  • NALBA is the best!!

  • he played like a god these two weeks

owned everyone..well, djoko is doing it for almost a year(

  • Comment removed

  • @maxikpocba07 che es horrible tu inglés jaja

  • @maxikpocba07 sos argentino, no?

  • There was no chance this Final for Nadal even if Davydenko somehow beated Nalbandian in the semis Davydenko could've too beaten Nadal :D POOR NADAL ! :D

  • damn, i can't remember the last time nadal got bageled.

  • Ever you ever seen a better backhand than Nalbandian at his best?

  • @Zozim57 watching this is nostalgic because djokovic plays the same as nalbandian, same backhand strokes beating nadal, even has same dropshot pose.

  • After this match, Nadal goes on to win 6 Grand Slams and become world #1 while Nalbandian spends most of his time at home dealing with injuries. LOL!

  • @HenryTheJoker

    how is that funny? asshole.

  • @ez44567 It's funny in the sense that one guy with a history of injuries and bad knees can still perform his best for most of the seasons while another guy is too lazy to try to be the best he can be. Everybody knows Nalbandian doesn't train hard and comes into matches out of shape.

  • @HenryTheJoker

just shows you if nalbandian wanted he could train and bitchslap nadal anyday.

  • @ez44567 Will Nalbandian ever reproduce this kind of tennis ever again? He's 29 now I believe.

  • @HenryTheJoker Nalbandian uses most of their time at parties, that is the reason why he has had so many injuries...

    That's the true

  • @brucerxb More like uses most of his time at McDonalds.

Did you see how fat he was at this year's USO???

  • Just incredible, he decided to play on the last two masters 1000 that year and dropped the rest of the season. He would have definitly won the TMC that year. Best tennis ever on indoor surfaces. He made Rafa look weak twice in two weeks in a row. I've never seen that before or since..

  • @saitam2010arg I fully agree

  • Nalbandian should have made the TMC that year.

  • i love nalbandian's clean strokes! if only he could volley and could serve a bit harder and didn't get injured, he could win slams! mind you, nadal's fighting spirit and incredible speed and spins are amazing too.

  • That´s reminds me of Tsonga a few months after beating Rafa in straights in AO, Nadal wasn´´t nearly as good on hc as he is now + it was two players who hadn´t trouble with Rafas looping shots on the backhand side! Look how ineffective Rafas shots is against Nalb and Tsonga in these matches where Fed allways had huge trouble taking them, Rafa can allways play Fed back to his defensive side like all players do to beat Fed, make him slice or overrush and commit errors!

  • Having to face Nalbandian's backhand is like an old western stand-off... in which you haven't been given a gun

  • jajajaja su cerote al raton jajaja

  • On talent alone, Nalbandian is the most gifted tennis player of the last 10 years after Federer and Djokovic. But talent is not enough, you also need resilience and professionalism. That's why Nadal and Del Potro have won Grand Slams titles and Nalbandian hasnt. But I think Nalbandian should have won the 2003 US Open, he was very unlucky not to win it. He was leading Roddick 2 sets up in the semis and injured his wrist. Without that injury he would have won that tournament easily against Ferrero

  • @zodyce I'm saying almost the same. The thing I don't agree with you is Djokovic. I never found him very talented. Not even after Miami win. He'll be no1. for sure one day. But he is not extremely talented. Mentally he is a giant. It's clear. On mental side his rankings is absolutely right. You probably wrote him because of this fantastic run in 2011. I think Del Potro has more tenis talent even though many tennis fans call him ballbasher.

  • Nalbandian reached the semi's of every Grand Slam multiple times. His injuries and misfortunes clearly hampered him throughout his career, and besides he is more interested in racing and other activities than tennis.

Nalbandian also beat Kuerten at RG, Federer and should have won against Roddick in USO, he's also got a good record against most top players.

  • @ez44567

Also, who has Nalbandian actually beaten at a slam? I think the only good victory he's had was against 2003 Federer at US Open. Hardly anything to write home about, whilst Safin has beaten Sampras multipule times at slams, Agassi also, Kuerten at the FO, Roddick when he was #1, Federer when he was #1, Djokovic in his best year etc ect etc.

Not bad for someone with countless wrist, back and leg injuries. Also, Safin had a worse temperment and attitude towards tennis than Nalbandian.

  • @Th3BlackReaper he beat roger at the australian open in 2003 as well.

  • @extradutyfelt1

That's nice and all, but Federer was still yet to win a slam and Nalbandian was ahead of him at that point.

  • Furthermore, Safin was very good at the net. He anticipated well and had great touch for such a powerful player. Quite like Tsonga. Safin also played a lot of doubles as well.

The only people who believe Nalbandian is one of the most technically best players ever. You can say that Safin doesn't come close.

I can judge who the better player is by looking at Safin's slam results. And Loling at Nalbandian's. LOL.

  • Nalbandian's backhand just doesn't make sense

  • nadal got owned in the second set lol

  • I would be so effing pissed if that was me that lost.

    NET STRAP DAM YOU :(

  • Nalbandian, Safin and probably Gonzalez are, in my view, the sports biggest under-acheivers. All so talented with almost nothing to show for it. Yes Safin has 2 slams and former number one but he should definitely have more slams, and gonzo+nalbo more than deserve a few slams themselves. Such a shame they are all so in-consistent, all have fantastic wins against both Nadal and Federer, two of the greats of the sport. Such a shame.

  • even uncle tony has to applaud for nalbandian

  • can anybody tell me what happened to him?

  • @imbecillealseguito food, beer, womans, cars... jajajja, but is the best (when he is in form)

  • This is 3 years ago. Nadal is playing like a defensive clay-courter in this match. Today's Nadal would have played far more aggressively and come to the net much more. Nadal is a much better player today and can play on all surfaces.

  • No contest for a player of Nalby's class against Nadull on fastcourts.

  • David has an awsome potential. He is a werewolf and the moonlight is the player in front of him. Apparently Nadal is was a full moon that day.

  • warning!!!!! evrywhere he go, nada will place his finger in the ....shole kakakakaka

Murray or nalbandian beat him like a bitch, because they dont return the ball where nada wait (on his backhand) and because simply they have the forehand and backhand stronger than nada!!!!!!! Federer is maestro, but he dont make a tactics like that to beat nada, he always make effort to play with his forehand on the nada forehand. nada run well, if they dont play varied, tis difficult to beat him

  • @MoDaTinh Yeah, Murray really did a number on him in Wimbledon this year when Rafa made him look like a fucking amateur. Rafa's hard court game wasn't that great back in 07. Not to mention, people always talk about how great Nalbandian is...dude has won 2 Masters tournaments over the last 11 years. His consistency is fucking awful. Seen him make any quarter finals or semis lately?

  • @DanimalLawlz he's still the second most talented player of our era next to fed definitely. just never put full effort into staying fit and consistent, wish he did though.

  • @cj397

You believe Nalbandian is more talented than Safin and Nadal.

    ROFL!!!

  • @Th3BlackReaper you're telling me he isn't? have you ever seen the guy at his best? i highly doubt it since you think it's funny. do some research newb

  • @cj397

Safin at his best was able to cain the hell out of Sampras, beat prime Federer (04-07) in a hard court slam and has beaten others like Kuerten (at FO), Agassi, Roddick (when #1) and other players. It's not even a debate on who the more technically gifted player is. Safin.

Please tell me, from a tehcnical standpoint how Nalbandian is more talented than Nalbandian.

  • @Th3BlackReaper Well, let's see, i'm not talking about results for one, i'm talking about natural talent. both david and marat's backhands are very close in being some of the best 2 handers ever.

but since you asked, nalbandian annihilated both nadal djokovic AND federer in the SAME tournament twice both in paris AND madrid tournaments in 2007 when david was actually focused on playing. like i said, he has the natural talent, but just never put the effort forth

  • @cj397

Even if you say Safin's and Nalbandian's BH are equal, Safin is the better mover, better FH, much better serve and also better at the net. the only thing Nalbandian does better than Safin is make outraegous angles - but that's only uselful when you're getting pushed around the court (and Safin could make impressive angles also).

  • @Th3BlackReaper

Please stop spreading your rubbish everywhere. People can judge for themselves who's a better player.

Nalbandian is technically one of the best players ever, Safin doesnt come close.

As far as the other attributes go:

Movement - Nalba better mover, lower center of gravity.

    BH - Nalba

Forehand - Close but Nalbandian has better angles.

    Serve - Safin

Net - This one always puzzles me, Safin fans are convinced and deluded he was good at the net. Nalbandian clearly better.

  • @ez44567

Did you actually watch Safin in his younger days before his movement hampered his game? Safin 2000 circa moved incredibly well and was extremely fast. His coordination and speed surpasses Nalbandian's.

Forehand - Yet again Nalbandian fans and their angles.....Angles are nice, but are only useful when you're getting bitchslapped around the court you can fully use them to your advantage. Safin's groundstrokes have more power and depth than Nalbandian's.

  • @Th3BlackReaper

did you watch Nalbandian 2002/2005? He also moved incredibly well. In general Safin groundstrokes are more powerful but his height and build allowed him hit harder and with greater margins.

Tsonga is a better net player than Safin, and as far as results and slams go, Nalbandian clearly deserves a few slams. Safin beat an old Sampras and a worn-out Hewitt in both finals. He was lucky Federer gifted him the match in 05, Fed has clearly bitchslapped him throughout his career.

  • @ez44567

Yes I did watch Nalbandian in 2002-2005. He picked up 1 big title because three people withdrew from the MC 2005 and he played Federer on a bum ankle. He moved well but Safin was actually alot quicker around the court.

    'Nalbandian deserves a few slams'?

Nope. Only the winner deserves it. Not some chump who rarely makes the round of 16. Hewitt worn out? LOL. Hewitt played the easier of the SF's at AO 2005. If anything, Safin should have been the more worn out player.

  • @Th3BlackReaper

Nalbandian was unbeatable at MC 2005, he would have thrashed roddick and nadal, and federer bageled gaudio 6-0 6-0 the match before that so he was clearly in great shape.

Hewitt had a much tougher path to the finals than Safin.

  • @ez44567

Nalbandian wasn't unbeatable at MC 2005; he lost against Federer earlier at RR stages. Nalbandian has a losing record over Roddick and Nadal.

Hewitt didn't have a tougher route to the finals. Safin had to go through Federer.

  • @Th3BlackReaper Nalbandian has a winning record against Nadal: they met 3 times, Nalbandian won twice and Nadal won once.

  • Que madrizaa le dio!!!

  • When Nalbandian goes into apocalypse mode, you just have to be patient and try again next year lol.

  • Nalby was absolutely unstoppable in this tournament, beat Fed and then bageled Rafa in the final, I'd love to see David playing Sampras in his prime, would have been a helluva match

  • @andrewblastoff You know,in my opinion Nalbandian's carrier is asaddest one in tennis history. He had the biggest opportunities in him. He's the most talented player in the last 10 years. But he is extremely inconsistent. That's why he has no slams.I think he had the potential to be a number one over Federer.Roger Federer is a real champion and have all the abilities to be the best. But Nalbandian is the most naturally talented.

  • la cara de nadal pobrecito

  • nadalbandian looks like a gronk at 0:14

  • 3:58 this is what happens when you try to outangle Nalbandian

  • @nicolasfurrikane never really heard of him on the big stage, how could he be the best?

  • god damn... look at that backhand... unbelievable

  • In Indoor, as soon as he's getting the rythm on the return, this guy becomes unstoppable .. It's incredible how well he can return, see the masters cup final of 2005 against Fed if you don't believe me !

  • In good shape nobody can beat Nalbandian! best talent!!

  • Who's Nalbandian?

  • I think if Nalbandian would be more consistent, then he'd be in the top 3.

  • It's so bizarre. Nadal looks like a super athlete hunk and Nalbandian looks like some guy walking down the street with that everyman look! And the super athlete got pwned!

  • Imagine what Nalbandian could achieve were you able to smash a slab of concrete over his stomach like you can Nadal's and even Murray's.

It scares me to think of such a thing.

  • @tyruk I'm sure you can smash a slab of concrete over his stomach... I just don't think he'd be willing at all... Hahaha. Have you ever seen Nalbandian in his younger days? Nalbandian has a beer belly now, but he was more or less the same size even like 8 years ago (or at least it looks like that in the Aus open match between him and Federer). He's just a jolly big boned person. Hurray for the common bodied pro!!

  • probably what Roger Federer has minus a couple slams

  • not if wawrinka is on the other side of the net.

  • @kakashi1300 NOT IF THEY PLAY IN WASHINGTON :-D

  • nalbandian won against nadal and federer so often in master turnaments. so why he didn´t won or win a grand slam ?? does he play at the moment?

  • Because he's a mental midget?

  • he is recovering from a injuerie but he already said that 2010 is a year that he will attack all gram slams and try to win one.

He said that it is the only thing that is missing in he's carreer:D

Icant wait to see want will je bring us this year.

  • yeah, he is..

  • the point at 4:00 is awesome!

  • nowbody plays tennis like nalbandian ....in my opinion hes the most solid tennis player ever and the most talented as well....watch nalbandian vs federer australian open 2003 and see if nalbandian has pure talent or not

  • concordo plenamente

  • safin has a basball bat rather than talent asshole xD

  • Spoken like a true cocksucker.

  • how am i getting a -3 rating. Safin has 2 grand slams and nalbandian has 0. Also, Safin is famous for how lazy he is. Federer and sampras themselves have said Safin is one the most talented players of our generation,

  • Both safin, and nalbandian are such a great but lazy players, remember tthose matches between them and federer in 2004, 2005, 2006? that was great..

  • Nalbandian backhand versus Nadal forehand, david wins.

  • He did on this match

  • @mysteriekiller not acctually

  • nadal sucks

  • yeah he does. thats why he drove roger federer to tears in front of millions of ppl. The dude cried like a little girl cus he lost (AGAIN). That really sucks...

  • im sure if there was an indoor grand slam event, i have no doubts that nalby would win it

  • problem is the big guys up there game in the slams and nalbanidan really isnt the fittest on tour and has failed to make anything the slams of late

  • hope he gets some good form back, hes so good when hes playing well

  • nalbandian that is.

  • 2:43 sushuhsuah what a fag's scream

  • Nalbandian is so good. Such clean mechanics.

  • absolutely, he´s rock solid on his groundstrokes, beautifull to watch him play, both him and roger are top notch player´s technically speaking..

  • he has such consistent great angles.

  • absolutely, the guy is a just a great shotmaker..

  • Safin is better than nalbandian techincally and he is more talented.

  • I disagree, I think david is more talented and has more variation in his arsenal..but if that´s what you believe, by all means do..I just think safin has a bigger serve.

  • well, nalbandian fans will say nalbandian. Safin fans will say Safin.

I think they have different weapons, safin hits big and overpowers his opponent. Nalbandian is more thoughful and has great angles, both are great from the baseline and at the net they are both good.

Safin has a better serve, which is the only think separates the two players. Safin is also physically miles ahead of nalbandian.

  • JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJJA

better technically? pushing and dragging the backhand, and hitting the advestising signs constantly? LOL.

I should watch REALLY good Tennis...

    Safin Better than Nalbandian....? JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJ

  • Of course Safin is better than Nalbandian - he has 2 majors to prove it.

  • and Gaudio has more GS than Andy Murray... does that make Gaudio better tennis player than Murray?

Such a jerk yuo are to say a thing like that ...

  • At this moment in time Murray is better. But in the bigger picture gaudio will be remembered and murray won't (if he fails to win a GS)

  • hahahah!!! i haven't read a funnier comment in months! thanks for the laughs, escapedconvict.

  • what? Safin is a better player than nalbandian.

    2 slams>>>>>0 slams

  • more accomplished....yes

    more talented....hahahahaaaa

technically better....omg...i coughed up a lung and spleen during that laughing fit.

  • ok, so how is nalbandian 'technically better' than safin?

  • what difference does it make? whatever i say, you'll want to counter...i'll never prove it to you with words...just watch nalbandian when he is at his best e.g. against federer....that should be all the proof you need.

  • The problem with Nalbandian is his lack of motivation and at times dedication. He has the talent to win several grand slams, even Federer has said that, and its quite obvious when you see games like this one.

  • it would b a great match if we see both play when they r in top shape, fisically and mentally; Safin loses hope sometimes during a match and Nalbandian is just never in shape for a 3 out of 5 set match

  • Nalbandian loses his focus don't forget.

  • @copavida physically

  • Never in shape? thats why he's one of the few players that has gotten to the semis of all grand slams, what are you talking about

  • physically...not "fisically"

and its "it would be" not "it would b"

I wouldn't feel bad for you if you are American, because its expected

  • @Fernandez218

Yes David has the most sound mechanics on his groundies in this generation save for Safin, they both would stand toe for toe in terms of generating such clean groundies so effortlessly just based on such sound technique. David just doesn't overcomplicate his strokes, just simply short cuts almost a la Agassi.

  • @luirot9 as far as Argentines are concerned i prefer him over Del Potro.

  • Yeah. And the Spaniard with the weird movements goes winning and winning. Go figure... Really strange.

  • @msouzafon2 you're really strange.

  • Is the umpire wearing Barricades?

  • guaa when nalba its on he can beat anyone ..he just destroyed rafa back to back WOWO wuaaa

and rafa 2 serve was crappy hes has better it alot now rarely you see someone pushin rafa 2 serve

  • Federer should observe Nalbandian a bit more considering his tactics against Nadal.

  • no, he should observe delpotro or blake

  • In the end of 2007, Nalby just succumed 4 games to Nadal in Paris, and 3 games in Madrid. I think he is the rare player who could dominate Nadal like so.

  • Nalby loves playing nadal. It gives Nalbandian the time to pretend hes agassi.

  • I don't like him but Nalbandian is such an amazing player. He should be in one league with Federer and Nadal, but I think he don't care that much about his tennis career like them.

  • incredible this monster of striker hasn´ t won any grand slams :O

  • Nalbandian came real close to defeating Nadal this year as well......now why cant Mr Federer do this?

  • Errrr........Federer beat nadal at Madrid this year on clay

  • nalbandian was amazing in that part of the season dispatching to top players back to back

  • nadal knew he was out classed by nalby, wen nalby is on full flight, he will win nadal any day. wat makes nadal the better player now, and all this time then someone like nalby...is consistencyyyy.....feels so bad nalb tho, he derserves at least a grand slam with his talent.....

  • Nalby was quite simply unstoppable in this tournament.

  • Nalbandian was on FIRE

  • 2 of the best returners on tour

  • 5:11 Look at Nadal's face! He must feel really miserable right there.

  • Fo sho

  • well done to Nalbandian, i love is backhand swinging motion. the video seems very quiet, would've loved commentary. no Nadal shots? why not?
