Wall-e was an animation, but this one isn't remote controlled more than enemies from the 90'ties fps games. It's quite a simple code really. It just tracks the nearest object and begins drumming randomly on it. This technology has existed since before 2000.
lol.. i only code a little and only have a small knowledge when it comes to robot. by i know that there does exist distance sensor, so this robot is of cause not remote controlled. the navigation part of this robot, isent even that diffcult.
Do a little bit of research before you claim that it isn't difficult. Please. You have no clue what you are talking about.
I am a professional dealing with motion control systems all the time, and let me tell you, it's durn hard to make something as small as this thing behave properly.
I'm curious about the different drum beats. Does it randomly generate a select beat from already created beat? Or does it randomly hit certain beats and loops it?
you really should market this, you should make it like the robot vaccum cleaner, so when it runs low on batterys it can go charge it self back up, and make it able to change the beats whenever. id buy one
I know absolutely squat about robotics, but how about a built in algorithm that can analyse the beats it records for a few choice factors like sound quality and range of frequencies produced? It could save the ones that score highest to a mini hard drive for playback once it finds a different surface allowing for a greater variety of funky jamming.
He goes up to a surface play a tune then plays that tune back on the speakerthen addmore to the tune by playing with the play back, or it can play a sound then play to it

I still really want to know what song you overlaid on the video at 2:15?

@Treytor
That is just something I made myself as well :)

Nice beats! :)

You should take some beats, mix them together with music on top of them, and sell them commercially.
Because this is really cool stuff.

The robot is remotaly controlled.
The robot is very smart and good.
BUT... alot of people believe its a real robot moving about, such technolgy isen't avaible to great such a thing.
So the only way it's doing this?:
Remotaly controlled.
Before people say: 'wall-e is a robot and he has feeling!!!!'
The answer: No wall-e is not alive, he is an animation designed by artists, and programed by programmers, wall-e is animation.
But apart from tht nice robot

omg cant u see/hear it plays a beat n records it n thn plays different beat while playing the 1st recorded beat in a loop
god lol
T4CTIX 3 years ago
lol that doesnt answer his question.
is the beats programmed into the robot, or does it generate them?
but i think they are preprogrammed.
and T4CTIX, just because it plays diffrent beats, it dosnt mean that i can generate them, itself.
Perrep89 3 years ago
Does anyone know the answer to my question?
EliteBeast 3 years ago
@EliteBeast
Both, and can be programmed to either :)

This is absolutely brilliant.
If you ever marketed it, I would for sure buy it.

Very Cool bot ( suggestion )why don' you put sensors under the robot to prevent falling off of stuff
kylepittsley 3 years ago
Well.. Just never got to it :) It was a very fast project, I have others to build etc :) But thanks for the idea!

harddrive would be a very bad idea considering it moves around, flash memory would do the job better
fuhkingeh 3 years ago
I'm just the ideas guy, it's up to the engineers to make them work.
Now I'm off to the bar.
