I love this song and I love the tribute to Martin Luther King...he was a hero that empowers to fight for all humanity.....beautiful song by Patty Griffin..just takes you to that place.....makes you feel at peace.
@MySerpentine That's really rude to say. Would you like it one of you family members was assinated? Im guessing no, so don't say a bunch of stuff you don't even know.
Im a mexican born american, mr martin luther kings work changed my life in a drastic positive way,im one of many in this movement of revolution, mr king... your wisdom is alive in our hearts and souls, we will finish your revolution....
The time was not long ago A life was taken from a world in need Inspiration with a dream was laid to rest The vision still alive today His impact in such a short time Left a mark in our hearts and our souls May we be as bold and as strong We call ourselves brothers For we are the human race Change starts within a generation For you and I are equal Thank you Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

What I liked the most about Dr. King was that he saw people as people. He didn't see Democrats or Republicans, he saw human beings. He saw that every one of us ae beautiful in the fact that we each have the greatest capacity for violence, but he BELIEVED we each had that same capacity for love and generosity. He was not a man, he was a force of nature, and in his short life she did more for humanity than most people who live 90 years.
Republicans still stand for things like life, liberty - justice - family - They seem to stand more of the things of the family than Democrats do - True we live in a different American than when Mr. King was alive - but injustice is still around and we all need to go up to the mountain and come back down ready to die for the things that will make others lives better.
I love this tribute. It speaks volumes about the kind of man he was. My favorite part of this pic is the quote at the end. See you in the promised land.
@dovecry2 He was not a republican. That is something that his niece, Alveda King, has long put forth. His immediate family, wife and children, have always said this was not true. Who do you think knew him better? He actively campaigned against Goldwater and was a supporter of Planned Parenthood. Please stop spreading untruths.
WOW, Thank You soooooooo much for posting. This is paramount. My Hero My idol, I Love Dr. Martin Luther King, for being the great person you were and always will be.
Thank you so much for this beautiful video. What a wonderful synchronicity to find it here, a few days before the holiday celebrating Dr. King's birthday.
What a wonderful man of GOD...He truely was sent from the heavens to make change upon this Earth never losing his faith in the process....And united we all stand together today with what he hade changed.....RIP

In his last speech he said he was not afraid of any man.
He knew what was coming, didn't he?

How Long will our streets run red with the blood of the innocents'
How long will we ignore the cries of the 'not yet' born created ones
How long with will we go our own way
How long
Not long
Inspired by Dr. King
Thank YOu Dr. King
Soon we will all see you with our Lord

....April 4th. Shots ring out, in a Memphis sky. Free at last. They took your life. They could not take your pride.
God bless you Martin Luther King.
And thank you Ms.Griffin for a beautiful tribute to a beautiful man.
