  • Killer drum riff 3:39 -3:41

  • Where can I get a pair of those X-ray specs?

  • Eric hit #23 in Billboard, 11-5-77. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Shout out to you, Les Rinehart!

  • Andrew Gold on guitar and drums. RIP

  • @vzlanod the drums were played by Jeff Porcaro from TOTO

  • @huertamj128 And what a master of the drums he was too. Toto and the music world still miss him.

  • Some of the Beach Boys are singing in the background

  • Opening riff owes a debt to Neil Sedaka's Love Will Keep Us together, made into a #1 hit two years before by The Captain and Tenille.

  • I don't remember this song at all.

  • This song reached #6 on superstation WLS weekly radio survey in Chicago. They also ranked it as the 56th biggest hit of 1977.

  • this is the song i chose to ring in the new year with! love eric carmen and happy new year to everyone!!!!

  • @NotEvenClosex3 thank you I also whish you a enjoyable and happy new year 2011

  • very beach boys sounding

  • @inkey2 -- well yeah do ya think? He's got them singing back-up! This song has been called "the greatest Beach Boys song Brian Wilson never wrote!"

  • May YouTube prolong the longevity of this song if not this artist for future generations to enjoy and the past generation to revere for the days of nostalgia. Man I am getting old. These words may be read by all one day when I no longer exist in this reality but this song will carry on. Enjoy it all..........

  • i love this song thanks for posting this

  • I rermember hearing Casey Kasem on the billboard top 40 on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning praising this song during the countdown, hearing it on AM radio all those years ago, wow they were the days. It wasn't just the songs but the way they were presented, it made you feel alive and this song was one of those songs that did it for me, hope it did it for you too..

  • i think this song is cool..

  • it should have charted better with America's Band doing the background vocals

  • From Eric Carmen's 1977 Album" Boats Against The Current ". Besides Releasing this Album Eric was Big on The Music Charts. When Shaun Cassidy Recorded 2 of Eric's Songs 'That's Rock n' Roll and Hey Deanie which were Hits.

  • A nod to Sir Brian Wilson...

  • super 80s lol!!!!11but cool

  • @MissAllAboutMe101 -- "She Did It" by Eric Carmen is from 1977.

  • love this guy great songs

  • love this guy awsome song

  • This is my favorite Carmen song.Unfortunately, most radio stations don't carry it.

  • awsome job, annick 1953~~ love the memorabilia along with this 70s song!!! 5 stars!

  • Holy cow......this brings back memories. I had a GF named Cheryl when I was 17 and she was 16. She gave me a BJ and this song was playing on the car radio and when she was done as she wiped her chin she looked at me and said........she did it oh yea. Honest no kidding..not making it up. It was cute.

  • I just discoivered it! I just discovered Eric Carmen never mind the one song.

Now I hear so many favourites from him, and regret I wasted my adolescence on David Cassidy. (Just kidding).

After years, I'm finally realizing just how great the music of my, ahen, youth was, and actually appreciating his voice technique, composing adeptness and intelligence.

Get back here young man and bring out what you've got up your sleeve! I wanna hear it from your lips.

  • fell in love with this song when it came out and i still love it, thanks for posting

  • @witchmar such a great song!

  • (:)-----}

  • On Cashbox it got up to #15. You can hear 2 of the Beach Boys on the chorus. Andrew Gold plays guitar, & drumming is by Jeff Porcaro (Toto).

  • wow!! groovy song ,,,,,xxbabsie

  • In 1977, Eric Carmen's music took on a different direction than that from two years earlier. Eric revealed a more soulful side to himself when recording, "She Did It." It was a sound not found in his two previous contemporary ballads, "All By Myself," and "Never Gonna Fall In Love Again." Although the soulful sensation, "She Did It" did not fare as well at #23 as Carmen's two previous hits, it will still be revered as perhaps the most underrated and underappreciated song from "1977."

  • @70sPopRock Gee thanks for the biography there, chum.

  • @70sPopRock -- #15 on the Cash Box chart.

  • @70sPopRock Really? It sounds to me like he was returning to his original sounds from his Raspberry days. I thought "Never gonna fall in love again" and "All by myself" were more soulful. But, what do I know?

  • @70sPopRock i have always loved this song

  • @davadlee Amazing you still remember it. Many of those I know have never heard it before.

There was once a time and a place for Pop music in America.

And ohhh Lord was there a time.

  • @70sPopRock yeh im a 70s music freak she did it wasnt a hit in australia but i used to listen to casey kasem in the 70s coming through sydney 2uw every sunday night so i know american music very well and have a huge collection of vinyl, and cds

  • @70sPopRock I agree, I think it was underrated. As for me, it was the one I bought on 45 (vinyl). I liked ABM and NGFILA, but She Did It was my favorite and since I wanted to hear it over and over I bought the single on 45.

  • Awesome song! It reached #23 in 1977. Cool pics too. This is my favorite hit by Eric Carmen -- Thanks so much for posting...
