  • sh**t, how did i miss this play.

  • I never thought I would live to see the day that the film would make a musical

  • its about the first part isnt it

  • This song is surprisingly...sweet. Very cute.

Could use a little more BOOMSTICK.

And judging by the rest of the videos I've seen, this shit looks amazing and funny as HELL.

I MUST SEE THIS BEFORE I DIE

  • Basically she went in the forest and the trees start running after her and it is really funny. Then they kind of grab her and it goes black.

  • in the one i saw u actually see the tree doin shit to her, shit was hawt ;D

  • How does the musical interprate the tree rape scene?

  • i dont consider it rape considering she fucking LOVED that shit

  • its not rape if they shout surprise.

  • i love this musical!!

  • Just saw this musical at the Vogue in Vancouver. Great musical! Very funny and very entertaining. What a fun song... hahaha

  • same

  • soo excited for the 30th. (:

  • I have my AoD shirt on.

  • such a fun song!

  • I think my school should do THIS play.

    :D

  • OMIGOD, this is the first time I've seen the musical!

    AMAZING!!!

Also, I watched AoD for the 8th time today. It still rules!

    hail to the king, baby

  • What I really liked about the movies of evil dead was how Sam Raimi always tormented Bruce I know this because I listen to the commentary and Sam had said that in evil dead 2 when Bruce fell backwards into the celler he didin't want to do it so Sam goes "Bruce it's not that far down and I swear to god he started crying." after Sam said that Bruce says "Don't bring that up Sam I was scared for the first time in my life I was scared." I almost died of laughter.

  • Saw this twice in Calgary, love it! Though (and I may be biased) I found the cast in our run to be better than any other I've seen, even the original.

  • ive seen this musical in calgary 4 times. the splatter zone seats are 65 bucks. but its worth it. plus you get to meet the cast after the show. never mind walking in downtown at 10pm covered in blood. its well worth it.

  • That sounds awesome. I never sat splash zone but I was waitressing the version local to me, so I saw it for free. <3

  • omg that was the best showing of evil dead I have ever seen! I was never able to sit in the splatter zone but it sure looked like fun!

  • I saw the show twice during the NYC run. Opening night (I was 5 seats away from Bruce Campbell, shame Sam Raimi didn't come to the show) And then saw the last show. Its the most fun in theatre since The Producers with the original cast.

The cast could sing, the songs were hysterical, I just wish I got a SplatterZone seat just once. Definitely a MUST-SEE whether you're a Evil Dead fan or not. Just a blast.

  • haha just saw it here in calgary on june 16th. i loved it and got covered in blood!

  • i saw it at the beck center in cleveland ohio. amazing musical. (:

  • Yeah its comiong to my hometown in Lakewood Ohio. It's pretty weird, but hey it could be fun.

  • Hilarious!!! I was laughing a day later...

  • Well it was a fun series. Never thought of it like a musical, but yeah at least they could sing. I could see myself seeing this.

  • Yeah I had a slow coudin that was like that.

  • this musical is coming to my city next month. 137 dollars for 2 splater zone tickets! is it really worth it?? please sombody let me know!

  • yes-now go spray thyself :D

  • Hell yes it is.

  • That sounds pretty Steep. It's $28 at the Beck Center...$7 for a Splatter Zone Shirt... $17 for Students

  • wow!! really?!?! what city do you live in? Evil Dead is here in Calgary Alberta right now and yyeah tickets are very high.. $137.00 for 2 tickets! i cant afford it right now and if i did have that cash i would rather buy a ticket to the Slayer & Megadeth concert!

  • Dude, i got tickets for calgary and they were 30 bucks each

  • what?!? lucky!

  • Hahahah yep....Beck Center ftw...seeing it there Friday night :D

  • I saw it in nyc......the very last show.......IT'S ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!!!!

BTW I paid $115 times 2 for non-splatter zone!!!!!( last show last 2 tix)---still worth it!!!

  • This is just his and his directors interpretation of the script. There is no real way to find an actor that looks and acts exactly like Bruce Campbell. True Bruce did an amazing job as ash, hell it was one of the roles that blasted him into the great B-Movie Actor that he is. Bruce didn't write the script did he? so i doubt he will be paid...I watched this and it wasn't as bad as i thought. I as well love evil dead 1,2, and army, with a passion :D. No offense man.

  • Bruce Campbell co-produced the evil dead with sam raimi

and yes no one will ever live up to bruce campbell's acting

what really pisses me off is the fact that hes a minor attraction in a movie freak slideshow

I guess bruce campbell chose his soul instead of money fame and living endlessly to self-indulgant idiocy that gets to the front page of gossiping gabbys website

  • Mellow out. Bruce loves this show & even gave a talkback with the audience after a show. He loves Ryan Ward (Ash in this) & gives him mass props for doing this 8 times a week.

  • dey just need to get an elvis impersonator to play ash lol

  • it's a musical. It doesn't have to be the same as the movie.

Bruce Campbell is a god...but he couldn't do 8 shows a week...he just isn't trained for it. Ryan Ward is terrific, & retains plenty of Campbell's quirks, but brings his own flavor to the character. He can't just copy everything Bruce did.

  • I'm a HUGEHUGEHUGE fan of Bruce....

I think he's pretty much god's gift to...well...everything...He's just amazing.

What I was saying was Musical theatre is a very different field than film. The training is vigorous & strenous. After all, 8 shows a week is difficult as it is, but if you're singing AND dancing in the show? It's VERY stressful & requires years of work...

It's a VERY different field than film.

  • As I said, I love Bruce & I meant no disrespect; Bruce is the shit. But when it comes to theatre, different actors interpret the same character different ways. It's how it works. That's what's so great about the theatre. But what I meant was, is that Bruce is fantastic, true, but he is not trained to do a musical..especially not 8 times a week. His area of expertise is film & he's wonderful in it.

But film & theatre are, as I said, VERY different. It's just about being open to different ideas

  • @boynamedalexxx I totally agree! To me Ash IS Bruce Campbell but the exception would be Ryan Ward. I saw this show back in 2004 in Montréal and he was amazing in it. I realized just how much energy it takes to be in a play...

  • @gothichyppie Rick Domeier..."Evil Ed" from EVIL DEAD 2 came to the opening night of our performance in South Jersey (Stage Left Productions). This is such a great show...and even those from the movies LOVED it!!!!

  • @jameseckstein1 Of course it's great show - it's well-researched and acted, it's funny as hell and it's packed with fan-serving one-liners! I see it as a movie by itself, I'd buy the dvd in a heartbeat! :D

  • there was a musical

  • WTF

  • two of my friends did this song in my performance class, i love this song, but theirs was waay more entertaining to watch than this...

  • Best... Musical... EVER!!!

  • I always wonder about many comments marked "spam" as it seems that most aren't bad or spam!

  • who knows? lol.

Well i tried talking my history teacher, who is the director of the musicals, to do this for next year. ha ha

  • LOL! That would be really cool!!!

  • I know!

Knowing our school though, they'd reject the idea.

  • Yeah, that stinks! Hopefully, if you put together a good proposal you can make it something they'll agree to!

  • Or josh and I can get a bunch of people and do a reenactment for RDP!

  • LOL! That would be great too!!! Even if the school does it, it would still be neat!

  • a lot of swearing in the musical though =(

    lol

  • Ah, that's why they might oppose it. Well, seeing that kids of only 4 or 5 hear plenty of swearing on t.v., you'd think that it shouldn't be a problem in a play... but then again it only takes a few people to object...

  • like parents.

  • Exactly!

  • I'm soo proud this thing is from Toronto!

It's all over the world now, that so cool.

  • Why are people laughing?

    Deary me.

    Loved the movie. ;D

  • i know!

i hate when you go and see a play or a movie and people laugh at the stupid shit

  • Man I hope this show comes to Oklahoma. That shit would be awesome!

  • I was so happy to hear this show was coming to my state, but to my horror I realized it would be five hours away. I doubt me or my friends could manage to catch a show.

  • i like love this musical sooooooo much, the movies are pretty kick ass too =D

  • omg when we saw evil dead we had nooooo idea wat the hell was gonna happen, we thought we were gonna regret seeing it, we were wrong lol best thing to happen 2 us in Toronto

  • A theatre in Indianapolis is ABSOLUTELY putting that play on...and some of Indy's best up and coming thespians are involved. Go see Evil Dead :)

  • A theatre in Indianapolis Indiana is putting it on from Oct. 10th to November 14th or something like that. Check it out.

  • i'd like to se this, but doubt it'll ever get to a theatre near me

  • I saw this in Toronto, pretty sweet

  • saw it last night it was awesome

  • OK, WAIT - I'm confused...I saw this YEARS AGO in an outdoor setting in CHICAGO with a completely different cast...it was great. Then, I saw those same performers do ARMY OF DARKNESS: The Musical at a horror con in Chicago. It was EVEN FUNNIER, and borderline brilliant. Did it get ripped-off in NY or Canada or whatever??

  • no... AOD the musical is a rip-off. Evil dead is an actual play with an actual website, and CD, and so on. This cast is the original cast. the one you saw were rip-off actors.

  • there the same company

  • This was a good play, but not my favorite. I liked the Candarian Demon song the best but i can't find it anywhere!

  • id see that! cool!

  • This was so much better live. It sounds crappy here. This must be an early recording or something. I saw it twice and it was sooo much better. Also I actually liked the understudy in Toronto a bit better as Ash. The guy who played Scotty Did Ash a little more sarcastic. This show rocks!!!!

  • Did you see it on July 5th? The understudy was good, but not as good as OTC Ash. The Scott understudy killed the character.

  • No I Saw it March 28th with the Slightly bigger guy that played Scott with the black hair. He wasn't quite as good a singer, but he had more personality. I saw it again with the main guy in late May. He was good but it just didn't have the same light hearted fun that it did with the other guy.

Also When picking your seat you get a better view from the left side. They look in your direction more.

No matter what it is an awsome show!!!!

  • i wish this would come somewhere near me. we get load of crap, but not this

  • I'm seeing it the last Show at the Last time in Toronto!

    I'm SOOOOOOOO excited!

  • same here!

  • This and Do The Necronomicon are my two favourite songs from the play. Seen it twice, going to see it at least 2 more times.

  • i saw this musical last year in Toronto. IT WAS AMAAAAAAZING! extremely funny! i loved it!

  • Heehee, this is cheesy of course, but that's what makes it so fun! <3 LOL!!

  • why are they laughing at the unfunny parts??

  • wow, he sounds like the real ash williams. good stuff.

  • FOLK YOU LOWS

  • Bruce cambell went 2 it

  • i had no idea this was a musical... does bruce campell know? this is fucking awesome!

  • Yeah, Bruce and Sam Raimi both signed off on it. Buy the soundtrack, it's fucking hilarious!!

  • Um, he's seen it, like I think 2 times so yes

  • i have videos of songs from this show in my channel

  • lmao!! Who cares about blenders when you're right there? hahaa

  • lmao!! Who cares about blenders when you're right there? hahaa

  • Well this isn't illegal.

  • Jesus that song isn't THAT funny. Just the groovy part

  • Jesus that song isn't THAT funny. Just the groovy part

  • They have pretty good chemisty

  • I drove to Toronto last week (6 hour drive) and saw this show. It was incredible! Ryan Ward makes me swoon. The Diesel Playhouse is adorable, too. If there's any way you can get there before it closes on April 6, I'd definitely recommend it!

  • i was jsut there last night seeing the show for the second time it was absolutely brilliant!! and its actually been extended untill june!!

  • Whoa whoa whoa floriarose...I've seen every run of this show, and many of the cast in the current run are the best. It is quite a bit different now, than it was in this vid. But I still love seeing the older clips. Such happy memories.

Personally, I wish some of the Toronto guys were on the audio cd. Some of the NY cast grate a bit.

  • I love Evil Dead, thanks for the clip.

Check out my tribute to Evil Dead using the band Tool. See my profile (ccny12).

    Gotta love it!

  • why those fuckers don't stop laughing?

  • cause the lyrics rules man

  • I think that was back when alcohol was served in the audience.

  • you didnt get it man

I LOVE evil dead, it would be great to watch this without someone laughing at every sentence

  • because this is THE BEST MOVIE EVER!

and the audience gets every reference!

  • you didnt get it man

I LOVE evil dead, it would be great to watch this without someone laughing at every sentence

  • YOu have to have been there.

  • Where did you get the DVD wickedlover101? I really need to know

  • this song is so pretty to bad you can barely hear it w/ everyone laughing

  • this is one great musical I seen God I do wish they put on DVD like that new Evil dead thing but I guess they did not but I hope someday they will I buy it.

  • I REALLY wish I could find the NYC cast on DVD. They were SO much better then Toronto. Same Ash though of course, he rocks!

  • Well you have to remember this is the FIRST Toronto cast from when the show was FIRST done and everything from the blocking to the set to the lyrics to the casting has changed a lot since then. I mean they had to extended the last Toronto run this year twice and now it's coming back in February.

  • wickedlover101 , where did you get it on dvd?

  • i have the full show on dvd.

  • How and where?

  • Where and how did you get it??

  • Oh...my...god. I swear, if this ever shows in Vancouver, I'll be there so fast that it'll be the day before I heard about it. Fuck 'Wicked', this looks like the BEST MUSICAL EVER.

  • Same! I totally wish it would come here, I'd go see it more then once.

  • That audience needs to shut the hell up. EVERYTHING ISN'T FUNNY.

  • I saw this in previews in NYC. It was awesome.

  • I saw this show twice when it was in New York City it was the best ever, the splatter zone wasn't enough for the amount of blood they used. At one point a splatter shot actually reached the top balcony. Greatest show ever!!!

  • true that!

  • Yeah!

  • Ooooh!! I soo wanted to see this while I was in Toronto but we weren't there long enough :(

Hope they can bring the show to England sometime!

  • Yeah I hope so!

  • What the. . . o.o

  • fuck was that?

    :D

  • yeah.. 30 bucks for the splatter zone tickets in toronto.. i saw it last night, and it was amazing!! first row, right in front of the trap door.. got covered in crap. everyone should definitely see this!

  • I hated how people laught at things that weren't funny!

  • the one in Toronto was better done

  • agreed

  • Wow, it's definitely improved since then, the singing is better, and the set is more detailed. Still, form its humble origins it's kept the same charm

  • i cant wait to get the cd

  • I saw the CD available on Amazon...it's CRAZY. I wish I'd had a chance to see this live, though. I only recently saw the first Evil Dead film.

  • Where did you download the soundtrack for this musical from? I'd really like to know.

  • Fucken STUPID!!!

  • what do you mean? its brilliant. your fucking stupid you little asshole

  • saw this show and got to sit in the SPLATTER ZONE and get all bloody. 30 bucks well spent.

  • If you saw it in Toronto, then it definitely wasn't 30 bucks for the splatter zone. but the Musical was awesome!!!!!!

  • I did see it in Toronto and it was 31.50

  • PM me too.

  • Groovy.

  • He actually sounds sort of similar to Bruce.

  • HAHA THE MUSICAL WAS FUCKIN AWSOME!!

  • absolute blasphemy, no happy

  • Who cares about blenders when your right there!

    Brillant!

  • I'D Kill to see this cum to the UK!!!

  • you have no idea how badly i want to see this show!!!

    minted!

  • Gah...I hope it comes to the UK, I downloaded the soundtrack today and I freaking love it! :D

  • Where'd you download it from???

    PM me?

  • i loved this so much

  • I'm so glad that George changed the lyrics, and the flow of the song. :P

  • Im going to marry Ryan Ward. He is absolutely amazing. <3333

  • Me first!

And he looks so hot covered in blood, to boot. ;)

  • Its about time that Evil Dead became a musical! lol. The soundtrack has a much higher quality of singing.

  • I really like the musical, I managed to find the soundtrack online. Shame they never toured, I'd love to have seen it (I live in England)

  • i can't believe this shit i'm listening to. these actors can't sing at all. the music is horrible. this show makes legally blond look like west side story.

  • how dare u call this shit shit!!!

  • taking a masterpiece and turning into the worst musical of all time. how dare they? the people in the audience are totally wasted. they're laughing at nothing. THANK GOD THIS SHIT CLOSED. THERE IS JUSTICE IN THIS WORLD AFTERALL.

  • u suck ur dad

  • jk sry

  • It's showing to sold out audience.

  • Sorry you feel this way.

Just saw the play in Toronto and we all had a ball.

  • Those people are really wasted.

  • yeah seriously, they laughed half way through it and they didn't even make a joke yet

  • They're laughing because of the lyrics and are probaly fans of the movies so get all the little Ash/Linda references I know that's why I'd be laughing If I saw the show.

  • I think the audience is totally baked! What are they laughing at!? The comdey hadn't even started!
