  • I was 2 when this aired but I remember some of the later episodes, many thanks.

  • I barely remember this show. I was 5 when it went off. So I didn't get to see that many shows.

The Beverly Hillbillies ran for a long time and that being said, I would have to say that it was a lot more popular than the Real McCoy's. One more thing must be said, when the Beverly Hillbillies went color it had to help the viewers. I still enjoy watching these old episodes.

  • Kathy Nolan was a real McCoy.

  • This refreshed ancient memories dormant for decades! I love YouTube for such treats!

    THANKS.

  • "I say he's a Roushian.."

  • I remember when the McCoys said they were moving to the San Fernando VAlley in California -- and it is barren farm land! WHOA! a lot has changed in the SF Valleys since the 50's and the McCoys!

  • On what show nowadays would you ever see the main character stop and offer sincere prayer ? How far entertainment has fallen, and to what filthy depths.

  • I only vaguely remember this show, but as a kid I was heartbroken for 3 or 4 years after it ended. The B. Hillbillies and G. Island were poor substitutes weren't they?

  • @BlueJayRobin yep. I think the Beverly Hillbillies got their idea from this show. It went on the air the season after the last Real McCoys. I've even heard Grandpa say vittles on the show. How many times did you hear Jed or Granny say that?

  • @BlueJayRobin All the country folk outta water shows got their inspiration from the Ma and Pa Kettle movies and such of the late 40's/50. Li' Abner comic strip was also very popular as well. That's why there was so many shows based in the bumpkin category for a good decade. They were all good natured, fun/funny and clean subject programs. I liked them all.

  • Where is Mr. Peabody (and his pet boy Sherman) with his "Wayback Machine"?because I would love to get in and go back and revisit those 60's days every now and then.

These posts however ,are the next best thing...thanks

  • Loved this Show as a child, it taught us how to treat others to care for others and to be respectful.

  • I left the gun in the car but I got my hand on my knife...

I think its a Roossian judgin' from the langauage. That there is English, but he done somein' to it but English is what it is.

Lordi how the times have changed!

  • Nice. Thanks. Watched this religiously along with Sky King and all the rest of the Golden Oldies. "Much obliged" 'mytvmemories!

  • Back then you could watch a show without hearing in causing nowa days most of the t.v. shows on t.v. have a lot of causing in them which is sad because there are a lot of young kids that watch t.v. You never have to worry about hearing any bad words or getting offended while watching this show or The Andy Grifth Show its not like that anymore t.v. shows have changed so much since then

  • Thanks for posting. This is real familly entertainment. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Notice how the Cold War creeps even into a comedy show...not unusual for that era...A rooshin'...I love it....Now it would be " a mooslim".

  • One of my favorite shows while growing up in the early sixties. WOW, actually giving thanks to the Lord on a TV program! Won't see that anymore.

  • Yes children, at one time this country had hope. pride decency, a sense of humor ... and a future.

    Thanks for the memories MYTV.

  • Back in the days when (to a large extent) DECENCY STILL REIGNED in most of America. This was a great comedy-drama show.

Walter Brennan was one of the great character acters of all time.

    Old Walter and Gabby Hayes!

    Rest in Peace!

  • Memories!

  • Oh my word. I haven't thought of this one in YEARS!!!!!!!!!

  • I always though little Luke was their son...looks like I was wrong. Honeybabe later became sugarbabe.

  • I've been wondering up to this time why there were two "Luke's" Did it ever occur to Hassie to say "This is my brother Luke and this is my other brother Luke?"

  • "A rooshin!"

  • Good 'ol Show!

Ain't seen this, in a long time!

    Thanks!

  • Back in the day when people still had good morals. Parents should get their kids to watch these old shows, instead of the trash that's on TV now. They'll turn out better, if they're taught right while they're young.

  • @Rachella38 Your right. Reagan delt the country a real blow when he deregulated the media. And we wonder why these kids are so screwed up.

  • @dicarlo57 what the devil are you talking about. reagan didnt do anything to screw kids up,you must be the one thats screwed up,its the damn rap music and the things they say in their songs if you can call them songs that screwed kids up.all their lyrics are all about killing cops ,killing white people and treated women like their trash ,the rappers has destroyed our youth for all they talk about is trash and putting women down like their trash or something like dogs so get real

  • @100rebelyell By deregulating the media he allowed for this crap to be played on the air, or produced in the first place

  • Ah...the good old days before trash TV took over.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Loved the series back then and love it even more now.

  • What is it Luke? His name is Pepino! He's a Mexican

  • thanks for posting...pls post more!!!!!!!!!
