If you have watched the series you should know that the stronget person in soul society automaticly becomes captain of the 11th squad and is given the name Kenpachi. That's why Zaraki is captain even though he can't use bankai :p

u guys think that soul society only puts limiters depending on your rank? if a 3rd seat, for example ikkaku, has more reiatsu than rangiku, dont u guys think its stupid not to put a limiter on ikkaku? Did you EVER seen the episodes ? Aizen doesn't use hypnotize to look strong, it is to can disturb your concentration, like when he fought with Konomamura (The dog captain, sorry dont know his name really), he looked beside Tousen but he was beside Konomamura.
In the filler, he used his zanpaktou to look like being in the Squad quarter with books or something, but he was far away and busy with hollowfication.
When he used his bankai, it do looks like a ice zanpaktou transformation, but it is just reiatsu wave or something. After that when he make it spin, then its just wind again, when it is full power then it is wind again ...

I don't know who is the strongest captain. But I do think they all have specialties. (example- Soi fon would be hand to hand). My favorite character is either Ikkaku or Shinji. But I don't like the fact that Ikkaku's bankai is lazy and needs waking up. If he didn't have time to wake it up he'd be screwed. Also, Toshiro's bankai has a power limit, Thats what the flower things are for. Everytime he uses a big move with Bankai he looses some of his power researve, (his flower things).
Ikkaku has not used his Bankai as frequently as he should be (as Iba points out), since he does not want anyone to know about it; because of this, the full extent of Ryūmon Hōzukimaru has yet to be seen.
Look, in gotei 13, 3 captains left and only shinigami who could learn bankai (or are strong enough like kenpachi) can become captains... Ikkaku don't want others to see his bankai because he don't want to be a captain, he wants to stay in kenpachis squad!
That's the only reason he don't use it in front of others (but there are some who know his bankai like Iba-san, Captain Komamura, Yumichika)
ok new info... in the anime episode 220, iba clearly said that the 7th squad captain's bankai (i forgot his name) was on a whole different level with ikkaku's which ikkaku himself agreed. this shows that ikkaku is definitely not on captain level and it also shows that ikkaku has not fully mastered his bankai...so there!

The Wolf Captain (also dont know his name) didn't know about Ikkaku's bankai, but to be honest, the wolf captain is probably stronger regardless. It is absolutely true though that (besides maybe Renji and members of squad zero, which next to nothing is known about) Ikkaku is THE strongest non-captain in the soul society.
On a side note, I think that the wolf captain and Soifon are two of the weakest captains.
The weakest ones are komamura(the wolf)and hitsugaya,he's still a kid,he as he said before,can't master is bankai to the fullest,he admitted it vs hallibel and he is innovating vs her...and the petals are a timer,vs grimjow's fraccion and now hallibell u can see that,his new attack did not kill hallibell i'm sure.He won't win against her,at least not alone,she's the 3rd espada she has to be WAY more than what we've seen
I don't think Komamora is the weakest, because we only see him in short battles. Plus we don't know how long or well he can fight in prolonged battles like Zaraki.
since komamura got raped with just a #90 spell before he could even notice i consider him the weakest alongside toushiro...no way is kommamura on the same level as the older caps(ukitake,shunsui,Unohana)or byakuya/mayuri...aizen is what we saw,vs ichimaru no way,vs tousen...i doubt he would win.i can only see him winning vs toushiro,and maybe soi fong,yet we dont know her bankai...vs zaraki is very doubtfull he would win so he's on my weakest list,with soi fong and hitsugaya
One as for the Rape of the Hado #90 dude its a level 90 kido of course it's pwning. Second Shunsui,Ukitake,Byakuya I'll give that to you since they are the most respected with their skills. Unohana..though one of the oldest, I might not consider her strong being a healer thought nothing wrong with that. An' finally Ichimaru/Tousen...you give those guys too much credit. Tousen is decent in battle.
Put things this way..the ultimate bad guy(aizen)easily dispels high level kidou from the captain of the kidou corps,byakuya countered kidou vs the 8th espada..but yeah it was fast and strong,for gin i'm not giving him to much credit,he killed a 3rd seat with 8-9 years,was labeled "more talented" than byakuya in the vaizard arc..he has yet to show bankai,aizen wouldnt let him just hang around,tousen is decent but is bankai is really good,he beat all the now vaizards with it(although by surprise)

Aizen isn't strong, he's just clever. His zanpaktou hypnotizes people into thinking things that aren't true and since he's already clever, he puts it to really good use.

lol. are you from this world? he is not strong. before he left for hueco mondo he used lvl 99 kidou skill which is really powerful and at episode 145 he brings grimmjow down to his knees just by using his reiatsu. and gimmjow is hella strong. its true he is clever cuz his sword has unique skill but if he wasnt strong he would not be the leader of arrancars. so if you dont think thats strong. idk what you thinking. you are prolly one of those guys who just supports one good guy in the show.

Did you EVER seen the episodes ? Aizen doesn't use hypnotize to look strong, it is to can disturb your concentration, like when he fought with Konomamura (The dog captain, sorry dont know his name really), he looked beside Tousen but he was beside Konomamura.
In the filler, he used his zanpaktou to look like being in the Squad quarter with books or something, but he was far away and busy with hollowfication.

Aizen never had ice zanpaktou, nor is he using any ice related Kidou ...
If you refer to when he fought Toushiro Hitsugaya, it was Hitsugaya's bankai that turned almost everything in ices.
If you refer to that Bleach Blade Battlers or whatever it is, they can change weapons from characters ...
By the way, Aizen has a kidou zanpaktou (or bakudou if you would prefer).
And i don't know why some says that he has ice powered zanpaktou, they are just not looking at the anime really....

When he used his bankai, it do looks like a ice zanpaktou transformation, but it is just reiatsu wave or something. After that when he make it spin, then its just wind again, when it is full power then it is wind again ...

I don't know who is the strongest captain. But I do think they all have specialties. (example- Soi fon would be hand to hand). My favorite character is either Ikkaku or Shinji. But I don't like the fact that Ikkaku's bankai is lazy and needs waking up. If he didn't have time to wake it up he'd be screwed. Also, Toshiro's bankai has a power limit, Thats what the flower things are for. Everytime he uses a big move with Bankai he looses some of his power researve, (his flower things).

Look, in gotei 13, 3 captains left and only shinigami who could learn bankai (or are strong enough like kenpachi) can become captains... Ikkaku don't want others to see his bankai because he don't want to be a captain, he wants to stay in kenpachis squad!
That's the only reason he don't use it in front of others (but there are some who know his bankai like Iba-san, Captain Komamura, Yumichika)

The Wolf Captain (also dont know his name) didn't know about Ikkaku's bankai, but to be honest, the wolf captain is probably stronger regardless. It is absolutely true though that (besides maybe Renji and members of squad zero, which next to nothing is known about) Ikkaku is THE strongest non-captain in the soul society.
On a side note, I think that the wolf captain and Soifon are two of the weakest captains.

The weakest ones are komamura(the wolf)and hitsugaya,he's still a kid,he as he said before,can't master is bankai to the fullest,he admitted it vs hallibel and he is innovating vs her...and the petals are a timer,vs grimjow's fraccion and now hallibell u can see that,his new attack did not kill hallibell i'm sure.He won't win against her,at least not alone,she's the 3rd espada she has to be WAY more than what we've seen

since komamura got raped with just a #90 spell before he could even notice i consider him the weakest alongside toushiro...no way is kommamura on the same level as the older caps(ukitake,shunsui,Unohana)or byakuya/mayuri...aizen is what we saw,vs ichimaru no way,vs tousen...i doubt he would win.i can only see him winning vs toushiro,and maybe soi fong,yet we dont know her bankai...vs zaraki is very doubtfull he would win so he's on my weakest list,with soi fong and hitsugaya

One as for the Rape of the Hado #90 dude its a level 90 kido of course it's pwning. Second Shunsui,Ukitake,Byakuya I'll give that to you since they are the most respected with their skills. Unohana..though one of the oldest, I might not consider her strong being a healer thought nothing wrong with that. An' finally Ichimaru/Tousen...you give those guys too much credit. Tousen is decent in battle.

Put things this way..the ultimate bad guy(aizen)easily dispels high level kidou from the captain of the kidou corps,byakuya countered kidou vs the 8th espada..but yeah it was fast and strong,for gin i'm not giving him to much credit,he killed a 3rd seat with 8-9 years,was labeled "more talented" than byakuya in the vaizard arc..he has yet to show bankai,aizen wouldnt let him just hang around,tousen is decent but is bankai is really good,he beat all the now vaizards with it(although by surprise)

Everytime Ikkaku has lost it has been because, he doesnt want to show off his bankai.
He knew Bankai back when he fought ichigo, and against Po, he just refused to use it.
Im guessing in the coming years he will perfect his Bankai, and eventually become a captain.
