Alabama 3 are just amazing, whether acoustic or electric. Can't wait to see 'em at Trowbridge and Glastonbury. Oh, and Rock Freebase is a guitar hero. Peace out!
Well, I think Larry does just fine at the acoustic gigs, which are more about getting the songs across than the preacher/pimp one man show. Personally I think the Dublin bootleg is shit, for a number of reasons, and no, we're not looking for a bass player. Goodbye.
Conceptualists are fired by the muse and thus by the divine genius.Guitarists on the main are driven by their gonads-You tell me which is superflous and replaceable?
The last time I saw Alabama 3 kick ass was at the Wickerman 2005-Everthing since has come over as so flaccid and lukewarm-'Minnie Mouse' just cant cut it live-She has no presence or a real voice at all.Oh,I get it-If you expunge Jakes 'radical'views, you might get acceptance from the 'man'...Some hope, dream on suckers...The promethean energies of the 'Bamas with Jake at the helm was what sold the deal from the first..Everything else is just parody, posture and apology. You aint foolin' us.
..Got it now Mark?..It was that magikal interplay and all the mad banter between Rob and Jake that made those performances so great...Dont believe me? Crack open a can of O.P.T.get those headphones on and load up 'Live in Dublin'...The finest bootleg ever spawned! I'm sure it might help to jog your memory!
I think you might find that guitarists also write a hell of a lot of the music. As far as conceptualists go, for this band, that is most definitely Larry. Anyway, this discussion is pointless, you are, of course entitled to your opinion, but because you lack so many facts about the workings of this band, most of what you've said is wildly inaccurate.
Interesting you should assume that I'm on Jake's payroll Rock...No,Jake doesnt need to pay me...All I know is that I have a keen appreciation of the mans abilities and worth to the overall energies of A3-If you want honest feedback from your listenership rather than steamrollering those you might see as being detractors ,listen up-If not, just carry on.Jake is a clever conceptualist,He once fronted a product which was once amusing and vital-All the thrills have gone.
cannot get ENOUGH of this band. I wish wish wish they would come to the states!!! I have every album, remix, bootleg, single...I LOVE LOVE LOVE this band!!!!!!!
Saw Alabama 3 acoustic in Liverpool Oct 06 was one of the best gigs I have ever been to, hearing some of the songs done acoustical puts a whole new slant on them and is probably the way they were written anyway.
highly doubtfull a3 is a harmogony of country and acid house, if u listen to the albume wire in the blood u will realise they just do each song in both styles.
Er, Rosie7000 and WeleaseWodewick, speaking as Alabama 3's guitarist, the acoustic version of the band stays as it is. Maybe you just don't get it, but no way is this a disgraceful performance.
this guy has left bad comments on loads of alabam 3 stuff. he was obviously having a bad day! the accoustic stuff is great. open your mind and your ears!
How on earth you can think this performance is disgraceful is beyond me. It's raw, energetic and has a great feel. You obviously just don't get the acoustic version of the band, like WeleaseWodewick; maybe you're both on Dwayne's payroll. Anyway, this version of the band stays as it is, I can say that as I'm the guitarist.
I'm confused-has Larry Love;s ego finally extinguished the finest band on planet earth? No humour-situationism taken a backseat-this really was one drab gig-give the guys a tin of O.P.T.each and send 'em back to rehab-Is this really the 'Bamas we once knew and loved? Rev.D.wayne Love-where the hell are ya?
Er, speaking as the band's guitarist, I'm afraid I have to say, if you don't like the acoustic version of the band...tough shit. It stays as it is...Why? Cos I say so.
what the fuck is this?? this isn't alabama 3!! that's some country wanna be shit...alabama 3 is a band in prison..
