  • mannn....they still use the same shit from the 1970's....buses,cars,traffic,everything

  • I'd love to see that same footage done at night. I assume that due to power shortages and curfews I bet it would look even more post-apocalyptic.

  • 개성시 같아

  • North Korea is Best Korea!

  • traffic cops at every intersection... inefficiency at its finest

  • @tlukmanj The traffic girls were replaced with traffic lights across Pyongyang in 2010. They still surveil the intersections though, altough from a street corner and not the middle of the road.

  • The N.Koreans are trying to emulate the same grandeous, powerful look that existed in the USSR in the 1970's, only problem is they cannot afford it due to the enormous difference in the economies, geographic size and availability of resources.

  • Holy Cow. Big and Intimidating building, nobody probably lives in them either...

    Seems Hollow and dead.

  • its seems that drivers dont really care about those traffic cops

  • Petitsammy, I know that North Korea has restrictions on certain camera lenses. In addition, the guides also dictate where you can film things. Are you allowed to film anywhere in Pyongyang since it's a showcase city?

  • Lol at the part "an empty lifeless city with zombie people". You find me a city with zombie people and I will personally go and meet them, just to say hello!

But seriously... Don't judge a country's goodness or badness by media. Plus, since when just because the government isn't the best to what you were taught in school, makes ALL the people in the country "lifeless" and "zombie"?

If you go there and THEN you decide it's really full of zombies, lol, then you have the rights to criticize.

  • DDDEEEEEEPPPPP u been there?

  • How were you able to get in there?

  • by plane on my way to. Return by train.

  • No I mean how you were able to get into North Korea by passing all the government restrictions.

  • which restrictions are you referring to ??

Even US citizens can go at some period of the year. Just need a passport and a visa.

  • Heard there's travel restrictions to North Korea. Kind of like what the US has for Cuba. Then again if you can go there at some period of the year, when is that?

  • Well he's not from US because you can't return to US from North Korea by train...

  • @petitsammy2345 yea so how did u get the visa?

  • I hope that north and south korea reunite very soon, so that we can invest a lot of money and buy cheap properties and use the cheap workforce to make money.

  • Its a wonderful city. God bless happy people. They are living in such a wonderful place. There are no Neger(black people) and it's so peacefu. It's the most peaceful place on earth ever !

  • Go fuck yourself, you Racist piece of shit.

  • I don't see any Lada, Moskvich, Chaika or Trabant cars here.

  • Because at the time of these eastern cars there wasn't any private car in North Korea.

  • that's true.

  • who need traffic lights, if u can put in the middle of the street scared local slave....

  • thats not true though. those "traffic ladies" gets paid just about the highest out of all the jobs in north korea. ppl actually compete for those jobs. anyways lol with traffic like this they really don't need traffic lights.

  • interesting video - thanks for the upload. My prediction - just like east and west Germany were eventually reunited, the same will happen to the north and south Korea and sooner than most expect

  • It's unreal. The beauty is a facade, and certainly empty. What's striking in these videos is the absence of color and movement, and of course people. The city is so large and pointless compared to its human dimensions.

  • Why you people think that the korean people are always unhappy or something.

I mean Pjongjang looks like any other city in eastern Europe or even in USA just cleaner.

And for thos lil´ kds outthere I´ve been there so I know what I´m talking about.

And for your information I hate communism I just lived there for 2 month.

  • people looks verry poor, terrorised by the gestapo's agents, and looks starving too.

  • RnGSamuray,

Pyongyang is "clean" because noone lives there, save for the tour guides for "Great Leader's" many museum's. Meanwhile, 99% of the country is starving OUTSIDE of this FACADE Capital.

But of course, you already know this RnG. Nice try.

  • there are so few cars due to two things:

    1) very few north koreans can afford to buy one, even

old soviet made ladas seem expensive.

    2) even if everybody had a car, there wouldn't be enough fuel to

run them due to fuel shortages. the shortages are so bad, sometimes

    even trains cannot run.

  • Yyeah caddy69 your right. Somehow after watchin this I won't moan by the fact Im drivin a Nissan Micra again.

  • why are there so few cars

  • Very nice video. Smooth and frontal in view.

  • North Korea is a very strange place and for Pyongyang we can say allegorically that is the capital of illogical and absurd. It's beautiful, somehow I like it, but is scary too... the atmosphere appears so heavy, it looks like another planet or something, very alien. I think that the North Koreans are the most unhappy and sad people on earth. It's indeed a sad misery.

  • @inferniangoddess To be honest i dont think they're sad - being told that they live in the best country in the world i bet they THINK they are rich and it makes them happy. At least they're not allowed to be "unhappy" must feel so fake

  • @inferniangoddess its sad how one man can brainwash a whole population and its sad to know that North and South is separated not by oceans and landmasses but by political ideology symbolized by the DMZ

  • Ahernandez50, in another video, they talk about the traffic cops. They are there because due to the unreliability of electricity there, they don't use the traffic lights, instead they use the traffic cops

  • that's Orwell's 1984 : clean, law, order, a people of robots...

  • You are totally right. It's scary, that people are completely brainwashed.

  • What are the traffic cops for? They look more bored than me at school.

  • for me this is more astonishing than the pics from Mars...and suprisingly, people are really living there!

  • Clean and tidy city. Law and order. Seoul looks like a fucking debacle compared to this place... Kim isn't all that bad...

  • @Titanic02h20 Kim is an evil tyrant that can build beatiful buildings and showcase grand parades, but cant feed his own people! North Koreans actually refer to him as their "Dear Leader" You must not be that educated about North Korea

  • south and north 2 totally different places...it gets worse further out in nkr you go = (

  • ultradumbass i agree, pretty scary

  • feels like looking into a ghost town of brainwahsed people with no sort of emotions

  • wow... the athmosphere is just so scary.. it is like a real nightmare

  • wow..
