@urburning ok i'm an egyptian muslim and no one in my family wears the abaya or the burka

i live in egypt and many women wear hijab, but not a lot wear abaya so therefore they RARELY wear the burka... burka is mostly worn in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. You obviously don't live in egypt because if you did then you'd know what i'm talking about.

Plus most women are not forced to wear the abaya they do it because they want to, but very few are forced to do it by the male family.

This woman in not fat; the vast majority of real belly dancers are not the skinny Mini types anyway. Belly dance was/is a way for women to celebrate their femininity. It has nothing to do with your size. A woman is a woman regardless of her girth or lack thereof.

I believe most arab girls can belly dance as its part of their culture... however not all of them are belly dancers. what is deemed as appropriate belly dancing differes from one arab country to the next. I think we the english especially us english women we arent exactly in a position to judge. We aren't exactly known for our dancing...lol lets be honest! not everyone is a good dancer though that much is true but that applies to everyone and everywhere.
