This is another sci fi myth, they didn't do a placebo trial along side injecting loads of jet trash into the brains of monkeys from the bodies they 'reconstructed virus', that's another myth too. Also, you suggest that the reason why people were so prone to pneumonia is because the flu destroyed cells in the lungs. This is very nebulous, at best. While it is true that the flu does kill cells in the lungs, which can invite bacteria, then pneumonia, you failed to mention that bacteria can cause pneumonia INDEPENDENTLY of the flu. However, you probably know this already cus you said the flu made people "more prone," which again would invalidate your gun shot vs bleeding out comparisons.

Did Staphylococcus aureus which typically doesn't cause pneumonia except post influenza suddenly become highly contagious (like, say, a flu virus) and spread around the world infecting all these victims who were mostly young, healthy men?

Blaylock did not say that the flu virus did not cause pneumonia, rather that many people died from pneumonia and not the flu virus ipso facto. By him saying it this way, he suggests that the pneumonia was not solely caused by the flu. Certain spores, bacteria or parasites may cause pneumonia also. Thats why your comparison to death by gunshot vs bleeding out does not really apply. He makes the distinction between one cause out of many, and your comparison is strictly 1 cause and 1 effect.
To clarify that further... his entire argument was that so many people died not because of the flu, but because of pneumonia. He did so as a means to argue that the flu virus was not particularly dangerous. He then goes on oddly enough to acknowledge this by trying to argue that the only reason the virus was of any danger was because we couldn't properly treat pneumonia, which was the common complication with the influenza. Hence the response following this statement.
Most of the people who died in 1918/19 did because they were given between 5 and 30grams of aspirin to bring the temperature down. It is amazing how many dorks want to believe we are all going to die from the lurgy, the only virus spreading is the misinformation that we are all going to die, it's total bollocks. All we have to do is inject a pile of untested jet trash and all will be saved, until it mutates and then we have to buy another shot!
