I love the interpretation, like a halting sob in the soprano. Wonderful! so free and light, but at the same time the weight of the emotion is apparent. Ah Bach! Soli Deo Gloria!
Could somebody tell me what is the name of this group?! This is really remarkable! Great approach, and I would like to hear the other arias, if this group did perform the entire passion.
A lovely reading of this most sublime aria. A very nice balance between the sometimes overly dry strict baroque interpretations and the often overly expressive "Opera Diva" approach. I do hope to hear more from this very talented young lady.
It is nice to see some language used that I can understand under a classical music video !! Indeed she is bloody briliant. First time I came across Maria was on a radio station in New Zealand. She sang the nicest version I can recall of Lascia Ch'io Pianga by Handel. I've tried to get a recording of her singing this, but I have not yet found one.

@TheMismunandi: Must be De Nederlandse Bachvereniging (Netherlands Bach Society) with conductor Jos van Veldhoven, by the looks of it.

I notice some vacilations in her breathing, but it's still so beautiful!

She's hardly young. Bloody brilliant though. Listen to her doing Vivaldi. It's genius.

Hey, if you do fine one, would you let me know? That just happens to be one of my favourites.

I'd be delighted. Of course there are plenty of other versions around.
