Just goes to show that playing high notes is not just a matter of strong lips and a powerful lungs - obviously, this kid has none of the physical abilities of an adult, yet he can still make the notes.

(taking age into consideration)hes not good but he has ability to get better and become great. just like anyone. as long as the worst trumpet player in the world practices(the right way) they will inevitebly get better and become good

This kid's got some serious lip for a little kid. Someday he's gonna be able to actually play that high and the low notes just prove that. But you should really focus on teaching him how to use his air right so someday he can get some real strength and body to his sound. Get him a teacher.

@bobetexan you should focus on his lower notes at the moment not just high ones. think about it like this.His playing abilities is like a house if u start from the top it wont work u start from the bottom and work up and it becomes great

Do NOT get this kid in a drum corps! He should become a musician! :) disclaimer: there are some good musicians who do corps, but it's not about the real "musical" experience.

haha. Don't worry satchm05, most of the greatest musicians decide not to do drum corps anyways.

They all find it to be "a waste of time and money". I just like drum corps kuz I enjoy being a part of a team. Not to mention to boost that it gives you to your confidence :]

That's what it's all about man! I used to be a big fan of corps, and it certainly has it's place, but I think it has become too much of the focus of music education programs (like in high schools). When winning marching contests is the main focus of a high school's program, a lot of musical potential and growth can be discarded.

actually most trumpet players can't do this. This is actually how you learn to do things by trying them out yourself and seeing what works for you and how you can improve your own techniques. That "fast fart" is actually how you play effortlessly in the upper register.

Its bcoz the father is teaching hym.Her syster cant do it too.Coz she start playing when she was 10 yrs old.

Exander start playing when he was 4 yrs old.

Don't be jealous about it cramit123. Obviously he has some proud parents supporting him and if he keeps on, starting at that age, he'll be taking our jobs in no time. It's kinda cute, haha. I'm sure he will be a great trumpet player in time!

Just make sure he works on fundamental things as well, not just low and high. If he starts off on the right foot at this age he could be the next Wynton or Maynard ;) haha
