second showing was by far better, fuckin absolutely immense both nights anyway, but just that bit more immense the second. Aphex Twin, what an absolute God
Both sets blew me away. Just the berth of dance music genres covered from acid and house through to jungle and gabba. Props for playing Talking Heads, Grandstand and Burial. Oh and when he dropped that Vital Ferox 'Sclerotica' tune on sunday... never seen people kick off at a festival like that. If people want to hear this tune search youtube for 'Stars Wars Chris Cunningham'.
It was all really really hectic, the beats were hard and evil. He really blew me away it was incredible. Every time a new dirty beat came in me and my friends were just jumpin up and down whooping. he really excelled himself. I have some clips which i'll also upload, mine are all over the place cos i was dancing but the sound quality is good and they are long too, check them out if you get time
Him playing the Grandstand theme tune was the highlight of my festival.
All the impatient Aphex fans could have shut up for Om when they played before him, I wish nothing but sickness, misery and misfortune on their ignorant souls.
in 6 years of coming to atp this was the most fun i've seen people have....and at 03.00 on the sunday night before everyone had to get up and leave by 10.00am.....blinding
Indeed it was the most I've ever danced. Got up at 8 the next morning to check out by 10. Not easy. Good to know it was the most fun you've seen people have at ATP, it was my first time there.
Btw nice one for posting! I keep seeing these pointless 30 second clips which really didn't do it justice. This one so far is the best BY FAR. I keep hoping someone will put up a nice 30 min section or something. Good to hear that sunday night was better as that was the night I saw him.
This blew my mind, such a great set, it was a relentless 2 hours of acid and industrial dance, I don't think I ever kept still and kept on dancing. When my mates ask 'what was he playing?' I just say 'loads of random stuff that was like a cross between his 26 mixes for cash album and his analord series. And this part REALLY took me by surprise.

i can;t say that i was thrilled by om's performance but i listened carefully.
the only problem was that it was really too loud, and people without earplugs were disturbed by the loudness, but they were alright.
