@macneil5401 No, it was a .50 BMG. I think the rifle was a McMillan. The current record holder is an Accuracy International Arctic Warfare Magnum chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum. The .338 LM is really a superior cartridge to the .50 BMG for anti-personnel use.

Realistically, this rifle is the best mid to long range rifle. It can be used in many recon black ops missions or can be used as an assualt rifle in the city. The bullet casing will eject out of the rifle wether bolt-action or not, so if the choice is between this rifle or bolt-action I'd take this one. I could eliminate 10 insurgents in the time it would take to kill 3 or 4 with a bolt. Easy choice.

I would prefere a bolt action over semi, beacuse it is more accurate, you controle the shell going into the barrel and shell ejection, tuff as nails you can abuse it,and less moving parts so the bullet doesn't move or get jerked around, and you can put a night scope in front of a scope on a bolt action sniper rifle just like the semi. But each rifle has its own purpose. If your in a urban area and need to take out alot(I mean alot) of enemys I would use semi but any other sniper job bolt action.

another advantage you get from using a semi-auto sniper rifle is that you don't have to move as much so it's less likely the enemy will see you.

Not true. Semi autos will blast shells from the ejection port, creating a deadly reflection of light that could get you killed in a jiffy. With a bolt action you can gently take out each shell without letting them fly.
