I know you've got all 6 vids up now, but I started with this one to see your process. Looks good from what I can tell. If you live nearby a 'Michael's', I recommend a hot wire cutter. About $10-20 (save a 40% off coupon usually attached to the receipt to purchase it) and will save your knives from hell.
Also, I recommend coming up with a shorter intro for most of your vids. I've got a 30 second one introducing my channel, but 5 or 6 seconds is good for an all encompassing intro. Keep it up!
Also... If you know how to do it, I would string together 'How-To' vids and things like that into a Playlist. It will help save hours (exaggeration) of headaches from your subscribers in trying to locate certain videos... especially if you get up to terrainaholic's vid count.
@DaemonWargaming Yeah I did try that once with one of my early series. I will have to see about lining up a few like that again. As far as the hot wire foam cutter, I have thought about it but I really don't make enough to justify the purchase just yet. I also like my intro and don't have any immediate plans to change it. Thanks for you input though man!
@TwoSmokingBolters Thanks for keeping up with me bro. As you know the last couple of weeks have been rather busy for so many of us including yourself. Its been hard finding time to put some projects and videos together.
@Generalsplatton Thanks for checking it out bud! I ran into a bump with the goop recipe last night so project got put on hold until I work out the details on that. lol
@MarneusAugustaCalgar Thanks! I do have some of the cool GW Terrain pieces ordered but wanted to do a little bit of hills and such with foam and see how they come out. These are definitely practice. I have some good pink foam waiting to be used but this stuff is dirt cheap to mess up for now. lol
Bummer that you didn't feel well over the holiday weekend...I've built a lot of work benches through the years and I have found that putting a skin of 1/8 hardboard (screwed not glued) to the top allows you to abuse it over time and easily and inexpensively replace it when needed...congrats on the growing subs...with your tutorials, I think you will see that continue to grow...Jim.
@Jedijim252 Thanks for checking in Jim! That is a great idea on the hardboard top for my workbench! I just might look into that before I end up completely destroying my current top. lol
Interested to see how the white foam turns out after painting. I tend to stay away from that stuff because it makes such a hideous mess, and I don't have a lot of luck painting it.
@terrainoob Yeah cutting it is a nightmare to clean up! I think with a good goop mix though the end product should come out decent. Unfortunately, my first attempt at the goop recipe failed last night. I am on the lookout for another recipe or where I can find silicone free caulking. lol
@vanhammer73 Thanks for checking out this new series I have going on Van! Yeah Steve is a great guy. I probably watched 50 of his vids the last couple of days and sent him a message asking some questions and he responded same day answering them and telling me to email him any time I had questions.
@VividAdventures2010 yea i use to tune into his tuesdays at 2 on blog tv but work kinda got me missing them anymore, not to sure if hes still doing em.. but for hes a good guy to chat with..
