Do you KNOW for SURE that hitler is not in heaven right now? I mean he accepted jesus as his savior so jesus "died" (at least for 3 days) for Hitler s sins, too.
It might very well be that Hitler is in heaven. And yes, god should forgive us gratuitously because he made WITHOUT ASKING FOR PERMISSION. You think that those kids starving in afrika right now want that? God put us here, so he can t blame us for living.
@DieNeuePhilosophie I'm telling you that if you don't want to believe in God, stop being such a cynical heathen. I have the bible as my ultimate authority, you have science, which without theism is nothing but mans arbitrary opinion. Go educate yourself, to get you out of your cynical ways.
@DieNeuePhilosophie Okay you Got hating idolater.... How do you know for sure that your brain is can be trusted to tell you what is real and what's not without using your brian. If atheism is true, then nothing make sense and it is impossible to prove anything. You even create a double standard for yourself, In saying, God doesn't exist, but what if hitler IS in heaven. Your playing games with God buddy, nothing else. I'm not telling you to believe in God,
Look I don t believe in god, I was just assuming that it was so FOR THE SAKE OF ARGUMENT.
Let me ask you this question (please think about your answer):
Let s assume that ALL the bibles in the whole world would dissapear, all the digital versions, too. The vatican would dissappear just like your memories concerning christianity. What do you think would change? Would you still be a good person? If not, why not?
@DieNeuePhilosophie Your making the assumption that I was good to begin with.. No one is "good' in the eyes of God. For we are all sinners who fall short of the glory of Go. If All the bibles were to disappear which they won't (it is ridiculous to think they would) then we would still believe in A God, because human beings by nature are incredibly religious.
1. I think that I can trust my brain because it is part of my body and my body is part of reality. It follows the same rules and laws just like everything else on this planet. I am a bunch of atoms, just like a stone, a fish or water. I can trust my brain because the only way we can understand reality is by using it.
2. You are making my point for me. YES we ARE incredibly religious. Why? Because of the way our brain is constructed.
@DieNeuePhilosophie Yet because or your inconsistent worldview, you will to deny that we are "chemical accidents" even though it does show the truth about what humans are in an atheistic worldview. (some would still admit it) So the bottom line is; If atheism is true then nothing makes sense because everything is atoms and chemicals. If CHRISTIANITY is true, then we CAN think rationally because there was an intelligent being (Jesus) who CREATED us, and gave us a choice to love him or not.
@DieNeuePhilosophie chemicals then why on earth do you put some must trust into it. In fact the part that makes "you" is just another chemical reaction, which was constituted as a chemical accident. If naturalism is true that means your brain formed by random processes which was not at all interested in making you intelligent, all it cared about was making sure you produce babies. So that means, because you were formed by a naturalistic process that was not at all intelligently designed,
Oh believe me, the natural process was just as interested in making me smart. Survival of the fittest... we humans aren t all that strong, so the smart ones survive.
There is no such thing as "just chemicals". My brain is a machine, just like a computer. I can understand how a computer works, just how I can understand how my brain works. Thats why I trust it. Because I understand it.
@DieNeuePhilosophie Now you are being COMPLETELY intellectually dishonest with yourself, frankly if i were another user on here, I would see your comment and say that you were dumb. All that you have drivelled on about is your own arbitrary assertions, and unargued philosophical bias and I'm sure there are other atheists that will disagree with you. I cannot reason with an irrational fool like you, who only wants to believe what sounds nice to them. Inconsistency, & arbitrariness is irrational.
you are just outmatched, my poor friend. You are just making up excuses to end a conversation that showed you how dark it really is in your so called brain. You see yourself as a sheep, as a slave and god is your master, a beeing wich does not even exist. You are just trying to shift any kind of responsibility you have as a human on an illusion, because it is too much for you. You are not more human than a dog.
@DieNeuePhilosophie And you are presupposing that your body is part of reality. That's not another atheist said to me the other day. He said "I can only assume that as there is no evidence to suggest other wise. For all I now I could be a brain in a jar connected to a computer." Funnily enough, he shared the same atheistic worldview as you, yet, is more intellectually honest than you. You did admit however that "I am a bunch of atoms, just like a stone, a fish or water" so if your brain is just
@l3ete1geuse If you believe the ONLY way to know something is by science, then you are lying to yourself. For there is no way to scientifically prove the statement "the only way to know something is by scientific proof" In fact the only reason that you can DO science is because, there is creator God who has put uniformity into nature so which allows the consistent repeatability of an experiment. If you believe you can do science without God, that's atheism, an extremely irrational worldview.
@Woreyel Typical straw man argument, but i'll play along. If god created science then why can't science prove god? It should, if he created it. And you still didn't answer my first question about why i should believe your religion over others. So who's fooling themselves?
@l3ete1geuse The reason science can't prove God is because science is exclusive to the natural realm. God is in the supernatural realm, His character is not something that you can detected empirically. Why should you believe in Atheism, the religion which presupposes knowledge and preconditions that it cannot account for. Christianity is the only worldview which can rationally provide basis for all preconditions of intelligibility. If you don't accept that, that's not my problem,
@Woreyel Indeed, Christianity is the only rational worldview...if that's true, then the dark ages should have been the most enlightened period in human history. Also, atheism is a religion like abstinence is a sexual position.
@Woreyel So science and reason are wrong and dogma is right? if you say that god gave us the knowledge to do everything, you can keep yourself in the god delusion forever with no escape. dogma
@RespondToTWOTM I never said God gave us knowledge to do everything. He gave us limited knowledge and power. You can stay conformable in your atheistic worldview if you like. Rejecting creation... putting your fingers in your ears as soon as someone points out your inconsistencies. You can live hatefully and cynically in your evolutionary worldview for as long as you like, but your worldly idolisation will not last forever. If you want to hate God forever, DO IT, it's your choice.
@Woreyel Yes, you do put your fingers in your ears whenever you hear something remotely intelligent, this is very obvious to me. Evolution is now a hateful worldview? In what way? How is it at all related to hate, ore even love for that matter? And when did I say, or any atheist really, that I hate god? I don't even think he exists. That's like hating Santa Claus for me! How have you been so convinced that your religion is correct that you lack thinking skills and stay willfully ignorant?
@RespondToTWOTM I was an atheist at a younger age. I had no reason to believe in God at that time. You don't need to say you hate God, to hate God. I am convinced that I cannot hold an intellectually civil argument with you, as you are just a cynical atheist. The REASON that I became a theist was when I thought.... "This place can't have just come from a random cosmic accident, there must have been a creator!"
I don't care what you believe, but you're far too satirical to accept my answers.
@Woreyel In what ways am I cynical? What harm have I caused anybody? Please use evidence, not assumptions or accusations which you have no idea if are true or not. And if you see that the universe has a creator, then fine, you have the right to think that. I do not think that. I see a different point of view. But you have taken it way too far, like Kirk Cameron, and denied all common sense in this belief. And yes I am satirical. Your lack of common sense deserves satire.
@Woreyel I'm not saying I support naturalism, but your three-post argument doesn't seem sound. Maybe it's valid for the guy you're arguing with, but generally, once you strip down to Cartesian radical skepticism, it's completely rational to question the existence of the body, chemicals, atoms, etc etc. That doesn't even matter. I know I exist and have the capacity of rational thought, and unfortunately, that only allows for all a priori truths, such as the workings of logic and mathematics.
@wahay636 [Part 2] Why is it that a god is the only thing that could give us rational thought? Why could it not be the result of chemical interactions? Or anything else? How have you gone from "we don't know if atoms etc exist" to "rational thought must have been given to us by God"? In the end, what's wrong with "we are all just atoms and chemicals, the reactions between which give us rational thought, coincidentally, and the resulting intelligence allows us to mate at a faster rate,
@wahay636 evolutionary worldview, cannot account for what is immaterial. Now the reason why the CHRISTIAN God is most rational, because it is the Christian God, who made in his own image, This God is only God powerful enough to create AND sustain the universe which he made, and this is all revealed to us in the The bible. Ultimately, you must decide, either we are the product of a random cosmic burp, with no purpose. OR we are all created WITH a purpose in mind, IN the image of our creator God.
@wahay636 of detail. I'll say it again. If naturalism is true that means your brain formed by random processes which was not at all interested in making you intelligent, all it cared about was making sure you produce babies. Chemicals do what chemicals do. And what makes a person - a person, is just another kind of chemical. And all chemicals do is obey the laws of nature. For someone to admit there is the existence of a "soul" then they must reject the evolutionary worldview! Because the
@wahay636 Okay, reading your comment post, I think you're genuinely seeking these questions, unlike many other cynical atheists on here. you said that "That doesn't even matter. I know I exist and have the capacity of rational thought" um.. how do you KNOW that you exist? There was an atheist once that responded to me saying "I don't know for sure that my body or brain are real, for all I know, my brain could be hooked up to a computer, and this reality, is all just virtual with an insane amount
@Woreyel [Part 3] allowing humans to become the dominant species"? Why can't we work on questions we don't know the answer to, rather than compose an all-encompassing answer that cannot either be proved or disproved?
@Woreyel God Bless you! There's no need for you to waste your time with these people, let them be, you did your part already and God knows it! :) Keep your strong faith!
2.2 We are not religious because of god, or anithing supernatural, but because our brain is predisposed to accept god as an answer. It gives us comfort, diminishes our fear, gives us a sense of purpose, diminishes our own responsibility, makes us think less.
Belief is nothing but the lack of strengh and willpower to resist. You believe because its easy. You are not more advanced than a child who does not wantto quit his home, because daddy wont be there to solve his problems.
Well if I went to court without a lawyer and god was the judge and the devil the plaintiff under my own authority I would go to hell but since I believe in jesus and what he did for me he's my uncorrupt lawyer that gave me a free pass to go to heaven. Yay keep the word alive.
Well, God is Holy, people who rebel against that can not go to heaven. IE. A little lie is still a lie. Pretty simple concept. If heaven is going to be a perfect place then no (as in zero) corruption can be there. Choose wisely, God is God and he makes the rules. It looks to me that commenting here is not of much real value....perhaps it would be better to have none and let the video speak for itself...Or simply read the bible to see if it is true....
@MetaphorInVain He doesn't send anyone to hell , they themself choose not to accept the free gift of salvation ,God so loves the world He gave, some have it wrong they say you have to keep the law to be just before God when they themselfs cant keep them no man is justified before God by doing or keeping the ten commandments, God made a way through Jesus by comming to Jesus and all sin is forgiven , then he himself will change you when you go to His word , and to Him, its easy!!!!

@MetaphorInVain I'm not going to argue much, but for an atheist, life is the end. If you were to murder, chances are you would either get a life sentence or in some states death penalty. Other words you would be punished to the end, but because their is no end for Christians or God, the sentence lasts for the "non-existent end" or eternity. The answer to the question doesn't do much persuading, but neither does this video, or at least I hope not...
@MetaphorInVain That is like saying, it is unjust for a court judge to sentence a man to prison, for 5 years when it only took them perhaps a few seconds to murder someone. And yet God is at an infinite higher authority than any court judge. But his system is the same, you DO the punishment for much longer than it takes you to do the crime. Whats more, if live till 80, you will have sinned hundreds of thousands of times, and you will have to give an account for every single sin on judgment day.
@Woreyel You are still missing the point. You are defending a position where one is sentenced for ETERNITY, which means the severity of the crimes does not matter. If one murders one person, or a thousand persons, that person is still sentenced for eternity. Which means the "justice" does not take into account the severity of crimes, and can therefore not be called just.
@MetaphorInVain So fairness is relative then is it? I could say a Judges decision is unjust and he's being unfair, for what any reason. You're saying God's not fair, God doesn't sentence anyone to hell, it is peoples choice to spend an eternity there, as they want nothing to do with God. The reason Hell is eternal, is because God is of infinite authority. In fact one doesn't have to murder end up in hell, simply rejecting Christ will lead you to hell because we are all sinners.
@30mmPwnage Why's that, for warning people, that they have an eternity at the end of their life that they have to choose.. that's not so much disgusting, that's warning someone about their eternal hell, or eternal paradise, make of it what you will though!
@30mmPwnage So is a court judge, unjust for punishing a person who took possibly just a few second to murder someone. And yet the judge sentences him to 5 years in prison. By YOUR standard of justness, THAT would be "disgusting" But no. God is the supreme authority of all creation and existence, therefore his judgements are at you highest level. You do not go to heaven, for keeping the Ten commandment, no ones is, you go to heaven for accepting Jesus Christ.
@Woreyel The judge is not unjust for ruling a finite punishment for a finite crime, however your god lacks basic compassion as he fails to reveal himself to every human, and then for no fault of their own, punishes them eternally because they did not see him. So please, see that if this being existed he is not worthy of worship, as you are more moral than him and so am I.
@30mmPwnage Thus, God as the Creator has the right to define absolute standards of behaviour. Stop spewing your opinionated prejudice of God, it will get you absolutely no where.
@Woreyel Your sick deity has no morality in declaring I belong to him. You can go along and follow this corrupt criminal if he really exists, but at least I will be satisfied that I am the one truly pursuing cosmic justice if at least by not worshipping your bankrupt concept of a deity.
@30mmPwnage That kind of response is exactly why you don't believe in God. You're free to choose which ever eternity you want. You're free to live out your life as an atheist. One of the reasons I am not an atheist is that i see extremely few people who can live as one, and being consistent with their worldview. Sadly, you have let your prejudgments about God, get the better of you. And that's something only you can deal with.
@30mmPwnage Even though you may deny it, the morality and rules that most humans adhere to have their basis in the Bible, specifically in the history of Genesis. The Bible claims to be the revealed Word of God and that the biblical God is the ultimate authority and foundation for knowledge. The Bible tells us that God is the Creator of all things and, therefore, all things belong to Him.
@30mmPwnage When I was young, I was an atheist, because I had absolutely no reason to believe in God either. I did not see or noticed Gods existence anywhere. But that because I did not seek out, God. Miraculously, the more I did, the more God revealed himself to me, as I sought. Gods NOT automatically going to restrain you, when he reveals himself to you. If you do not want to see God, then you will blind yourself to his revelations. God created the moral code for man.
@30mmPwnage You NEED to lose your prejudice opinions, & judgmental bias, before you can gain any amount of biblical understanding about God. Before you do that, I can not reason with you. I can reason with a person who is willingly open, & curious, but YOU show a harsh and incriminating prejudice against a God that you do not know at all. The bible says that in Romans 1:18, that God h

And that is freedom.
pgr83pgr83 4 days ago
@pgr83pgr83 You admitted it yourself. If there's nothing that is interested in making us intelligent (which is what your saying) then our intelligence is arbitrary, and ultimately meaningless, because we don't know whether what our brain is telling us about reality can be trusted. I could say that my purpose in life is to kill people! Isn't that a little unreasonable? If we, have to invent meaning to our lives, then that's just another chemical reaction, which serves no purpose.
Woreyel 4 days ago
God is the illusion you hold as the ultimate truth for coping with your absurd existence to which you cannot attribute any true meaning. Man requires a purpose in life but there is none. God fills in that void. Ignorance is bliss.
pgr83pgr83 6 days ago

For god so loved the world that he MURDERED his own son to cover sin which GOD created!
l3ete1geuse 1 week ago
@l3ete1geuse MAN created sin. God created man with FREE WILL. That's why you can turn from God. That's why you can sin. Jesus said a kingdom can't be against it's self, can't be divided. Otherwise it would fall. Why and how could God create something, then create something else so that it would destroy His FIRST creation? He would cancel Himself out.
Obelisong 6 days ago
@Obelisong If god created us so we could sin then he created sin. What is the point, if any, of god making us so we could misbehave and then punishing us most grievously? There is none, because it was a fairy tale made to by humans to cope with the idea of death.
l3ete1geuse 6 days ago
@l3ete1geuse One possible answer is that the Good God did not create sin.
I figure that Earth as we know it could be seen as a realm between Heaven & Hell, where Good & Evil forces both have power. I imagine that the forms of consciousness which delineate an order of good in this world may collectively be the influence of what you could call a loving Good God. The opposing order of darkness could then come from a separate hateful Evil God. They may engage in war over this creation.

Driscotus 1 week ago
@Driscotus No I didn't say that at all! Countless Christians friends of mine were born into non-christian and atheistic families, In fact there are parts of Africa that are MORE Christian than many parts of Australia which is where I come from. You DO NOT need a bible to be save my friend. You do not need to even hear the name, Jesus either. How it is that those people who don't will be save. I-do-not-know how. What I DO know is that God is just, fair and good, I hope that clear some things up.
Woreyel 1 week ago
@Woreyel That's an reasonably moderate point of view, the problem I find with this video is that it asserts that even good people deserve an eternity of torment, and can be exempt from this infinite punishment simply by accepting a "gift" that many people might live and die having not known about. My question to you is, if you agree with this video, why is an ultimatum such as "Jesus is the ONLY way to get into heaven" necessary if you can be saved otherwise?
Driscotus 1 week ago
@Driscotus You are falling into the trap that millions of other people have done before, by calling yourself "good". Good by who's standard of goodness though? In the eyes of God no one is God enough to inherit the kingdom of heaven, and that is why we ALL need Jesus, because he never sinned. Everyone is saved only through Jesus, but not by ONLY reading the bible. How does that work? I do not know, but I know it must other wise, God wouldn't be a fair judge.
Woreyel 1 week ago
@Woreyel So you've acknowledged that salvation by something with limited availability is unjust, but believing that God will somehow save them without it is a fallacious presupposition. Why would God provide eternal torture as a punishment if saving you from it is part of his divine plan? "I do not know, but it must be" is too weak to justify an illogical conception of god. Any number of illogical gods could be justified by being "too complex for human understanding".
Driscotus 1 week ago
@Driscotus God does things, is "too weak". That seems to me a significant inconsistent double standard. There are many things in science that we don't know about.. how things work, but they do, and we just accept them, and I know you would have no problem with that would you. It is the same as me saying, "I don't know how God could perform such miracles", but he does, because He is God and for the most part, is beyond all of our comprehension. You're now beginning to sound annoyingly skeptical.
Woreyel 1 week ago
@Driscotus What are you talking about? Not only have you changed what I said but assumed something to which you have very limited knowledge about. The bible teaches us, salvation is granted to us through Jesus Christ alone. It is open to all but effective to only those who accept it. YOU have more than enough reason to accept Jesus Christ, Just because there is something you don't understand about God, doesn't mean that He is illogical or unjust. And you saying that just because I don't know how
Woreyel 1 week ago
@Woreyel Does the bible say that God will offer Jesus to everyone, everywhere, somehow? That's a justification you had to have made yourself, and dissents from popular Christianity. The well accepted reality, supported by evidence, is that not everyone is going to be given the option of accepting Christ. People die everyday under the faith of Buddhism or Hinduism and there is absolutely no evidence that they were given any compulsion to accept Jesus.
Driscotus 1 week ago
@Driscotus yes John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." that reads crystal clear that Gods gift of eternal life is open to everyone. I don't care, about "evidence" because all evidence needs to be interpreted by a worldview.
Everyone is free to believe whatever they like. But what ever the belief. It should not be arbitrary, you should be worrying about yourself, and what you believe.
Woreyel 1 week ago
@Woreyel First of all, "him" is not capitalized, suggesting that a belief in Jesus, not just God, is required. This doesn't guarantee salvation to anyone who wants it because not everyone has heard about Jesus. Also your dismissal of evidence of evidence is not only dumbfounding but hypocritical. You use a bible passage as "evidence" but your interpretation is far from literal, and you claim that its "crystal clear".
Driscotus 1 week ago
@Driscotus Oh my goodness! Now you're being completely intellectually dishonest with yourself and looking for reasons not to believe! Fine. You don't have to. If your going to be so cynical, then nothing I can say will persuade you of the truth. And for that matter, I doubt that anything than anyone else says will persuade you either. But I hope I'm wrong about that. I fail to see that giving you anymore biblical evidence will persuade you, because it's not that you need more reasons to believe.
Woreyel 1 week ago
@Woreyel Academic dishonesty on my part is not the problem. You interpreted a bible passage very poorly and then claimed it was the crystal clear inerrant word of god.

DieNeuePhilosophie 2 weeks ago
@DieNeuePhilosophie Well, truth be told, if you don't have Jesus as your Lawyer, chances are that may unfortunately be your final destination. And yes, what you can do about it is hire Christ as your Lawyer (figuratively, of course). His SACRIFICE was the means of freeing us from the debt we couldn't pay. We're sinners by nature. And I'm not really threatening you. See, I'm not the one sending you to hell. Neither is God. God isn't trying to SEND you to hell.
NJDominicana246 2 weeks ago
@DieNeuePhilosophie See, as sinners, hell would be the natural place to end up since we violated God's just laws. BUT, since Jesus paved the way so that those who believe and trust in Him don't end up there, the debt has been paid in full. All we have to do is let Him in our hearts. It's not really a big catch. He made it simple for us. Jews before Christ had to sacrifice lambs to propitiate sins. But when God the Son came, He made Himself the Lamb of sacrifice.
NJDominicana246 2 weeks ago
@DieNeuePhilosophie To threaten is to tell someone YOU'RE gonna do something to them. I can't send you to hell, I have no power or authority to do so. And God isn't trying to send you to hell. As sinners, that's the natural destination, like I said. But if you choose to, while you're alive, to accept Jesus Christ's crucifixion as the payment for your sin, you don't have to end up there anymore... It's a beautiful thing... something we didn't deserve.

2. Can you give me a single reason -except the need for revenge- why god would send me to hell?

NJDominicana246 2 weeks ago
@DieNeuePhilosophie 2nd question: God isn't VENGEFUL. Satan is. Because Satan (Lucifer) was jealous of God's glory, He wanted to be God Himself. God LOVES but shares His glory with NO ONE. @Woreyel
So correct me if I am wrong:
There is this huge magical invisible allknowing space daddy who has existed since the beginning of time and then suddenly and for no reason decided to create a universe and fill it with billions of stars for no reason and made sure that we will be the result of evolution for no reason so that we can worship him because he has this major lack of self confidence. If we don t he will torture us forever but he loves us.
DieNeuePhilosophie 2 weeks ago
@Woreyel
YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THIS??? SERIOUSLY???
DieNeuePhilosophie 2 weeks ago
@DieNeuePhilosophie Alright..so God should just forgive hitler for what he did? Because that is the reality for what you are saying. Jesus Christ SUFFERED. Jesus Christ DIED. don't tell me that that wasn't a sacrifice. You think he would just forgive us gratuitously, even if we murder a dozen people. NO!! God is just.. So God cannot and will not allow sinners into heaven. If you think there is no such thing sin, then go rape young girls. Go cheat on uni exams, and go murder people you don't like
Woreyel 2 weeks ago
@Woreyel

Your playing games with God buddy, nothing else. I'm not telling you to believe in God,

@Woreyel
hahaha oh ehem sorry, that was too much.
DieNeuePhilosophie 2 weeks ago
@DieNeuePhilosophie Your making the assumption that I was good to begin with.. No one is "good' in the eyes of God. For we are all sinners who fall short of the glory of Go. If All the bibles were to disappear which they won't (it is ridiculous to think they would) then we would still believe in A God, because human beings by nature are incredibly religious.
You didn't answer my first question though.....
Woreyel 2 weeks ago
@Woreyel
Ok so:
DieNeuePhilosophie 2 weeks ago
@DieNeuePhilosophie Yet because or your inconsistent worldview, you will to deny that we are "chemical accidents" even though it does show the truth about what humans are in an atheistic worldview. (some would still admit it) So the bottom line is; If atheism is true then nothing makes sense because everything is atoms and chemicals. If CHRISTIANITY is true, then we CAN think rationally because there was an intelligent being (Jesus) who CREATED us, and gave us a choice to love him or not.
Woreyel 2 weeks ago
@DieNeuePhilosophie chemicals then why on earth do you put some must trust into it. In fact the part that makes "you" is just another chemical reaction, which was constituted as a chemical accident. If naturalism is true that means your brain formed by random processes which was not at all interested in making you intelligent, all it cared about was making sure you produce babies. So that means, because you were formed by a naturalistic process that was not at all intelligently designed,
Woreyel 2 weeks ago
@Woreyel

@l3ete1geuse Why do you believe in Naturalism?
Woreyel 1 week ago
@Woreyel you mean why do i believe in science? simple, empirical, demonstrable, evidence. something that not one single religion has.
l3ete1geuse 1 week ago
@l3ete1geuse If you believe the ONLY way to know something is by science, then you are lying to yourself. For there is no way to scientifically prove the statement "the only way to know something is by scientific proof" In fact the only reason that you can DO science is because, there is creator God who has put uniformity into nature so which allows the consistent repeatability of an experiment. If you believe you can do science without God, that's atheism, an extremely irrational worldview.
Woreyel 1 week ago
@Woreyel Typical straw man argument, but i'll play along. If god created science then why can't science prove god? It should, if he created it. And you still didn't answer my first question about why i should believe your religion over others. So who's fooling themselves?
l3ete1geuse 1 week ago
@l3ete1geuse The reason science can't prove God is because science is exclusive to the natural realm. God is in the supernatural realm, His character is not something that you can detected empirically. Why should you believe in Atheism, the religion which presupposes knowledge and preconditions that it cannot account for. Christianity is the only worldview which can rationally provide basis for all preconditions of intelligibility. If you don't accept that, that's not my problem,
Woreyel 1 week ago
@Woreyel Indeed, Christianity is the only rational worldview...if that's true, then the dark ages should have been the most enlightened period in human history. Also, atheism is a religion like abstinence is a sexual position.

@Woreyel So science and reason are wrong and dogma is right? if you say that god gave us the knowledge to do everything, you can keep yourself in the god delusion forever with no escape. dogma
RespondToTWOTM 1 week ago
@RespondToTWOTM I never said God gave us knowledge to do everything. He gave us limited knowledge and power. You can stay conformable in your atheistic worldview if you like. Rejecting creation... putting your fingers in your ears as soon as someone points out your inconsistencies. You can live hatefully and cynically in your evolutionary worldview for as long as you like, but your worldly idolisation will not last forever. If you want to hate God forever, DO IT, it's your choice.
Woreyel 1 week ago
@Woreyel Yes, you do put your fingers in your ears whenever you hear something remotely intelligent, this is very obvious to me. Evolution is now a hateful worldview? In what way? How is it at all related to hate, ore even love for that matter? And when did I say, or any atheist really, that I hate god? I don't even think he exists. That's like hating Santa Claus for me! How have you been so convinced that your religion is correct that you lack thinking skills and stay willfully ignorant?
RespondToTWOTM 1 week ago
@RespondToTWOTM I was an atheist at a younger age. I had no reason to believe in God at that time. You don't need to say you hate God, to hate God. I am convinced that I cannot hold an intellectually civil argument with you, as you are just a cynical atheist. The REASON that I became a theist was when I thought.... "This place can't have just come from a random cosmic accident, there must have been a creator!"
I don't care what you believe, but you're far too satirical to accept my answers.
Woreyel 1 week ago
@Woreyel In what ways am I cynical? What harm have I caused anybody? Please use evidence, not assumptions or accusations which you have no idea if are true or not. And if you see that the universe has a creator, then fine, you have the right to think that. I do not think that. I see a different point of view. But you have taken it way too far, like Kirk Cameron, and denied all common sense in this belief. And yes I am satirical. Your lack of common sense deserves satire.
RespondToTWOTM 1 week ago
@Woreyel I'm not saying I support naturalism, but your three-post argument doesn't seem sound. Maybe it's valid for the guy you're arguing with, but generally, once you strip down to Cartesian radical skepticism, it's completely rational to question the existence of the body, chemicals, atoms, etc etc. That doesn't even matter. I know I exist and have the capacity of rational thought, and unfortunately, that only allows for all a priori truths, such as the workings of logic and mathematics.
wahay636 1 week ago
@wahay636 [Part 2] Why is it that a god is the only thing that could give us rational thought? Why could it not be the result of chemical interactions? Or anything else? How have you gone from "we don't know if atoms etc exist" to "rational thought must have been given to us by God"? In the end, what's wrong with "we are all just atoms and chemicals, the reactions between which give us rational thought, coincidentally, and the resulting intelligence allows us to mate at a faster rate,
wahay636 1 week ago
@wahay636 evolutionary worldview, cannot account for what is immaterial. Now the reason why the CHRISTIAN God is most rational, because it is the Christian God, who made in his own image, This God is only God powerful enough to create AND sustain the universe which he made, and this is all revealed to us in the The bible. Ultimately, you must decide, either we are the product of a random cosmic burp, with no purpose. OR we are all created WITH a purpose in mind, IN the image of our creator God.
Woreyel 1 week ago
@wahay636 of detail. I'll say it again. If naturalism is true that means your brain formed by random processes which was not at all interested in making you intelligent, all it cared about was making sure you produce babies. Chemicals do what chemicals do. And what makes a person - a person, is just another kind of chemical. And all chemicals do is obey the laws of nature. For someone to admit there is the existence of a "soul" then they must reject the evolutionary worldview! Because the

ArmourCody 3 weeks ago
@ArmourCody Just because your analogy might apply, in some countries, doesnt make your god any more just.
MetaphorInVain 3 weeks ago
@MetaphorInVain That is like saying, it is unjust for a court judge to sentence a man to prison, for 5 years when it only took them perhaps a few seconds to murder someone. And yet God is at an infinite higher authority than any court judge. But his system is the same, you DO the punishment for much longer than it takes you to do the crime. Whats more, if live till 80, you will have sinned hundreds of thousands of times, and you will have to give an account for every single sin on judgment day.
Woreyel 3 weeks ago
@Woreyel You are still missing the point. You are defending a position where one is sentenced for ETERNITY, which means the severity of the crimes does not matter. If one murders one person, or a thousand persons, that person is still sentenced for eternity. Which means the "justice" does not take into account the severity of crimes, and can therefore not be called just.
MetaphorInVain 3 weeks ago

Woreyel 1 month ago
@Woreyel Your god is an unjust judge deciding to eternally reward or punish people for finite crimes, and that is why it is disgusting.
30mmPwnage 1 month ago
@30mmPwnage So is a court judge, unjust for punishing a person who took possibly just a few second to murder someone. And yet the judge sentences him to 5 years in prison. By YOUR standard of justness, THAT would be "disgusting" But no. God is the supreme authority of all creation and existence, therefore his judgements are at you highest level. You do not go to heaven, for keeping the Ten commandment, no ones is, you go to heaven for accepting Jesus Christ.
Woreyel 4 weeks ago
@Woreyel The judge is not unjust for ruling a finite punishment for a finite crime, however your god lacks basic compassion as he fails to reveal himself to every human, and then for no fault of their own, punishes them eternally because they did not see him. So please, see that if this being existed he is not worthy of worship, as you are more moral than him and so am I.
30mmPwnage 4 weeks ago
@30mmPwnage Thus, God as the Creator has the right to define absolute standards of behaviour. Stop spewing your opinionated prejudice of God, it will get you absolutely no where.

30mmPwnage 4 weeks ago
@30mmPwnage That kind of response is exactly why you don't believe in God. You're free to choose which ever eternity you want. You're free to live out your life as an atheist. One of the reasons I am not an atheist is that i see extremely few people who can live as one, and being consistent with their worldview. Sadly, you have let your prejudgments about God, get the better of you. And that's something only you can deal with.

30mmPwnage 4 weeks ago
@30mmPwnage Even though you may deny it, the morality and rules that most humans adhere to have their basis in the Bible, specifically in the history of Genesis. The Bible claims to be the revealed Word of God and that the biblical God is the ultimate authority and foundation for knowledge. The Bible tells us that God is the Creator of all things and, therefore, all things belong to Him.
Woreyel 4 weeks ago
@30mmPwnage When I was young, I was an atheist, because I had absolutely no reason to believe in God either. I did not see or noticed Gods existence anywhere. But that because I did not seek out, God. Miraculously, the more I did, the more God revealed himself to me, as I sought. Gods NOT automatically going to restrain you, when he reveals himself to you. If you do not want to see God, then you will blind yourself to his revelations. God created the moral code for man.
Woreyel 4 weeks ago
@30mmPwnage You NEED to lose your prejudice opinions, & judgmental bias, before you can gain any amount of biblical understanding about God. Before you do that, I can not reason with you. I can reason with a person who is willingly open, & curious, but YOU show a harsh and incriminating prejudice against a God that you do not know at all. The bible says that in Romans 1:18, that God h
