Oh come on. I mean when you look at those ship battles you have to weep at the majestic beauty of it all. Those Galaxy Class Federation ships cruising over in tandem to take out a Cardassian ship. Those Klingon Birds of Prey coming down with the star brilliantly behind them. No other Star Trek series matched this kind of direction. It was poetry in motion.

on the acting point of view putting Jean-Luc in the picture would take the focus away from Sisko since the show was about him and his crew, not necessarily Picard and the enterprise. We just assume that he is their doing his part in another area. and knowing that the Enterprise was the flag ship the federation is not going to put the enterprise on the front line, also Picard the impotent job of holding everyone together.

Great Trailer, after seeing this I really think about to buy the DVD Box, I loved DS9, imho the best Star Trek series. But one question: Why did you cut in some scenes from the first contact ?
So I thought while still watching the 1st season of DS9(in chronoligical order, so TNG 6st season at the same time, I LOVE chronology), but as the seasons went(now on late 4th season), I see where Picard is a starship captain, Sisko is the one to stay, even more serious than Picard and the Borg.
As was once said, Picard is the explorer, but Sisko the builder, the one to stay and finish the job...
I like both, but Sisko has something more in him I can't explain...
Picard is awesome, he's a veteran commander and warrior in the finest naval traditions, but Sisko has something more to him.
I think Sisko, even more than the swashbuckling Kirk, has the Hero Gene. He questions his own morality at times, but does what needs to be done. He's on the front lines with his troops when he needs to be, and he has both his friendly, civilian side as well as his commanding side.
I think that's a dimension Picard lacks and makes the difference.
@Lodatzor IMHO Sisko is a Father while Picard is a Father Figure. Picard has often cited that he is uncomfortable with children (although he worked on it throughout the series) Which sets up a different dynamic in their respective command styles.
I don't mind, there enough footage here to make a full feature. Although the music could be more original. and now with better CGI than when they made it, it will definitely look better

Hmmmm..... the Federation is on the verge of loosing the war, but they don't reverse engineer the cloak. Not smart. Plus, why do they put their ships so close together. That is why they are always running into eachother! If i was a star fleet commander and the enemy fleets were that close together; I would NUKE, NUKE, NUKE the bastards till there was nothing left. A little 21st century tech for all of them!

I'm in the military, it's not smart to keep your assets that close together. But I understand for the sake of they show why they might had needed to do it, but in the real world they would be much farther apart.
even a warp core explosion won't destroy a nearby ships which have shields. (in generations the saucer survives the nearby warp core breach of the engines section). a warp core torpedo would be too expensive to use as a weapon. and not effective enough to be worth it
I can accept this answer. Another reason the Star Trek designers or other Sci-Fi guys don't use wmds that much is because they are terrible for plot developments, they're too powerful and kill too much. And again, it is after all just an outstanding tv series, not real life.
The Federation could build a cloak for all their ships in a few weeks. It's just that they're bound to the terms of the Treaty of Algeron which prohibited the Federation from developing cloaking technology.
The agreement allows the Defiant to use the cloak only in the Gamma quadrant (though they obviously used it in the alpha quadrant several times).
Now, if they use the precedent that they can only use it in another quadrant, Voyager could have used a cloak while in the Delta Quadrant. I am actually pretty surprised Janeway never had one developed. Not like the Romulans could enforce anything about that anyway since they probably didn't even know about Voyager until the Prometheus episode.
You would think the flagship of the federation might have had an active hand in such a huge war, maybe if i just use my imagination and pretend i can see it in some of the battles, everything will be ok

a regular nuke probably won't do much damage to shields. photon torpedo and phasers are specifically designed to damage shields and hull armor

I saw this other trailer using Mar Alaimo's voice (guy who pleays Gul Dukat) in his other Cardassian role on TNG. He says "CPT Picard, because your actions are those of a reasonable man..." etc.
The Cardies looked different in there tho. They had sideburns and brown uniforms.
