@zed254924 Not true, the first people in Jamaica were the Arawaks and the Tainos from s.america and were only referred to as Indians cos a) columbus thought he was in the indies and b) europeans tended to call anyone that wasnt european, oriental or african an indian by default. The Arawaks were mostly wiped out by columbus but the Tainos were still there when the british settled, it was them and the escaped slaves who are now referred to as Maroons and live in the hills.
