Gutter Helmet does work as long as it is properly installed. Check to see how long your local dealer has been instaling them before buying them.That should hold true for any gutter protection product.

Gutter Helmet is bullshit. I had a salesman out to my parents' house and ended up kicking him off the property. Gutter Helmets' only goal is to get money out of retired people with some bullshit garauntee they never back up. And the product DOESN'T WORK. Your gutters will still clog, and when they do, it's now TWICE the pain in the ass to get them clean. Pushy salesmen, lame installers, no product garauntee. You're better off wiping your ass with a cheesburger.
@TheOldGunslinger They got my dad , swindling bastards told us that the only places we "might see ice and icicles would be where we had them before and from what we described heater cord was UNNECESSARY" .... we had them in one spot before where the gutter needed to be re-spiked.... Now it's a damn wall of icicles end to end. and they want $3000 to install some special heater tape that works with their system!
I suspect this is incorrectly installed. for the extra money you spent for this name brand. They should come out and rebend the panels to match the roofs pitch. Sorry for your luck, but you by from gutter helmet, you are buying from a sales man. Next time , stick with the local professional who come by referal.

the problem here, is that the pitch on the roof accelerates the water WAY TOO FAST for the water to use the viscosity principle to get the water to curl into the gutter..Because of the speed, the water travels TANGENT to the CURVE and goes right over the edge.
Moving the edge of the helmet shield to to align closer to the gutter mouth/opening, allows the water to still come off the top of the helmet at its tangent, but it now lines up with the gutter and not past or over the edge of the gutter.
I've had Gutter Helmet on my home for more than 10 years without any problems. It works perfectly, no overflows. Works well in winter during snow and keeps leaves out all year round. I imagine that if other Gutter Helmet installations don't work properly, then the installer must have done something wrong. I think the Gutter Helmet product is a very good one.
I own a business and Gutter Helmet sent us a sample kit of their product, asking us to invest in it and I noticed the same problem when I ran water from my sink over the display unit, it drips down and the unit wasn't catching it. I found another product that works a lot better for a lot less.
This is the underside of my gutter, viewed from the sliding glass doors... The Gutters were replaced and had Gutter Helmet installed to keep leaves and debris out of the gutters...
It also seems to keep the RAIN out of the gutter too...
Wait until winter, if you live where it freezes, those streams of water become icicles. Part of their sales pitch is that their product keeps ice out of your gutters, WHAT?!? that is where U want the ice (rain & snow too of course), in the gutter, not on your head. So - just as a follow up;
1. almost 7 phone calls
2. 4 actual conversations
3. 1 trip of the people to the house
4. 20 minute conversation with the installer/repair
they finally adjusted the top part of the helmet in order for the water to actually go into the gutter...

I can't determine if this home really has Gutter Helmet installed. Anyway, I've had Gutter Helmet on my home for many years - works great.
