Later the name of this french cheese inspired scientifics to name Serac icefall particularities .... here it's from wikipedia... "Seracs are found within an icefall, often in large numbers, or on ice faces on the lower edge of a hanging glacier ..."
So i don't know what the bands mean here... if it's the cheese or the icefall thing... anyway it's white stuff
