lol the only state from in my knowledge that doesn't have those easy "cone" drivers test in a empty parking is NYC. The drivers test is usually in a very busy intersection.
Yeah its a shame that North America doesn't do advanced driver training like in other countries such as Finland, Italia and Germany where all the great drivers come from. In USA if you want to be a champ you pretty much got to start in karting when you're around 8 years old.

@irishboxer92 Im aware of them but they are privateized and overpriced because so few are around, such as BMW Advanced drivers training in Toronto. If there were more around and it was government mandated, the cost would be significantly less. Look how problematic accidents are on the highway, how much they back up traffic and how often they happen. Some of these other countries dont even get weather as bad as here (Canada) and nothern states. I just think there is alot more they should do.

@juechter Yup I actually did smart one, I don't look at specs unless I look at the full details on the vehicle. You car may be lighter but guess what, its still a SOHC. I've driven the Type S and the Camaro and the Camaro would easily beat the Type S.
@pepene93 if you watched the type S review on youtube they will tell you how quick it is. and if you search Acura tl 0-60 times they will say the times i listed. I even tried it in my 04 TL and it did it in 6.2 with bad shifting a good shifter would definitely have done it faster. keep in mind mine is the 3.2L the 3.5 or Type S is a lot quicker

@bonnhew the acura weights quite a bit less than a camaro and especially less than a charger. thats more than likely the reason, not the engine, if you look at the numbers the camaro's v6 has significantly more power and torque. I'm not too keen on the charger numbers though so I can't speak for them. Anyone I have seen flying around in a v6 camaro though seems to think they are the coolest things ever. I have taken my truck to an oval. I've lowered the suspension and made it tight. It handled quite well. I myself was surprised at the handling of it.

@yankeessuck309 There's a lot you can do. I went the somewhat cheaper way. I got a lowering springs that were thicker and stiffer. And Same with the shocks. Just shorter and stiffer haha. I have heard of coil over kits though. I considered but the weren't in my budget.

It's fast as hell on a freeway though, and probably still gets 25mpg. so thats a sweet car to me. Driveable, comfortable etc, but can move when you want it too.

@lonematt1111 I haven't lost any money yet this is what I've been trying to explain. I sold the rotary engine and transmission for 1500. I bought a truck for 700 with a 5.7 and 50,000 miles and a turbo 350 trans. I scrapped the rest of the truck and got 440. I used that about 400 to buy my cradle and mounts. I spent about 86 having a drive shaft made and 100 for gages. I used the speedo cable from the truck. Not a dime out of my pocket yet.

@Bigboomer yea thats it. 100-200 lbs more. I did it because the rotary costs too much damn money for basic parts. Plus the horrible gas mileage, on top of crap for emissions. Chevy 350 you can't go wrong. I've been building them since I was 14. Cheap on parts, and so easy to get more power out of for less money. No diss on the rotary whatsoever I love it. Maybe some day when I have the money I'll buy another, but for right now, I really wanted to keep my car.
@musclekid13 well a chevy 350 will get about the same gas milage as a rotary... also btw for the total cost of your engine swap you can just turbo swap the rotary and make 400+... o and by far the rotary is much easier to rebuild then a piston engine...
@Tj1056 You have no idea what you're talking about. My engine did not cost me a whole lot to make. The 13B comes stock with around 145 HP, the turbo II about 160HP. Won't even come close to making t400+ with just a turbo swap. I would have to pay some to do a big bridgeport, and where I'm from, no one builds rotary engines. You can't do a turbo swap on a normal 13B or for as much as I spent on the V8. V8 will always be cheaper. I sold the 13B for 850. I bought a V8 and built it using that money
@musclekid13 bahaha... stock ports 13b can make 550whp on a gt35r and that is on max psi for the turbo (this was on a fd3s)... they have a twin turbo swap (mind this that its the same swap as for the nissan GTR P800) to make 600whp on stock ports... you can get a cheap engine for under a grand yes... but those are crap and will crap out with more boost... you also have to put in account for fabrications and sub frames to fit that v8 in... so your swap would cost about 2k and I can get a 35r
@Tj1056 I have all the parts ready to go. So far the swap has only been 1200. So once again you don't know what you're talking about. See but like I mentioned I am on a very tight budget. So I didn't have more than 850 to start with when I started this project last week. Cheap engine? not really. Four bolt main. Steel block, aluminum heads, aluminum intake. Its not cheap. It creates awesome torque.

@supersmashist Know the "part" i got was a whole 5.7 350 and TH350 transmission. I figured out the problem with that motor anyway. MAF sensor was shot. I explained that in the description if you read it. Anyway the car now has a v8 in it and Its putting out close to 400. I only spent 1000 to do it. If you knew anything, its kinda hard to find performance parts in a junkyard anyway. You might be lucky to find headers or a dinky stalk T2 turbo.

I am an automotive tech so no, Im not your typical youtuber, and I work for AutoDriveAway as a contact in Cincy, so again, yeah its my life and my job.

What we do is find people who are moving, going to college, buying cars from other states, etc. Then we find someone who may be looking for vacation transportation, wants to drive across the country, or maybe even go to see his in-laws, etc. Then we give the keys to person A's car to person B so they can drive it to wherever person A wants it and use it for the drive. We actually don't do anything with the cars, just logistics

@pepene93 if you watched the type S review on youtube they will tell you how quick it is. and if you search Acura tl 0-60 times they will say the times i listed. I even tried it in my 04 TL and it did it in 6.2 with bad shifting a good shifter would definitely have done it faster. keep in mind mine is the 3.2L the 3.5 or Type S is a lot quicker

@bonnhew the acura weights quite a bit less than a camaro and especially less than a charger. thats more than likely the reason, not the engine, if you look at the numbers the camaro's v6 has significantly more power and torque. I'm not too keen on the charger numbers though so I can't speak for them. Anyone I have seen flying around in a v6 camaro though seems to think they are the coolest things ever. One guy said he could smoke my v8 with his v6. . . what an idiot haha

@yankeessuck309 There's a lot you can do. I went the somewhat cheaper way. I got a lowering springs that were thicker and stiffer. And Same with the shocks. Just shorter and stiffer haha. I have heard of coil over kits though. I considered but the weren't in my budget.

@musclekid13 Yeah but the thing is, its NOT, "that much money." The one for sale right now I'm looking at is 15000 with the brembos etc, dyno'd just short of 400whp... runs 13s with shitty tires. It's fast as hell on a freeway though, and probably still gets 25mpg. so thats a sweet car to me. Driveable, comfortable etc, but can move when you want it too.

@lonematt1111 I haven't lost any money yet this is what I've been trying to explain. I sold the rotary engine and transmission for 1500. I bought a truck for 700 with a 5.7 and 50,000 miles and a turbo 350 trans. I scrapped the rest of the truck and got 440. I used that about 400 to buy my cradle and mounts. I spent about 86 having a drive shaft made and 100 for gages. I used the speedo cable from the truck. Not a dime out of my pocket yet.

@Bigboomer yea thats it. 100-200 lbs more. I did it because the rotary costs too much damn money for basic parts. Plus the horrible gas mileage, on top of crap for emissions. Chevy 350 you can't go wrong. I've been building them since I was 14. Cheap on parts, and so easy to get more power out of for less money. No diss on the rotary whatsoever I love it. Maybe some day when I have the money I'll buy another, but for right now, I really wanted to keep my car.

@Tj1056 You have no idea what you're talking about. My engine did not cost me a whole lot to make. The 13B comes stock with around 145 HP, the turbo II about 160HP. Won't even come close to making t400+ with just a turbo swap. I would have to pay some to do a big bridgeport, and where I'm from, no one builds rotary engines. You can't do a turbo swap on a normal 13B or for as much as I spent on the V8. V8 will always be cheaper. I sold the 13B for 850. I bought a V8 and built it using that money

@musclekid13 bahaha... stock ports 13b can make 550whp on a gt35r and that is on max psi for the turbo (this was on a fd3s)... they have a twin turbo swap (mind this that its the same swap as for the nissan GTR P800) to make 600whp on stock ports... you can get a cheap engine for under a grand yes... but those are crap and will crap out with more boost... you also have to put in account for fabrications and sub frames to fit that v8 in... so your swap would cost about 2k and I can get a 35r

So I didn't have more than 850 to start with when I started this project last week. Cheap engine? not really. Four bolt main. Steel block, aluminum heads, aluminum intake. Its not cheap. It creates awesome torque.

@supersmashist Know the "part" i got was a whole 5.7 350 and TH350 transmission. I figured out the problem with that motor anyway. MAF sensor was shot. I explained that in the description if you read it. Anyway the car now has a v8 in it and Its putting out close to 400. I only spent 1000 to do it. If you knew anything, its kinda hard to find performance parts in a junkyard anyway. You might be lucky to find headers or a dinky stalk T2 turbo.

FWD doesnt hook up as well as RWD, and RWD doesnt hook up as well as AWD. I used to have a FWD car with ~410whp after a supercharger, exhaust, and internals. Got smart and went AWD. What we do is find people who are moving, going to college, buying cars from other states, etc. Then we find someone who may be looking for vacation transportation, wants to drive across the country, or maybe even go to see his in-laws, etc. Then we give the keys to person A's car to person B so they can drive it to wherever person A wants it and use it for the drive. We actually don't do anything with the cars, just logistics

And no one gives a shit about your crappy cobalt, we were talking about this TL. Obviously you have never actually driven one of these, and I dont mean to the market. I drive cars for a living so Im exposed to a wide range of performance cars and economy puddle jumpers. Take one of these through a chicane @ 45mph, you'll hit both the incoming and outgoing walls.

Those TLs are fairly quick for how large they are and for only being a FWD vehicle. But get them on some S-turns and that things ass really swings.
