The M1A1 is a much better tank that something designed for WWII but it's not magic. It will still get smashed into tiny bits because stopping power refers to the GUN and M1V1 = M2V2 does not favour a 41lb projectile in this matchup.

And if the M1A1 or an M1A2 shot the train head on it would most likely bounce, and if it didn't bounce, it would simply make hole.

I don't believe that is a real tank. The weight/momentum of the train would certainly push the tank a long way down the tracks, but no way would it cause the hull to disintegrate like it appears to in the clip.
