@frictionRx9 I get taxed by the U.K government on capital gains and income. Not to mention council tax and national insurance contributions. That's 4 taxes. I'm not an American citizen and I don't have any businesses based in the U.S so I'm therefore exempt from your taxes. You should be more concerned about the oil company's in your country getting tax rebates on record profits.

@frictionRx9 I invest in U.S companies. I don't work there or have a business based there. By law I don't pay U.S taxes. That's your law and it would be the same if you invested in U.K companies. It's all done through my bank and they may even pay a charge to your government for this kind of transaction, I haven't asked. I have made this money myself without the aid of Americans, I don't owe America anything. Your giant oil companies however, do owe you something and they aren't paying.

You have to cut medicare and social security. Even if dumbass congress raised the tax revenues by taxing the rich. The debt is $13 trillion. No time in history has a country had that kind of debt.Countries have collapsed way before that.But whoever cuts medicare and social security is committing political suicide.Thats why nobody will talk about it.

@jxsilicon9 The factor that you are leaving out is growth. This is how the US reduced its huge debt to GDP ratio after WWII. 13 trillion doesn't mean anything by itself, you need to related it to GDP, and in terms of paying it off, you need to see how that ratio is affected by growth.

I don't see that possible with the current government. Especially the Republicans.
