you can link your hotmail email account to it or you can just use the browser to get your email. eihter way you need to have some sort of data plan for it. Blackberry has balckberry messenger to which if you both have one you can just you that to message each other.HOPE that helps...

Can someone help me I'm trying to figure out if I should get the black berry or not because for 1, I don't want to be on Contract I'm always out of town and when or if my bill comes I wont be able to pay for it. who the hell would want windows on their phone? it sucks bad enough on computers- what with stupid outlook email where you have to send and receive just to get email- with blackberry you just instantly get your email as they arrive....windows phones use their battery way more quickly and palm phones have to be reset all the time (not to mention the horrid palm desktop software) - naw, this phone is sweet, has all the features and very sexy (now if i can just get a few celebrities pins lol)
