The old ways of chivalry...long lost to the modern world...but still retained in small pockets, in a few hearts that still believe in valor, honor, and strength over evil. Those who believe evil does exist, and seek only to undo it's gains on our mortal coil.
I will not kill Dragons for monetary gain...as it becomes futile..a dragon has humility and honor.. FUS RO DAH.. and all things are pushed away with no effort...I want the wisdom of Paarthurnax.. he who has on the mountain forever.. Alduin was a death to quick..they sell their elder scrolls with greed and turmoil... .... or maybe i take it to serious... Cloud is dragonborn not me...
his heart knows only virtue.. i wish i could be like that. humility is hard to learn.. killing is easy..what is the strength above that? I will defend the helpless...it reminds me of cloud from FF7
a dragon friend of mine will never be sold on the elder scrolls... he does not stoop himself so low... he seeks virtue and courage.....and it will not be commercialized for one second
@Impactoftreason Your might upholds the weak.........................not wicked.............it's his wrath undoes the wicked, which would make more sense!
i cant be virtuous in this society.... Ive tried it...its a money thing. OMG we have people holding signs for businesses.. what have we come too... be steadfast and strong im not a warrior but if you are a warrior ..you should kick ass for good things...
I wish I could be like that in todays society...I couldnt be a fighter for my country...it is so corrupt...i think someday there will be a man that is intelligent but it wont be for money or material gain...and his sword will be for good.. to mister muslim man... you can kill all you want... but is better to live and be that ... be a knight..but have discretion...
"All my life Ive dreamed serving noble kings, noble ideals, dreams die hard and you hold them in your hands long after they've turned to dust." --how true, another guild crumbles and I am alone due to the human condition, people always tend to mess up a good thing. Camelot always seems further away for me. So hence this is very true. with this Knights Prayer, I continue my journey. alone. good scene. ty for posting it still.
The last seconds of this clip always make me smile (Draco using his wing to shelter Bowen from the rain). The friendship in this story is so heartwarming... "DragonHeart" will always have a special place in my heart. <3
People and critics get on Randy Quaid, but for an actor whose talent is ill-suited for this kind of role, he put in a darn good effort. I'd rather see a mediocre actor try his best than a haughty superstar "phone-it-in". I see that too often in movies these days.
I'm a girl, age 17, and I am in LOVE with this movie. When I was little, my brother and I would constantly ask our mom to rent it. We rented it so many times, I don't know why we didn't just buy it! Whenever I say: "My favourite movie is Dragonheart" people go: "what?!" As if they never heard of it! This movie is so emotional, heartwarming, the story is so original, fantastic and rare as Draco himself! This movie initiated my infatuation with dragons.
@The1sillygirly Yeah! Virtual High-5!! <3 I can't believe this movie isn't on Youtube! Argh! The good movies usually aren't :/ When I was little I thought Draco looked so real. When I got a little older I realized how advanced and phenomenal the CGI was for that time! And to this day, the CGI still amazes me. In it's time Dragonheart was like Avatar in terms of the phenomenal CGI. Haha, Sean Connery will always remind me of Draco lol! Love that guy's voice! <3 <3 :)
@nddlj I'm glad you like it, it's rare to see a girl to even hear about this moive, most of the time all I hear from them is either paris hilton or some famous celeb or whatever is hot topic subject
@Through011 The thing is, I'm still sorta girly. I have the biggest crush on Gerard Butler, I like to have wavy hair, i shop at H&M. My bedroom is like a picture off an IKEA catalogue. But Dragonheart OMG. It's half my childhood. The tune of 'To The Stars' remained engraved in my mind even YEARS after I stopped watching the movie as a kid. I even learned to play it by ear on the piano!
Lol, whenever I see Sean Conner I'm like DRACO! And people are like... who? Ahaha I love it!!
people say that they want one but scientist would take and experiment on it sadley this is why ha;f the animal population is endangered danm u science
Dragons.... mythical creatures that may or may not exist..... I just want one, a one with skin.... that breaths fire... and... I know this is silly, but a dragon that also lets me fly with it. I want a dragon for a friend badly
i have not forgotten, i see and know the oath again. i say it again and again. it keeps me safe when the night comes...i can kneel again and have worth. A! listen deep to these words....you know thats how i am deep down.
i have not forgotten, i see and know the oath again. i say it again and again. it keeps me safe when the night comes...i can kneel again and have worth. A! listen deep to these words....you know thats how i am deep down.
@11alualhati I think that dragons are real. I think we just can't see them anymore, because we as humans stopped believing in magic. But they're real, and even if they aren't they are real in our hearts.
And the voice of King Arthur? Of course the late, great Sir John Gielgud - one of the most beautiful voices in the world, a great Shakespearean actor and a true knight and gentleman.
Does anyone know what track on the movie soundtrack is the music for this scene, its not the 'flight to avalon' b/c that was before on their way to Avalon. If anyone knows please inform me. Its my fav. scene and fav. music to the movie.
I have the collector's edition---during the "ReBaptism"/Oath scene the director speaks (on the DVD) of how.. "Is this really the ghost of Arther speaking to Bowen..or is is Draco behind the rocks using his powers?"
Damn i love this movie, too bad the CGI of his son in the sequel is lame as hell. This one really made me cry in the end :'(
The other thing, this is britain in the mideaval ages, and some of the actors speak with american accent, and that accent didn't even excist back then :S
You say that yet there are looks of british actors in greek type films and i very much doubt they spoke with a british accent. Also people today speak different to how they would back then so we dont even know what kind of accent they had.
Creator of this oath? Go look up Charlemagne! This a shorter version of the oath he required his knights and lords to swear. My ancestors among them. The oath is nearly 1,300 years old my friend. Might be older, because Charlemagne is the first person known to have written it down.
Didnt know that. I always thought that those gloriouse things were just some kind of rumor. Thought that those medievil ages didnt really rely on nobel thoughts.
It did. The Dark Ages ended with Charlemagne, and the Middles Ages was the true birth of chivalry. But it is guessed honorific codes go back thousands of years. I know the Trojans swore to a code of conduct, as did the Spartans, the Romans, the Minoans, far far back. ^_^
too bad knights in the dark ages where mere groups of bandits who worked for the rich land owners that terrorized the poor class and over taxed them.

The one who wrote the storyboard, or the one creator of this oath has really some feeling to the spirit of such movies.
